Hahaha.
That said, putting an upgrade for a CW guy in-between upgrades for TR guys number wise - especially since Sky Lynx has been out since February or something - would be a bit... odd. Then again, Metroplex and Magnus have been out longer.

True. Though, given PM Prime is a heavy retool, I probably would have waited instead of using Magnus as a base...but hey, Perfect Effect is a good company, they know what they're doing. I'm sure they have a plan.

Maybe 14 is a Leokaiser add-on?

In somewhat related news, I took some pictures of Victorion with both the Bruticus and Battle Core OP upgrade hands. Look for them soon....

Okay, here's some pics of Victorion with the two different hands from PE Upgrade kits. It is hard to gauge color in these pics, but it was the best I could do with my lighting. I might try some outdoor pics...

Image
In this pic, Battle Command Optimus Prime (hereafter BCOP) is on our left, Victorion's right, and Bruticus is on our right, Victorion's left. Both are darker than the original hands and feet. Bruticus's is much darker, but shiney, matching the central hub of Victorion's sword. BCOP's is lighter, but still a shade or three darker than the original. Here are a couple more closer pics.

Image
Image
Gives new meaning to "holding hands," eh?

Personally, I think either could work well. I have decided to get another Bruticus set as I like the color similarities to the sword. There is that shiny metallic detailing on the thighs that seems complimentary in person as well. Plus, with the misassembled Pyra Magna legs, my Victorion is very tipsy in combined mode. I'll like having ankle flexibility with the PE add-on. 'Tis too bad as I do really like the stock hands and feet...

This may be a bit off topic but I wonder when TR gets released worldwide, would Perfect Effect make upgrade kits for them and what would it be?

They would very likely make heads for the likes of Galvatron, maybe a cartoon accurate head for Blaster, Headmasters/IDW-accurate heads etc.
Not to mention Targetmasters for Blurr, Scourge and eventually Hot Rod and Triggerhappy. That's the sort of thing I can easily see them doing considering they tend to do the add-ons - "Perfect Effect", just as it says on the tin.

Got some interesting information from BBTS this morning:

Big Bad Toy Store wrote:Hello,

We have been informed of an important information update regarding the PFT10054 PC-11 Perfect Combiner Upgrade Set. We have just learned that this item is ONLY compatible with the Hasbro version of Combiner Wars Computron. It is NOT compatible with the Takara Tomy version of Computron. For your convenience, a direct link has been attached below:

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=PFT10054&mode=retail

Our website listing is now up to date and current with the most accurate information available. If this item no longer meets your expectations and you would prefer to cancel your preorder instead, we do understand. To cancel a preorder, simply sign in to your BBTS account and click the blue 'View Preorders' button. From here, reduce the quantity to zero on the preorder you wish to cancel; select 'Update' and it will be removed from your account.

We hope that you will enjoy this product when it arrives, and thanks again for preordering from BigBadToyStore!

Sincerely,

BBTS Customer Care

It is awesome to have this reach out. I wonder what is so different between the two that this only works with Hasbro's version. I'm getting both, so I guess I'll see... :-?

Well... Takara's has a completely remolded combiner chest. The PC-11 set is designed to be compatible with the Silverbolt/Scattershot chest; it just connects differently, simple as that.

Interesting. I didn't realize Takara has such an extensive remold in the chest area. I had thought it was more paint than anything. :-?

Nope, have a look

It's a rather similar outer silhouette so I can definitely see how you made that mistake; but look closer and you'll see it's completely new molding.

Perfect! Thanks for the pic! I was sifting through one of the official threads, but gave up finding it. :-$

Yeah, that remolding is more extensive than I had originally thought. I wonder how it is going to impact the vehicle mode in comparison to Hasbro's.

But, yeah, if PE sculpted their add-on to be tight against Hasbro's chest, then it makes sense this won't work on Takara's.

The torso mode chest on the Silverbolt mold ends up on the sides of the legs in robot mode and at the bottom of the vehicle mold; hence it isn't visible.

Right, but on the Hasbro version, there are molded wheel details to act as landing gear. There is nothing similar on Takara's. Is paint chipping or a strange stance in vehicle mode going to be the result?

On the other hand, who am I kidding? I'm going to be displaying these guys in bot or combined mode most of the time anyway. :D

Lets talk G2 Menasor.
Proper G2 Menasor's hands and feet are supposed to be the same color as Breakdown. Enter CW G2asor, his hands and feet aren't quite right, its somewhere between Breakdowns aqua and Motormasters blue, and that's alright.

Image

Image

But the first images PE released of their G2asor kit he had the same blue as Motormaster, and that bummed me out.

Image

But these new in-hand images, I wanted o point out that the color has actually changed to the same (stock) amalgam blue that CW G2asor comes with. So I'm happy again ;)^

I must be honest, it's a very pretty sword.

I'm kinda tempted to get it and have a Voyager or something hold it, being so over-the-top FF7 Cloud would step over and say "C'mon man, that's just silly."
