Still sounds kinda meh...
Way to Hip Hop, not enough ROCK.
Look up the oldies.

I've been listening since the band was still Hybrid Theory. Consider this: However you look at it, these first two tracks are WAY better than A Thousand Suns. Also, think about Meteora. Imagine if "Nobody's Listening" was the first track you heard off of it. You'd be pretty negative about how it sounded too. No, this album probably won't be the second coming of "Hybrid Theory" but in all fairness, few albums are good enough to be both a debut album and the best seller that year. The band has already stated though that they're going for their "wall of sound" vibe that we know and love and that this album should be much more familiar to fans than the last 2 have been.

I'll be honest though... As long as we have the back and forth between Mike and Chester that makes them so awesome, I'll be hooked. I missed that from the past two albums. Everyone loves "What I've Done" from Minutes to Midnight, and says it is the most like their older stuff, but "Bleed It Out" is my favorite track off the album, and to me is the most "traditional" Linkin Park song on that album.

I get ya. I just want them to go back and forth MORE. Bleed it out is a good example actually, but there is also Givin Up. I like it when they focus on ALL their talent, not just one specific type. That's when they make truly amazing music.

I didn't see anything wrong with "A Thousand Suns". Good album. Hybrid Theory was the first, so it started it all and introduced a new sound.

Meteora is still my favorite though. Not sure about the new album. I like burn it down, but the other track you posted doesn't hit me the right way. We'll see when the whole album is released.

A Thousand Suns was a concept album, too experimental. I could get past that if not for one thing: about a third the tracks on it aren't even songs! What the flaming **** LP? Seriously, you can skip and listen to 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15 and not really miss anything. Fifteen tracks, 9 songs, 48 minute album, 40 minutes of real content. Full price. Think about this: Hybrid Theory, Meteora.. How often do you WANT to skip tracks?

Living Things sounds like Meteora and A Thousand Suns had a baby.

I've listened twice. It's amazing, but it's ludicrously short. Only 36 minutes...

Honestly, Lost in the Echo is the best song ever.
