We have some pretty big news breaking today on the future of Transformers Cartoons on TV! As we all know, the current Rescue Bots TV show came to an end last year. There have been rumors swirling for months of a replacement series, Rescue Bots Academy. We finally have confirmation that this series is indeed coming from the Boulder Media production house.

UPDATE: We now have a PDF from Hasbro Media themselves, which gives us an extra slide showing the plot synopsis of the series:

These screenshots are coming from a user on Twitter by the name of Chevistian Cordova, who attended a Hasbro/Paramount/Boulder Media press conference, where they covered the future in Transformers animation, meaning Machinima's Power Of the Primes, Cyberverse, and our first look at the new Rescue Bots sequel. Check out the screen caps below!

We also have some details about the series from the same source:

"Coming to an end"? It ended over a year ago.

Sorry, for whatever reason I swore there were episodes that hadn't aired yet, so I thought it wasn't officially over. Fixed!

Aligned continuity chugs on yet still! Maybe we’ll see some post-RID Team Bee or Optimus.

This is not that kind of show, these are not the original characters they just share names and this show was not made for you but for younger kids so it will never be violent which is good because Transformers has never been a primarily violent show besides when it was the intention with Prime.

As for new characters don't get your hopes up since the last show only had 4 new Autobot characters join the cast not including Prime, Bee and one episode Sideswipe.

Now that I think about it this cast is the kind of thing I've been wanting for awhile, new characters and one returning from a more obscure part of the franchise also this pleases me since I wanted Medix and Hoist to be in the original show so them being here is great in my opinion.

Hot Shot being back and looking quite like his Armada version is quite the thing instead of going with some G1 character instead great to see him back, same thing with Wedge if he is anything like the Rid 2001 version although I never saw that show myself.

Whirl being a chick is interesting but no doubt some fans are going to hate it and for that I would like to quote someone from another website who said this about it.

They didn't make Whirl a girl, they made a girl and named her Whirl because that's kinda TF's thing.

As for Heatwave I welcome him back especially if he is continued to be voiced by the same guy, I assume he is a teacher and that the other Rescue bots from the last show will also be in it in a similar non major role.

Also that's a lot of episodes for 1 season especially compared to Cyberverse's 18.

It's probably a throwback to Whirl's holoavatar from MTMTE. But I am also mentally preparing myself to roll my eyes at the people who are gonna get salty about it.

I think it's a coincidence, it's not G1 Whirl it's a new character who's name is also Whirl.

Been waiting for info on this, and I'm excited! Not sure I can wait until 2019 for this...

Surprised they didn't use Brushfire along with Hoist and Medix. Speaking of Medix, FINALLY! Finally the rescue team gets their ambulance!

Also surprised to see Hot Shot, but more surprised to see WEDGE! Wasn't expecting a RiD 2001 homage to show up in a new show ever at all.

Whirlybird looks kinda cute, but MAN I hope she's handled better than Quickshadow was...

I....guess we're all just gonna ignore the fact that hot shot ain't the only obscure character making a comeback...?

Transformers Rescue Bots Academy To Air in Fall of 2018

PostPosted: Thu Mar 22, 2018 3:51 am
by Va'al
We have a small update on Rescue Bots Academy, the new animated series due from Hasbro's media productions, in collaboration with the studio Boulder Media: according to an article on CynopsisMedia, the show has moved up from a previously generic due date of in 2019 to in the fall (of 2018, we assume from the piece).

Transformers Rescue Bots Academy – which Sondon describes as “the same concept as Transformers Rescue Bots but more skewed to a preschool audience” – is slated to bow in the fall.

The article appears to also confirm the target audience - lowering the age bracket a little, perhaps - with Angela Sondon of Discovery Family also mentioning My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop's later incarnation, news we heard from the Hasbro presentation at Toy Fair 2018. You can read the whole piece here.

New episodes are a very welcome sight. Our 3-year-old has made us watch the first 3 seasons of Rescue Bots over and over and over again.

I pretend to be exasperated, but secretly I'm very proud.

Fourth Season??? On Australian Netflix we've only got access to the first 3.
Another season of the original Rescue Bots is even better!

Didn't know that Australian Netflix is missing the fourth one. Guess you'll have to find that online.
