I do like the idea of creative battle texts where it plays out like actual combat with the back and forth banter. Don't know that I have the time to write any though. :(

I figure, that if someone posts a link why not just flesh it out. Shouldn't be too hard and can be done at any time when I have time. Or even a competition who's text is the best?

It is a fun idea. I'd definitely be up for differing takes on the same battle. :)

I'm really behind this idea. Let's make it happen!

Should be okay to post here and he can link from there with his round-ups.
Worst case scenario, I can move the thread to the Transtopia forums and leave a shadow topic here.
We do want to build Transtopia up as well.

Va'al said you all suck and can burn in hell ... wait, no ... that was me. I forgot he's the half decent Admin, I'm the arsehole Admin.

Anyhoo ... he basically said we could leave the thread here and I'd have to constantly remind him of its existence. I then suggested that I do the shadow topic thing and he was like "eh, whatever you want to do then".

So yeah, whatevs ... I'll do what I want, and then sit back and laugh as he jumps up and down when I start posting HMW news on his precious news feed.

A 'Capture The Flag'/'Hot Potato'-type competition sounds interesting; it could run for a week or so, the flag could start with, say, Psych's Evil The Car and whoever stasis locks Evil The Car takes the flag, then someone would have to defeat them to retake it. It wouldn't even necessarily take multiple battles for it to pass back and forth between factions; my Highground could stasis lock Evil The Car, then Wrath's Wrath could turn around and put Highground down to reclaim the flag for the Decepticons all in one battle...

Scoring could be who has the flag at the end of the week (of course), who's had the flag the most times (counted by both players and by individual TFs), etc.

That could be interesting. We'd need whoever won the flag to post the mission they were in so it could be followed. Maybe whoever has it after X missions?

That's another way it could be scored, yeah.

Tracking the flag, as you pointed out, is the only potential problem I see; either the person who wins it or the one who loses it would have to post the mission and time index so we'd know who had it and there's always the possibility of someone who's not directly taking part in the competition somehow ending up with the flag. (I.E. Highground has the flag, Highground gets stasis locked by one of GenericDecepticon's TFs, but GenericDecepticon isn't taking part in 'Capture The Flag' here on the forums) Not sure at the moment how we'd score or track it in that situation...

Just make it so only SL's by those entered count as flag captures.

Perhaps he needs to be stasis locked X amounts of times before you get the point? It runs 2 days has to be locked 5 times. Flag is won?

But even then, that wouldn't eliminate the chance of a non-competitor getting the flag-winning SL. Lower the odds, yes, but there's still that chance. I think Bun-bun's idea of it only changing hands if the flagbearer is SL'd by a signed-up and registered competitor might work better...

Sign ups is a given. ALL the campaign games will involve sign ups, it has been specifically written to increase forum activity.

Late to the party, but I'll input.

In the theme of current events, I propose HMW Olympics. Obviously split into factions, but have individual events as well. Most kills, most kills with weapons, most kills with ability, maybe an actionmaster category. Team points faction mission wins, faction kills with a degree of difficulty based on level difference.

Ill try and post a better hashed out example later as I'm at work doing this on my phone.

As am I! And maybe the more artistically-inclined players could come up with medal graphics to put in sigs?

I'm all for that idea as well. It would create for some pretty even scoring, too =) would just be a lot to calculate and keep track if

Also, I love the medal idea 8-) Would be interested to know what people come up with.

There's some questions for that, though; how many categories would there be?, should there be different medals for each catagory?, different designs for Autobot and Decepticon medals?, Winners-only or win/place/show?, traditional gold/silver/bronze or something more creative?, etc....

I had a thought, maybe we could pull off some kind of narrative campaign? I don't have a clear idea, but campaign missions could include things like
  • attacking enemy bases (represented by cityformers/Battle Stations) with the side who has the greater number of enemy base kills becomes the attacker...
  • Silence The Guns, with weapon-formers being the targets to represent attacks on a defender's anti-air and anti-tank guns or raids to destroy an attacker's siege guns...
  • supply run/city under siege where the attacker's aircraft (helicopters, planes, birds, spaceships) and the defender's trucks are the targets being counted (representing supply convoys under air attack and anti-aircraft artillery fire). Whichever side has the most qualifying kills determines what kind of mission the next round involves... (Attacker making a massive push against a supply-starved city or a revitalized defender attempting a breakout, for example)

Thoughts?
