how do I find some of those shops you discuss in the podcasts--because trying to spell them on vocal pronuciation is getting me some 'strange' search results.

I haven't personally bought anything from BBTS or Captured Prey, but I heard good things about Prey. I use ToyArena once in a while, and so far I have no complaints. Other than that it's eBay, and through 140-plus transactions, I've had only 1 bad experience.

I've used Captured Prey a few times and I have no complaints at all. The owner's a regular over at TFW and posts here every now and then under the alias Sidecutter. He seems like a very standup guy.

He is. Honest guy and his order/ship system is amazing. An email for each step of the order. No having to email them or asking for a phone number, just be patient and the email comes to you, automatically.

And he packs well. Like, really well. Holy Cow.

I've used BBTS countless times, highly recommended, their customer service is amazing.

I've used TFSource (via PayPal, no credit card info with them, heh.) and they took a while to ship, but they did ship and it was packed well. Plus, even though it wasn't collector's grade, the figure's packaging was pristine. ...pristine.

I've heard good things about ToyArena.

Robotkingdom...you hear a lot of good things about, but I'm in the minority that ended up having a horrible experience with them. I had to go to PayPal and initiate a claim before they'd even work with me. Heck, before they'd even ANSWER me. They did finally come through, but it was a hassle and what should've taken 4-7 days took around 4 weeks to fix. (Google them, I'm not the only one who's had problems.)

Kapow Toys is a UK based seller, he posts on the boards and he has high marks across the board. I've never used his services, but I've yet to hear anything negative.

Buyer Beware:

I tried to purchase items on Xybertoys.com, and while they took my money, no toys were forthcoming. I've written to Paypal, but I'm not positive that they can even do anything at this point.

so even though it seems that the site is working, and you go through all the actions of purchasing, and get a paypal receipt, it appears that there are no toys for puchase.

if a member of Xybertoys would like to get in touch I'll retract this statement, in return for my purchase.

Uhh...from what I can tell, they haven't updated since 2010. I don't think they're in business anymore.

I pays to do some quick searching before jumping on something if you don't know the store.

I looked at the site for 30 seconds and realised they were no longer doing anything. Their most recent update was "New Toys for April 2010." I mean seriously...

Just to share my bad mood this morning,

just after receiving a parcel from BBTS ,

pile of loot containing some arms microns, Capule microns, alternity Dai Atlas and Goldbug, and sundry other stuff, valued at $325 (€257),

Bad Mood bit, parcel came with a $85 (€65) import charge. Kind of spoils the entire thing.

thanks for sharing in my rant.

Lonrac,

get over it, a lot of U.S. retailers won't ship international- (You know who you are  :ic$:  )- so if you have to pay extra to get your loot, it's a price you have to pay,I know that Robotkingdom can refrain from putting the value on your parcel, so if that will help. :-?

I've found that the bigger the box the worse the odds are that you'll get stung for customs etc. sometimes I get away with it, most of the time I don't :( (I'm in Northern Ireland btw)
