Fellow Seibertronian steals_your_goats has pointed us in the direction of a new trademark registered by Hasbro with the United States Trademark and Patent Office: Flip Racers. While we have not seen this name before, it's worth considering a re-treading of previous toylines such as Activators, Flip n Change or even Auto Rollers and Battle Slammers. Sound off your take in the Energon Pub!

Trademark Name: Flip Racers
Trademark ID: 86918464
Trademark Status Date: 02/29/2016
Trademark Details: Toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms.

Probably sell well, but I have the same opinion of these as the Titan series. What are they going to raid the '80's for next, sparkabots or actionmasters? I saw these for marvel and laughed

Plus, DR VAAL?

Probably getting a head start on TF5 since the movies bring out the strangest stuff. Can't really see them introducing something new like this to RID at this stage.

Has anybody considered that this may not even even be a Transformers line? The trademark filing is for Flip Racers, not Transformers: Flip Racers. Sure, it might be TF, but we don't know. Hasbro owns a lot of properties and this could well be for the Marvel line or something.

What else could it be but Transformers? Even if it's Marvel it'll still have a Transformers logo on it unless it's like those Flip Attack figures that were obviously modern Jumpstarters.

It could be something else (random speculation) like say RPM style cars with reversible bodies so you flip them over to show a robot on it's back on wheels or flip it the other way to show the vehicle and the large wheels keep the body off the ground either way ?

Or the term flip could be being used in the same way as in Flip-Changers (which I do sort of consider to be essentially the same thing as the more complex One-step changers).

I just hope that Hasbro knocks the whole Power Attacker thing on the head next time or at least makes darn sure that the main product is the one they push - as if I get another toyline that is impossible to get while the shelves are clogged with the 2016/2017 version of Titan PVC's and other under 5's toys I will not be so happy. AOE was a flipping (pardon the pun) disgrace -(in the UK).

If they make something not unlike 3 Step Changers and aim that at the young ones I'm OK with that so long as it does not stop us getting Voyagers.

But some of the stuff they make should be "Flanker Brands" and not clogging up the shelves everywhere in preference to better products - this is already happening with the somewhat average Mix and match parts Action Figure brands infecting Marvel/Star Wars & Transformers product lines.

Failing to provide proper distribution for proper toys will just bug me - especially if we get Titans Returns thrown under the bus in favour of yet another Movie toyline (when said toyline may not even include that many 'proper' toys).

Oh and YES I am being judgemental about under 5's toys - I never used to be as they never used to be quite so crap as they are now.

Playskool Transformer I adore, I was even OK with the earlier Rescue Bots before they got shrunk and lost most of their paint.

But things like Titan PVCs or 3 steps taking up to much shelf space INSTEAD of Voyagers just annoys me. Just as Much as Power Attackers super seeding Deluxes did for Age of Extinction.

I wonder what size they are - if they are really small - they might be really fun and collectable little Botshot like line if a bit bigger they might be overpriced and be stepping on the toes of the normal Rescue Bots toys.

It's like someone was looking at AOE Activators / Gravity Bots and Botshots and this is what they came up with. Though there has been similar Rescue Bots toys already - only much bigger. at least they are quite well decorated - unlike the Rescue Dinobots.

Now there is a line that needs upscaling - if they made them the size of the original wave 1 rescue bots and gave them movable arms and actually painted them they'd be a lot of fun.

Why do Hoist and Medix get Flip Racers before most of the bots who were on the show? Even before Bee, which is the first time that's happened in a while with pretty much anything.
