Didn't realize how big these were going to be, also looks like they're going to have some sort of assisted transformation gimmick.

I could see myself buying some future iteration of these...if Hasbro managed to make them a TF/Care Bears crossover.
Or better yet, if they actually did BarBEARian and his ilk...and Chainclaw and IceBird (with a little imagination)

Here's AmiAmi's English blog entry:
Preview: Transformers BE@RBRICK by MEDICOM TOYI'm sold on these, but I'm thinking they might be a bit expensive. Might shoot for Prime and Megs. Megatron has one of the best face sculpts we've seen for him in a while.
No auto transformation feature, the lever on the back just pops the head up.

I am surprisingly fond of these. At first glance I thought they were stupid. After a few more looks, I can understand why people would like these.

The final piece of news from Wonderfest 2015 comes in the shape of the Kubrick Bearbrick Age of Extinction Optimus Prime redeco, which we had only seen printed images of - but is still fairly peculiar, as its alt-mode is a cuddly (one might say) bear. Check out the mirrored photos from the event, courtesy, of course, of the
Autobase Aichi Facebook page!

This is worse than the bobble head prime. Call it culture shock if you want, but I seriously dont get whats running through their minds when they design this kinda stuff.

money would be my guess. It seems to me that these kitschy things sell well enough to justify them. Don't ask me why though.

Wonderfest gave us a look at the Bearbrick
Age of Extinction Optimus Prime redeco , in robot mode, and now
Japanese retailer CJ Mart bring us our first official images of the figure in both modes.
This toy from Takara Tomy and Medicom, uses the same mold as the
first Be@rbrick Optimus Prime, but in a deco reminiscent of the live action movies, in particular Age of Extinction. It will be released this month.

Why does this thing even exist ? Is this the result of when Japanese toy designers drink too much sake ?

I have all other 4. Just think they're nice bridging my TF collection with be@rbrick one. I guess those exists for people like me.

I will post this in other places too just so that people see it, but it turns out figures like these are super popular in Asia and Japan, as can be seen with them being among the top preorders on Japan exclusive sites:

That is the most stupid looking figure ever. Yeah I know, in Japan they like cute cuddly robots. But knowing that wont stop us from wondering why they like them...
