so FOC is a new mold? :-? I was sort of hoping for it being the WFC one re-released, or at least repainted, so that we'd get more new molds of new characters.

also, anyone seen or heard anything at all about the Micron Arms minicon targetmasters little dudes coming to the west?

Whoa.

The package of FOC Prime does say Generations on it with Fall of Cybertron at the bottom.

And you're right. I should've looked closer at the package.

FOC Optimus sucks.
FOC Jazz looks good in robot mode, but the vehicle mode doesn't impress me at all.
FOC Bruticus looks much better in these pics.

PRID Starscream is a joke. So glad I bought the First Edition. No way the Voyager can top him.
PRID Bulkhead is horrible. I can't even begin to explain it. Just saddening.
PRID Leaders... I knew they were unimpressive, but Optimus is terrible. Just...no.

Generations looks to be my only viable option for TFs this year. Outside of a few PRID molds such as Breakdown.

I'm angry with Hasbro. Almost enough to tell them to stick it. What's gonna be the straw that breaks the camel's back? Because this is darn close.

I think we've agreed more times today any on any other.

Indeed. Though, our like minded anger is well deserved. This is a pretty awful offering that Hasbro has given us. Spring 2013 and the anniversary in 2014 better be so damned impressive that we turn ourselves inside out to heap praise upon them.

It won't be, I'm almost 100% certain of it.

Hasbro did listen to us about Generations, great. I can understand them shying away from DOTM/Movieverse, since it's pretty much lost steam. But...PRID/F.E.? I don't even understand why they did what they did.

Some of PRID's more show accurate, I get that, but some are so drastically changed that it just stuns me to see what they've done, it just makes no sense. The changes to Starscream and Bulkhead, for example. Two of the best molds out of Prime, so far.

All I can say is, I agree with the following:

Just noticing how nice the Generations/FOC packaging is. Good stuff. I'm excited to carefully slice open those card backers, and then rage after my hand slips, scratching away some of the card art.

sadly i saw them as well on TFW. man. what were they smoking?! glad i paid 100+ for FE prime and bulkhead and starscream cus they are just horrid. i think starscream would be awesome if he did not have that huge clunky mechtech weapon and was transformed right. but damn, the only voyager i am getting is megatron.

He's the only PRID Voyager worth buying, trust me.

I still think this is a filler, leading up to something big. Whether it's a good big, or a bad big, still remains to be seen.

It better be a good big, that's all I can say.

Have to say, I'm not all that impressed with most of the PRID figures either.

Starscream is a bummer :/ Megatron looks like they forgot to paint him. Knockout still looks awkward because of the chest transformation and Ratchet would have looked a *lot* nicer if they added the mid-gray tone his cartoon model has. I'm going to have to break out the paint brush on Ratch if I buy him.

I think this might be the line where I stick to the tiny guys. I was only "meh" with the movie cyberberse figures, but the Prime ones look really pretty nice. We'll see. I still prefer the deluxe and voyager sizes but Hasbro isn't really impressing me here and the playsets have caught quite a bit of my attention.

I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens. Won't argue if they end up saving me money. I can put that towards a PS3 or something. Haha

Seibertron.com site owner Ryan and news admin El Duque spoke briefly with the Hasbro Transformers brand team this morning at Toy Fair in New York regarding a few loose ends from yesterday. From their discussion, they bring news that there are currently no plans to release DOTM Que, Soundwave (both deluxe and Human Alliance) and Target-release Leadfoot at this time. The main reasons for this is what befalls many toy lines as they come to a close - retailers show more interest in the next line than they do in continuing the existing line. It is possible that the figures could see a release at some point, but at this point there are currently no plans.

In addition, there is apparently some interest within Hasbro to bring Takara Tomy's Arms Microns to the US, but there are no solid plans at this point.

As soon as Hasbro fixes something they ruin something else. May they get stuck in the worst alt mode in the Transformer Universe! :-x

Hasbro, you have a Generations line that was made specifically for releasing many different era's of transformers under on title. Why you haven't repackaged these (and what was supposed to be left of Animated for that matter) into this line is beyond me. What's the point in having it if you don't use it to it's full potential?

I'm sure Soundwave will see a release in that Trilogy line (likely repainted). The other two, not so much. Same to be said of Vortex and Skywarp, I imagine.

At any rate, this should make the scalpers happy.

I must say, that is extremely disappointing. I had been waiting for those three to come out for the past few months, and I really hoped to round off my movieverse collection (As best I could) with them. Very unfortunate, but expected. Guess I'll start collecting TF Prime figures now.

*sighs*

I truly don't get it. We know they produced Leadfoots destined for Target plus TakaraTomy received their's, plus we saw a packaged Soundwave in both Deluxe and Human Alliance packaging. Why waste all that money??

Obviously the figures were produced. I wonder if Japan will make a Dino available? They seemingly don't have to worry about Hot Wheels and Ferrari, over there.

Guys, go back and read the news article again. Hasbro may have made 'em, the stores aren't buyin 'em. A repackage would work, but it isn't Hasbro's fault. They made the supply, and the middle-market demand (the stores, not us) aren't interested. Sucks but is true.

And it's a shame, I really wanted an HA Soundwave

Well, they did say that it was due to the retailers not wanting them anymore and ordering the new toy lines instead.
dedcat wrote:I'm sure Soundwave will see a release in that Trilogy line (likely repainted).

Cancelled.

Kinda sucks for those who wanted them.
But hey, maybe they'll put them into the Generations line at one point, they gotta get those 40 + figures from somewhere.

Hasbro, the next time you want to put out 100 Bumblebee repaints, remolds, etc... think of these. The figures we ACTUALLY wanted. Oh and cancelling FE didn't help either.

Well this is a little confusing. Since there's apparently little interest from retailers regarding the Movie-verse figures, does this mean Hasbro is canceling the Movie Trilogy line? I don't remember reading that they were canceling that line, especially since they recently showed pics of the Optimus w/ trailer.

If Hasbro IS moving forward with the Trilogy line, then it confuses me even more since the Trilogy line was planning to use both the Que and Soundwave molds.

It absolutely is their fault for not releasing them sooner and not planning things out. They should know by now how stores operate and that releasing so many lines at the same time is a bad idea.
