Not trying to brag but my cat is 16. Shes old, mostly blind and deaf but she gets around ok. Sometimes she will get nervous and meow until I pat her. I often have to talk to her or let her sit next to me so she will calm down. Shes a good kitty though.

On Wednesday of last week my Lizard friend passed away after 8 years. He was always in poor health and thus required a lot of my attention and a significant amount of babying involved. He was more or less my therapy animal though, but I did anticipate this was coming due to him having a rectal prolapse after a bowel movement a couple weeks before and slowly losing his appetite altogether. I took to force feeding him, something we did a year before when he stopped eating due to a parasite infection of some kind. He eventually rebounded from that and thankfully I got more time out of him.

The first time I took him to the Vet he wasn't given an optimistic prognosis due to us not buying him from a reptile show or private breeder. At most the Vet said he think he had 3 to 5 years on the optimistic side. That said, we had a wonderful and unique bond for the 8 years he was alive for and while I do miss him massively I am happy for the time he was in my life for. I feel like he saw me as more than just his feeding apparatus as he would often try to get my attention to get out and curl up on my lap. We buried him last Saturday at my dad's. RIP Solitaire. You are loved and missed.

Aw man... sorry to hear that. Long stories of long lives with pets are always a nice share, glad you felt you could do that with us. :(

Thanks Va'al for your condolences. :)

I am going to try to get a cat within the next couple of days. I am going to adopt a black short hair cat from a local rescue actually up north of me. I filled out the paperwork on Sunday and I am hoping to get to meet her this weekend and hopefully, if she likes me, I can bring her home with me. From my understanding she is quite the "lapcat" and is otherwise very loving. I would do another Monitor Lizard, but being on a fixed income is extraordinarily difficult to swing. I feel like an exception was made for me when I moved into this apartment place for me because of Housing's guidelines on the types of pets. So a cat should be more acceptable. I'm the kind of person that usually loves all animals. I am squeamish towards insects and spiders, but I understand if it is someone's baby.

Having a cat is a familiar experience with me. I used to have a cat up until 2007 when she passed after 19 years of loyalty. Then my last relationship, the person had two cats that I mostly bonded with as well until they passed. I always form deep meaningful bonds with animals over people I go to bring into my life though. The cat's name is Petunia, but is it sad I want to rename her Ravage or just a sign I'm obsessed? :P

On the funny side I'll be a sad old man with a cat now. XD

So true shajkai! I slipped into a really bad depression for a bit there after my last post and my dad and my friend pushed me to into adopting the cat further. That said, I adopted a wonderful cat from a local rescue that is so loving I really couldn't ask for more. She's very sweet, but also fundamentally a cat too so there's certain traits like pushing things off shelves or tables to get my attention. It really makes my grief a bit easier to sort through though and plus neutralizes a majority of my darker, negative, and otherwise turbulent emotions.

Here I am with her, and she's accepted me quite quickly. On top of that, she responds to "Ravage" and it's kind of cutely ironic as she's not destructive, but will show all kinds of love for being pet, held, and talked to. My favorite thing was when I said "Ravage: Eject! Operation: Cuddles!" and she came running actually. Totally hilarious. Working on getting the details sorted out for having an emotional support animal. My therapist and I talked on board and my property manager is working with me there. Overall she's accepted so I can rest easy in that case.

Happy to share!

Yeah, the kitty is doing good! She's been coming out from under the bed, playing with her toys, and just sitting out with me generally. Yesterday was roughly the first day I spent most of my time at home along with today. Only had to run some paperwork about a reasonable exception for Ravage so I don't get charged a pet deposit.

My cat always knows when I don't feel good, she helps me a lot too. I had some hectic stuff this weekend because a family member was very ill and needed surgery. My cat kinda knew I was worried and came to pester me. She does the same thing when I get sick too.

Animals are a lot smarter than we think. It's not just my cat that does this. I used to have a neighbor that had a German Sheppard. She used to have me house sit for her and feed the dog. Of course I would make sure to take her out and play fetch with her. One night I came over and I started to have a random panic attack. The doggie came over and put her head in my lap so I'd feel better. I was amazed because usually it was only my cat that would do something like that. Animals are great.

Empathic animals

My old boy Kingston does not like it when I'm mad. Like, even a little bit. Last night I was playing my new/old Gameboy game in bed before I went to sleep, and I'm a little rusty. So on parts I was messing up on I let out a "@#$!" here and there, but pretty quietly and calmly. Kingston didn't like that. Every time I did it he would climb up and go nose to nose with me giving me little licks like "relax dad"

Can't live without my pets. Like, I've literally had animals my whole life, even with my parents we'd always have at least a dog and a cat. I also rescue and care for a lot of strays (at one point I had 13 cats at 4 different places). Sadly, now my living situation doesn't allow me anything more than a couple of cats. We have two in our apartment, one is my roomates'(the big one) and the little one is mine (just picked up off our street haha). The big one is called Bubblegum and I still can't think of a name of the little guy (he's male), so if any of you have cool suggestions for a black cat, you're very much welcome.

Edit: Bubblegum died.
Also if you are looking for a good domain to buy, whether you need a special niche domain or some sort of keyword oriented domain, expired or active, you can check out these guys All Domains & Databases who have one of the largest ccTLD domain databases. Thanks for the attention. >:oP
