Great news Bot Shots fans! Thanks to the TaoBao auction site we bring you word several new and previously unknown Transformers Bot Shots singles and sets.

Let's start with the singles, Super Bot Sunstorm, Spin Shot Ironhide, and Jump Shot Shockwave. Based on their names and the images on their cardbacks it appears Ironhide and Shockwave feature new spring loaded actions. Of special note Shockwave has elbows!

Next we have three new sets. The first features Cliffjumper, Decepticon Brawl, and Dirt Boss. Again, Cliffjumper and Brawl appear to have a new flipping gimmick. The second set features Bumblebee, Shockwave, and Skyquake. Bumblebee and Shockwave have the jump feature and it appears Bumblebee comes with a weapon. Lastly we have the Autobot Air Force, you may know them better as the Aerialbots! A great compliment to the Stunticon set, which is currently available at retail. This set comes with Silverbolt, Quickslinger, Skydive, Autobot Firestrike, and Air Raid.

Is it me, or are Bot Shots just a great way for Hasbro to keep the cash flowing in whilst putting the bare-minimum effort into quality and engineering/development?
I've seen Bot Shots in stores and for what they are they're certainly not cheap. So with that in mind are they really aimed at kids, or are they just a sneaky way to keep the 30yr olds collecting.
And be honest now - none of you are actually using them as game pieces are you? Nobody actually uses the silly slamming-together functionality for entertainment.

Is that a gun I see in Bumblebee's hand?

And is that articulation I see on Shockwave?

Quickslinger? Autobot Firestrike? Slingshot is used for so many things I have no clue how they lost that, but what really concerns me is this: THEY LOST FIREFLIGHT???? Seriously? Well, now we know why the FoC toy is Air Raid and not Fireflight. They lost the name.

lol well they got me. But I admit I've thought of unloading the lot from time to time. To me they're just something fun to keep the addiction going when pickings are slim. If I had a desk where I could keep stuff at work I'd totally display them there.

YES, G1 Ironhide and Shockwave. Been waiting for these guys. I might pick up the CJ/Brawl/Dirt Boss set too, even though I don't care much for Dirt Boss. And is that an Aerialbot set? :o Awesome, but they really need some more Decepticons. I'm still waiting for a G1 Megatron. Oh, and Sunstorm is the first clear one that actually sort of makes sense. I'll still pass though, since I don't collect him normally. Though I did get the Kreon version...

Elbows???????
So we now have what, 4 different types of these? (5 if you could the launcher sets separate from the normal ones.)
1. Normal- All previous and the new super bots. (Looks OK, very simple, although why do the super bots have the outdated molds? They should have elbows!)
2. I-can-fly Botshots- AKA Ironhide. (WTF? On the other hand, does his head swivel? It kinda looks like it does.)
3. Elbows!!!!- SHockwave, and maybe Bumblebee? (Elbows make them, although they appear to possibly have a slightly more complicated transformation- fine by me, though!)
4. Stubby arms - Cliff & Brawl (Improved over original, but do we really need anything but the elbow molds?)

Summary: They should all just have elbows. I am obsessed with the elbows.

Good for you, but kids LOVE these things, as evidenced by their crazy sales. And those sales bring money to the brand so they can fund the larger figures. It's worth considering that Hasbro making money with a stroke of genius like Botshots is a big deal!

Also, these are clearly all new (and often improved) molds! ELBOWS, MAN! ELBOWS! I'm not a Bot Shot guy, but I might pick up Shocky just to have some adorable evil.

INDEED! :D

Also, why is there a Shockwave cosplaying as Optimus Prime?

It would appaer Hasbro lost Aerialbots as well, seeing as they're calling it the Autobot Airforce.

Considering that Bakugan, Beyblade, and other such simple "collect and fight" games are exceedingly popular with the kids, yes, making a Transformers version of that is indeed a great way to keep the cash flowing in. :) You don't have to like it, but it's popular with the young'uns.

Wow... I actually kinda like that Dirt Boss.

Must be the 1st homage to homage the Cybertron Dirt Boss.

Also, the Superion set is pretty neat. Too bad they don't transform. They should make a Stunticon set too...

Super Bot Skyquake? But he's already releas - wait.

These are perfect for my 4 year old - he loves them and has been collecting them from the start. Good way to intorduce younger fans into the toys and no need to worry about missing arms or other parts. Plus they are $3.99 or $4.99 depending on where you buy them from. Not a lot of other "name brand" toys out there selling for less than that.

I noticed that some of them say "Crash to change", some say "Crash to flip", some say "Crash to jump" and some say "Crash to spin". Is this something new? Do some of them actually jump, flip or spin as they transform?

That's Acid Storm. But they already did release a non-transparent Skyquake as well.

I think so, it seems the new molds/transformation schemes are engineered to pop open differently. Cool be cool if they work properly. :D

Bot Shots are great! They're very inexpensive for what they are. Any figure that's under $4 nowadays is pretty cheap, plus if you buy them at the discount chains like Ross, TJ Maxx and Marshalls you can get the 3 packs for around $5 or $6.

My daughter is 3 and loves these ... so do all of her cousins that are 5 or under. They're simple to play with and easy for little kids to transform. They don't play the game with them, but they sure have fun bashing them into things or other Bot Shots.

Bot Shots at the retail stores in the Chicago area fly off the shelves it seems. They're a very popular item. I've sold at least 50 or more of the individual figures via Seibertron.com's eBay store from the cases that I get from BBTS that have duplicates.

I'm really happy they aren't altering the TOY faces into these toothy monster faces they seem to be giving everyone. Keep that crap on the card, not on the toy. Yuck.

BUT, as is... I'm planning to pick all of these up. They're great little representations of the G1 bots. Hopefully it will drive interest and issue in a new wave of Generations/Classics toys for 2013. I'm still eying the lineup and remembering it's missing a few key players like Blitzwing, Skids, Trailbreaker, Gears, Hoist, Brawn, Reflector, etc. I'd also dance in the aisles for a Hasbro G1 reissue of Artfire — or a G1 Prowl repaint as Barricade. We know those molds still exist.

But I digress. These are awesome entry-level bots, and the new gimmicks sound fun. Bring on the G1 Bot Shots. Less repaints of the same character, and moar characters!!! Bluestreak, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Hound, Smokescreen, Thrust, Dirge, Ramjet, Warpath...
