According to the Hasbro guys from the panel at NYCC, these Predacons are basically Cybertron's version of dinosaurs. They were Cybertron's first ancient race who were destroyed in a great cataclysm, but the way they will be brought into the show will be revealed in season 3.

I'm getting a Forerunner vibe from that.

For those who wonder, Forerunners are a race in the Halo franchise that ruled the galaxy before mysteriously disappearing. I could go on, but knowing Burn would have my hide if I went any more off topic, I'd rather not take that chance.

The dragons are probably the only figures I will be picking up from "Beast Hunters". Unless the cartoon convinces me otherwise, that is.

Well, based on all the toys we've seen thus far, the Preds all appear to have dragon-based altmodes and none else.

...Unless by "Dinobot" you meant "the Dinobots", which could then be possible since there are hints of Grimlock and co. being involved with season 3 what with the "Rage of the Dinobots" comic being a prequel to Prime season 3 (and a sequel to Fall of Cybertron).

Looks to be a very similar transformation to Lazerback, except (as I said earlier) the neck splits to become her shoulderplates. And as you've noticed, not entirely sure where the head goes. Looks like the stand-up transformation is going to be a thing again.

I think I got my timeline wrong. The video is what apparently happens after G1 era events, right? Yea, so I guess its not much like the video. My Bad. I must be rusty, but weren't the Predacons an ancient race even in the Beast Wars? The Tripredicus council and all that?

I still meant Dinobot, even if its not exactly a raptor. What was Dinobot back on Cybertron, other than the excavator figure that we got? He coulda been some sort of beast.

Eh, I dunno about them all being dragons (Laserback strikes me as more of a chimera). If anything they remind me of the G1 Terrorcons, and I suspect that not all of them will keep the dragon motif; as in there will probably be an errant monster or two, like Blot or Rippersnapper.

"Theft of the Golden Disk" takes place immediately before the "Dawn of Future's Past" comic, and both of which take place immediately before episode 1 of the Beast Wars cartoon since they both lead directly into it.

The Maximals and Predacons of the Beast Wars cartoon traveled back in time to prehistoric times from the Cybertron of their own era, which is a future era set some 300 years after the era of Generation 1. The Beast Era Predacons are the descendants of the G1 Decepticons, with the only difference between each being that the Predacons are downsized to be roughly the size of Earth humans instead of giant-sized. The size reduction took place during the Great Upgrade as a means to support energy conservation.

Just it had been common for the Autobots and Decepticons, the Maximals and Predacon all very likely turned into primarily vehicle modes on Cybertron. Dinobot turned into an excavator on Cybertron and was never shown as having been anything else prior to that form.

The more I look at it the more I think Ripclaw was the one in the promo.

Except the Predacon in the promo has Predaking's head. And he's huge. It couldn't be Ripclaw.
