At this stage, I suggest petitioning HeadRobots for that.

I'd rather FP move on to other projects than a simple head swap.

What about a much-needed new head for P/CP?

I like Briticus' combined robot mode but I'm not a fan of the partsforming. Nice job, just not for me, not for the total cost. Plus, all the people flaming the Hasbro original need to remember A) the fun to be had creating fan-configurations with enhanced articulation and B} you get what you pay for ...in the case of Crossfire; a lot, but for a lot!

If they aren't making those anymore, I might just cancel these. I did intend to display them together after all.

Pretty sure they have stopped producing them, but you may still get lucky and see one somewhere eventually. I'd still recommend getting the Bruticus add-ons, because you'll probably regret skipping them. I know I would.

I think I would rather have the Energon version. Whoops, I meant Universe with Crossfire added. There is absolutly no contest between them. Seriously Hasbro, you dropped the ball with the Energon combiners. Thank the gods for Fansproject.

I'm going to have both. :P

Gauntlet101010 wrote:I dunno if it's fair to say Hasbro dropped the ball with the Energon combiners. They aren't bad and they only had permission to do so much. But I gotta say that FP brought this guy to a whole 'nother level.

This. I think for what Hasbro was doing at the time, they did a good job. There were obviously budget and limitations, but the combiners turned out pretty well and fit the Energon line. After all, they weren't really designed to be full-on modern versions of the G1 combiners, they were designed to be Energon versions. In that aspect they succeeded.

Fansproject's set raises the bar of course, for reasons that have already been discussed.

I'm hoping FP decides to cut out Hasbro all together and just make their own combiner team. The Superion addon was pretty cool, but was still 95% Hasbro parts. Bruticus is 60% Hasbro parts, and a great deal better looking imo. With what FP has learned from the Crossfire bots, Superion, and Springer, I'll bet they can make a pretty mean looking totally FP conbiner team.

How do Blast Off and Swindle look combined with the Energon versions? Do the colors work? I'd like to see a picture.

Unfortunately you might have to wait until it's released to find out, Seibertron said he won't have time to update the gallery because he has too many other galleries to work on.

As much as I like what I'm seeing from Fansprojects, I'd rather they don't do their own Energon-style combiner. Too expencive!

I'd love for them to tackle add ons for other toys, though. Personally, I think a combiner "suit" that can make choice Deluxe sized cars into Menasaur would be pretty nice. It'd be a parts former, but so are all other combiners.

And pay $130 for something that originally cost $50? Forget it. :BANG_HEAD:

My brother doesn't seem to care though. So I guess I'll be getting these anyway.

Not at this time ... I've got my hands full with too many other galleries at the moment. You guys are going to have to use your imagination for that combination.

ahh ok i understand. thank you for at least taking the time to answer.

I've been looking of a pic of this forever, becasue i don't have RotF Bruticus(passed it on clearance several times too, so i'm kicking myself now)and i've been holding off on ordering this set until i see how it looks or if it will even work with the old energon set. I've heard rumors that the delays where becasue it didn't work with all versions.

The superlatives to describe this set cannot truely express how I feel. If Fans Project does nothing else ever again, I will be a happy TF collector still. I no other TF toys get released and this is the last figure ever, I'd be please...as long as I have this set in my hands. I just need for BBTS to get this in stock, make my payment, and ship my POL which also has my Defendor!! Happy Days are coming SOON!!

The engineering on this set never ceases to amaze me. I didn't know about the transforming guns. Can't wait for Peaugh's review. The stop motion animation in this video is great but the voice is just too boring and he spent too much time talking about the other fansproject sets but since they are trying to sell all that stuff it is to be expected.

Haven't gotten thru all the comments, but am I theonly one who doesn't like the combined form with the 2 new limbs at all? The leg in particular, it's just a Hummer with a big foot stuck on the front; ditto for the tank leg. The shuttle arm is a little better, but not by much. The big add-on parts look great in terms of fit and finish, esp those beautiful hands, but I like my combiners to be self-contained, like the original Energon Bruticus mold, ROTF Dev (Supreme and Legends), Energon Dev, even GoBots Puzzler. All those add-ons take away from the combined form, IMHO.

That said, the individual robot modes are spectacular, I would get them on their own merits and never combine them.

I'm sure you're not alone, but probably in the minority. I think the combined form is ridiculously awesome, and all those extra combiner parts can be incorporated into the vehicle modes in some form or fashion. I actually pre-ordered two of each, that way I can display the combined form and have them displayed individually with Universe Onslaught and the displaced helicopter and tank from the original set. Best of both worlds.

Energon combiners are not perfect either, they have add on parts. Clear plastic hands and feet. Much like this kit's pieces, they need to be pegged into the alt modes in some not so convincing looking ways at times.

I see nothing wrong here at all. In fact, it is oh so right!

i don't think there's anything wrong with the legs being barely transformed from the alt modes. anything besides blocky legs and it would have a lot of trouble standing up. and honestly the blocky, barely-transformed legs are exactly what the original g1 figure had anyway

o god their so awesome... I'm glad I randomly grabbed that rotf bruticus at target when I did lol.

That being said, FP has way outdone themselves here, more so then even the reveiwer realizes(lack of instructions?). Now that I see the side of the boxes you can see the images stack just like on the back of the boxes. Almost makes you think they might remake Vortex/Brawl to match... could be a cheaper set since the accessories are already done, unless they go all out are remake Onslaught too...

I have the original City Commander, will have Protector/Warbot and to be honest...probably anything they produce along the lines of a major piece. FP's designs are just fantastic. I don't mind the extra cost for something so unique and well done. Keep it up FP!
