Shockwave's Tower ~'Arena'

Reforge grimmisted at Swindles words. Dealing with the dimunitive combaticon was one thing, garnishing no ill will, but to tell Havok and the towering Thrall that there cohort would fall... even with Cyclonus present seemed risky.
"I think I'll pass then Swindle."

One sweep in the CR is enough for this cycle.

Casting optics back to the fight, there was a curiosity over Bludgeon's mastery of the mythical cybertonian fighting style.

It can't all be this spiritual link to some 'ultimate warrior'. There must be some scientific connection to his craft and his core frame. Should he fall... I'll soon know!

The surgical seeker then thought of the boon it would be to repair either one of them. He hoped the loser's damage was critical enough that he could glean a tactical trait form there design. He heard rumor of the 'black death' back before he himself was reformatted into a sweep. The Corrupticon's endurance was among gladiatory legend. Although it was very rare for Bane to be seen in stasis, let alone while in the arena, it seemed even that didn't guarantee his opponents victory. Reforge hoped to learn the secret behind Bane's miraculous reboots in battle if not the composition of his armor's alloy.

>>I'll be wing side in under half a breem Thunder.<<

As Turbulence responded to Thundercracker's call to catch up, he couldn't help but process how quickly Firebat was taken out. The blue and bronze tetra jet accelerated into a barrel roll.

...but I hate leaving a fight unfought. True we're down in number and orders are orders but, where's the elite pride in that? Without my seeker pride and the struggles of this war what else do I have? I'm just glad that jet coasting home isn't me...

As Turbulence continued to his course, just reaching mach speed, he spotted another incoming S.A.M. closing in faster than he could accelerate. Having already slowed down to avoid the last attack evasion was not an option.

Heh, ...figures.

The explosion was taken as best a seeker could. His maneuvering placed the bulk of the damage on the top of his frame around the now cracked cockpit. Though the blast wasn't direct, it was enough to shake the flier off course. Turbulence fought to both regain flight control and his desire to retaliate against Sunstreaker if he did.

Pull up! This damage isn't as bad as Firebat's... Pull Up!! You were forged better than this... PULL UP!!!

Thinking what good is high grade armor if you still crash from one missile, Turbulence was surprised when he righted himself and arced skyward again. The seeker unaccustomed to voicing his relief so did the next best thing.

>> Better make that a breem Cracker. That missile took the worst of it. <<

Scanners IDed the source of the last missile, and Turbulence would remember this golden warrior.

Bravo's disheartening realisation that they might have to give up the chase changed once Turbulence was hit. "Wahoo! Good shooting Sunstreaker. I'll get him down the rest of the way." With this, Bravo flared on his afterburners once more, and shot off.

As he closed with the stricken Seeker, Bravo fired off a burst from his nose lasers, mainly as a warning shot. "Ok Decepticon, you've got 20 astroseconds to dump your missiles and surrender. Otherwise, I'll have to shoot you down. Or cut you up, if you'd brefer it that way."

Thundercracker closed in on the rendezvous position with Skywarp with the Autobots were in tow, not yet within firing range. The Seekers had the advantage of speed over their Autobot counterparts. This would give them enough time to get a bit organized for the coming battle.

"Alright Skywarp these Autobots are in for it now. They took out Firebat already. Now it's our turn to do some damage. This will be fun, just like the old days."

------------------------------------------------------------------

Scattershot could only watch as the Seekers slowly outran him. He decelerated slightly so Strafe and Bravo wouldn't miss all the fun. His scanners showed the two remaining Seekers from the squadron joining up with three more. He figured the five on three odds were in their favor. It meant one for Strafe, one for Bravo, and three for himself. Or, if everything went well he'd be bragging back in Autobase Prime about how he took down a squad of five Seekers. The idea sounded good to him.

His nosecone split apart down the center and folded back revealing his pulse cannon. He took a bead on one of the Seekers and waited until he was in range knowing that he would have plenty of time to get a couple of good shots in.

Thanatos--Bridge

Shockwave had listened to the primary components that consisted of Skyjack's report. Once both variables had been analyzed, a response was quickly forthcoming. There were no other sizable Decepticon crafts scheduled for launch at this time. The sudden appearance of Autobots gave an immediate indication to the Military Operations Commander of what exactly was occuring. Their own timetable would have to adjust accordingly.

"The Seekers will perform their standard function. We will not deviate from our mission."

Shockwave then turned his attention from addressing Skyjack to addressing the crew at large, his singular glowing optic intently focused upon the large viewscreen in front of them. Despite the fact that there was a battle now occuring within their immediate vicinity, he would not have the Decepticons' natural sparklust override their current directives.

"Imperatives: Initiate launch. Continue monitoring the Seeker situation for as long as we are in range. Engage only those Autobots who would move to intercept our course."

A high-priority transmission from the Tagan Heights arrived and was routed directly to Cyclonus, newly-appointed city commander of Polyhex.

Much obliged. Roadblock out.

The brief, almost flippant transmission ended there, followed by the authorization codes from Kolkular.

"Hmph, that would leave me 10 astroseconds of boardom after scattering your frame across the boarder."

