I can tolerate keeping a G1 style if something new was done with it (ala IDW). But a full on revival? I'd reject that.

I can understand the fans dislike of including characters from the 86 film in the Studio Series line, as aesthetically it makes no sense, I mean if movie characters in those likenesses started showing up in Generations, I'd imagine there's be equal backlash. I mean I'm not a fan of studio series, I don't own any studio series, but i do appreciate seeing them in the stores, and keeping up with whats coming out etc... Adding characters from TF:TM deviates from that, and so I can understand the backlash to that.

However I'm not talking about a full on revival. Just a film, or perhaps a series of animated films in the vein of DC's animated films is all I'm asking. The kids can keep moving forward with their RID's and their Cyberverses and their terrible flash animation...that's fine.

But more and more we are seeing genre's going back to the original well because its what what made them famous. Not talking about a retelling like Star Trek Discovery, but going back to the original timeline like Star Trek Picard. Gundam Unicorn went back to the UC after it had been abandoned for a great length of time, because fans wanted it.

I dont need a whole new toyline, or comic series. Just a little something, anything, not to take over the whole brand, but just for the adult fans to be able to remember what made Transformers great for them. The Sunbow series was left unfinished so it would be nice to move forward by telling a story back in that original series timeline is all, and I think it would do unbelievably well, and until its tried and failed, nobody can convince me otherwise.

Not if one considers "The Return of Optimus Prime" as the true finale and "The Rebirth" as an epilogue. ;)

Something similar even happened with TF: Prime's true finale being "Deadlock" while Predacons Rising came over a year later as a three-part epilogue.

I would of there was any news out there  latest news is that trailer. For any budding film markers out there, this is not how you promote something.

Gundam UC never died though, it was kept alive through model kits, novels and Manga, like one of my favourites, Crossbone Gundam. Gundam Unicorn was just the first animated UC installment since the Gundam Evolve shorts. Besides you may be trying to pair gundam and transformers up in a fashion (ironic considering their owners rivalry ) but gundam will be always be Japan's answer to Star Trek... Also hate to break it to you but discovery isn't a retelling, just a pre-sequel.

Adult fans don't need the exact same thing fed to them though, they just need to look at the franchise again as a kid would.

Who are these "Many" and "One" you keep speaking of...I've never heard of these people... ;)

At any rate, Deadlock was I'll agree a much more definitive conclusion, and the Predacons Rising Film was a nice addendum (just re watched recently, the last good TF Animation we had...) . But Neither of those left you clamoring for more.... They were nice endings each in their own right (and Ironically we got RiD15, which nobody asked for)

I don't think there was a kid on the playground in my school in 1988 that wasn't in high anticipation of seeing PM Prime, the Seacons, new Headmasters and Targetmasters on TV.... (and no that Puppet prime garbage retelling older episodes doesn't count). I mean sure we thought it was a little odd that only 3 episodes had been made in the past year, but we had no understanding as to why...There was no internet to tell us the show had been cancelled, we just sort of figured it out, after 2+ years of perpetual reruns, the toys getting worse, and of course aging out of toys altogether.

I respect your opinion, but I'll agree to disagree. Kids can have Transformers aimed at them, to generate new interest. Adults should also have the opportunity to have something they enjoyed as a kids.

Also both time periods had rival series and stiff competition, still the Original Transformers dominated from 1984-86/87 until other franchises started to exceed their sales. I don't think Transformers as a brand has ever been as popular as those first few years. Maybe during a couple of the years when Live Action films were released but I'm not sure. It's great that it has survived, but are kids talking about it? I don't think so. I mean I see Cyberverse toys on the shelves, but none of my friends kids ever talk about it, I never see anyone with any toys (well at least not prior to quarantine). I think there's a dozen other shows/toys anime etc...that they'd rather spend their money and time on.

I suppose my main take away for all of this is, don't get your hopes up, move on... Afterall you don't want another Transformers Deviations situation do you.. ;)

Not to play Devil's advocate (or whatever it is I'm doing), here, but the prose story "Echoes and Fragments" provided a wonderful alternative to Deviations (preceding it by a month, even) as far as alternate tellings of TFTM are concerned. ;)

Jim Sorenson wrote it for one of the TCC Facebook character blogs, yes. But it's more easily readable in its archived form on TFWiki.

As for it being made it comic form, that would be something. It's very ambitious and (apropos of Sorenson's works) super nerdy, with lots of reality-warping shenanigans involving Sideways, Vector Prime, and nearly the entire cast of Tonka's GoBots. 8-}

Sorry, but how is creating new stories set in the original TF animated continuity being stagnant? Basically what your saying is. "If you don't like the garbage Hasbro is pumping out for kids, get out. Eat your trash and like it!" If everyone had that attitude there'd be no Prime Wars Trilogy or WFC Trilogy toys, arguably the best we've had in a long, long time.

I'm not saying to take anything away from the kids, but as someone who's been a fan from the beginning, why cant that world continue ALSO? Other franchises do it, and it works out very well.

Looks like one of the voice actors was nice enough to provide some information.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CBjFPqJjmCY/

So very kind of her. But why is this not coming from Hasbro, or Netflix, or Roosterteeth?

They could have told fans this when all the problems started and I think fans would have been quite understanding. Silence makes us believe those involved don't care. I'm glad the actors do. But then again, they are always kind and professional, even if the final product isn't that great.

Transformers Netflix Series Delayed Due To Coronavirus

Greetings Seibertronians! The news I bring today isn't good but not unexpected either. Fellow Seibertron user, O.Supreme, let us know that the Voice Actress For Elita One, Linsay Rousseau, has posted on innstagram, and explained why we have yet to see the first part of the War for Cybertron series in our viewing queues. Her statement was in response to a question she was asked about when the show was coming out.

Linsay Rousseau wrote:I wish I knew. It was supposed to be June but due to the quarantine they didn’t finish the foreign dubs for the show. They are working on those now. Netflix is requiring that all foreign dubs be completed so the show can be launched in all languages at once. So this is in the hands of Netflix and Rooster Teeth

We'll keep you all updated on when this show will air when we have more information. Let us know your thoughts and reactions in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

Makes sense. When Netflix launches one of it's original series, they like to have an international launch,so the series is done, but they need to finish the dubbing process in the other countries.

I'm glad they posted this screenshot. With this look, Elita cannot be a simple repaint of the Chromia mold. We must be getting something at least partly new.

What haven’t they done? They canned a bunch of them, two of the founders Joel Hayman was let go and last week Burnie Burns resigned and left the company. They’ve been falling apart ever since they sold the company to full screen who in turn got sold and if now owned by time warner. There’s rumors they might be shut down and absorbed into Cartoon Network

The entire company has been on a downward spiral of mismanagement, petty politics, internal drama and generally been falling apart like a leper dancing around.
