I don't even like the AOE character design, and I think this art looks GREAT. Those poses are really dynamic. Maybe the one legged pose leaves space on the card so the blister doesn't cover all the art.
If you are going to make this statement, lets have proof. Show us your PUDDING.

Sure. Like i said. I don't get the opportunity to do character art that often so i actually have great respect for the skill. You can check out my (mostly non character art) over at nogunarmy.com

I also understand that clients can slowly turn the best work into dogshit with idiotic feedback until you just don't care anymore. I've had that happen to me. I wonder if that's what happened here. Some of the poses aren't that bad, but the running poses are just awful.

To be honest, of all the movie lines, I feel this is the best one. The robots looked more like robots than aliens for once and there was attention to detail in giving two extremities of design, either vehicle integration or not. Sure, the leaders from ROTF and DOTM were better but as a whole, the toys showing onscreen characters were far superior than the previous lines to me, and more fun to collect.

In other words, "yeah, this character art sucks and I can do better character art, so to prove it to you, go to my website where I post all art except for non-character art." Nice way to back up your argument.

I saw the artwork and then I looked at my toys. I never realized Drift had a goatee and Crosshairs had a mustache... Why the need for facial hair on alien robots? Eh well I mean Wreck-Gar had that mustache going on back then but still. Enough is enough.

Hound has a beard too. It's all to make them more human and identifiable. Earlier movies had that too, look at Revenge of the Fallen Jetfire and Dark of the Moon Sentinel Prime.

Besides, why should such features be exclusive to humans?
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

yeah. you ever played an MMORPG, or something like that with customizable characters? imagine you could customize your own face. wouldnt you? and TF's must be able to easily. why would everyone want to look alike?

These figures, are basically jousting toys in which the toys smash into each other, knocking the rider figures off. The dinos fire sparks out as they go, adding some visual flare to the gimmicks.

In the images, we see both the Drift with Slug and Optimus Prime with Grimlock sets. These will see release on May 17th, along with the rest of the Age Of Extinction toy lines.

I feel we just had this conversation about beards. Whenever someone thinks of bringing it up, just know that facial hair has always been around and there is nothing odd about it. When dealing with transforming robots that were created by aliens and that can become shrinking guns, microscopes and rockets surrounded by a railroad track, trying to reason robot beards seems to be the least of our worries.

First Sighting of Platinum Age of Extinction Dinobots Unleashed set at retail (Toysrus)

Postby william-james88 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 7:43 pm

Motto: "'till All Are One"
Fellow Seibertronian Shajaki just spotted the BBTS and Toysrus shared exclusive Platinum Age of Extinction Dinobots Unleashed five pack. This five pack includes a new deco for voyager Grimlock, voyager Slog, deluxe Slug, deluxe Scorn and deluxe Strafe. This is the first reported sighting.

While the decos seem to be more aligned with the movie accurate deco, they also feature heavy use of translucent plastic. In hand images of these decos can be found here, and thorough galleries of the individual molds can be found here.

this set would be ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS if the majority of the figures were done in the brushed metal they used with a few chrome accents.. seriously.. this set could've been perfect.. but the way it is now is awful, they have some gorgeous brushed metal parts hodgepodge'd with the ugly smokey translucent plastic and random chrome/plain grey plastic parts.

had they all been done like strafe's wings with a couple strategically placed chrome bits and a couple small color accents, these would've been amazing.