Turbulence didn't think he could restrain himself after hearing Bravo's challenge; fortunately, after seeing Skywarp, a green seeker, and Nightraid at the rally site, he knew he didn't have to.

Hmm... to think this mini-mech also wields a blade... If he survives he may yet taste my blade...

With warning shots passing under his wing the cobalt and bronze seeker had time to fully regain his flight control and re-engage tactical parameters. He continued to climb and accelerate rather than directly assault the small Autobot. Once at the summit of his climb he transformed, pointing his torque turrets toward Bravo and contacting his fellow seekers.

>>Thundercracker, I think I've made a new friend. Preparing to terminate.<<

Wondering If Bravo could keep up, the air warrior queried his foe, "In war, warnings end in less wounded but with more deactivated. So tell me Autobot, what good is nobility if you forfeit your spark?"

Loosing what smirk he had, Turbulence fired with solemn features.

Didn't think he'd take the offer. Still, worth it to try.

Bravo followed the Seeker in his climb, watching as the distance between them still seemed to be receding slightly despite the Seekers damage. I'm gonna melt my afterburners just keeping up if it stays like this.

As Torque rounds flashed past him, Bravo began a series of spins and sideslips to throw off the Seekers aim, keeping as small a profile presented while blasting with his own lasers.

"What good is it to live forever, Decepticon, if your life has no nobility in it? I'll kill you if I have to, I just thought you'd like the option."

A wiser Autobot might have noticed how far awy his allies were, and how close his enemies were. Bravo only saw a chance to prove himself.

Shockwave's Tower ~ Arena

It was all too amusing for Havok as he stared back into the grinning face of Hun-Grrr. The 'Threat' of him telling Megatron about Havok's opinion made it difficult to keep a straight face, as it seemed unlikely to the Corrupticon that the supreme ruler of the Decepticon army would really be bothered about the opinion of one of his subbordinates regarding the fighting abilities of one of the members of his gladiator team from before the war. Very unlikely.

If that wasn't enough, Onslaught inserting himself into the situation in some kind of vain attempt to disarm the situation also provided much comic relief to Havok, A) becuase it was ultimately futile, and B) because he fell into the common misconception that he was the smartest of the Corrupticons. While Havok was no idiot, Bane was by far and away, the most intelligent of the Corrupticons. The misconception arose from the Black Death's abrasive and borderline psychopathic nature, that lead others to believe him to be little more than a violent and dangerous tool of war. This suited Bane down to the ground, as it meant he could use it to his advantage and end a fight before his opponent generally knew what was going on.

Havok was often seen as the brains behind the Corrupticons, mainly because of the much calmer and more balanced way in which he went about his business, logic played a big part in his decision making, and the situation with Hun-Grrr was no different. At the beginning of the altercation, Havok saw 2 options, the first being to ignore the insults, harsh words and general berating being sent his way, and meakly distance himself from Hun-Grrr, displaying a general impression of weakness to all those present.

Or, he could take the 2nd option, the one he did in fact choose, which was to not take the Terrorcon Commander's drawl lieing down, to in fact give as good as he recieved. On the face of it, a very risky, almost suicidal choice, to insult an often pissed off, very large, twin headed dragon, but Havok always was one who would prefer to be seen as a bit crazy rather than as a coward, there were no places within the Decepticon ranks for cowards... Starscream being the only exception to that rule, whereas there would always be a place for those willing to take on big odds.

The Dark Grey Corrupticon's logic was further evident by the fact that he chose to insult Hun-Grrr, safe in the knowledge that it was unlkikely he would suffer any physical repercussions, on account of Thrall's presence. The Terrorcon Commander was without doubt a formidable foe, but not even he could take on both Havok and Thrall and emerge victorious, had it been just Havok by himself, perhaps he would not have been so free with his words, as he knew that one on one, he didn't have enough to take Hun-Grrr down. It would be a fantastic fight, extremely close, but the simple matter of the Terrorcon Commander's design being more durable and more powerful than Havok would ultimately result in his victory.

"Oh come now Hun-Grrr.." Havok began in reply, after a long pause, in which he weighed up his options, knowing full well what his new 'friend' wanted "..Surely you aren't proposing that you waste your time with a wannabe such as myself, there must be some more worthy adversary out there just waiting to be munched up by you.." The Corrupticon continued, as sincerely as anyone could "..Besides, I'm no expert, but surely 'Bots must be more satsifying to you than 'Cons, no?"

"And who said I intend to live forever? You Autobot's fight for an ideal you will never achieve and a world I could never live in."

As Bravo evaded the shots from Turbulence's torque turrets, his own aim suffered nearly the same. What laser fire that did hit him presented limited results. If not for it stacking on with the earlier blast from Sunstreaker the well armored warrior would have finished this fight in the air. After all, with the other seekers wing side victory was all but assured.

But were would the struggle be in that?

Turbulence was never one to take the easy road. His warrior pride would prefer a plausible defeat to an assured victory. Fighting the minijet in this high of an altitude stacked the battle in his own favor too much for the seeker's liking, and there were so few Autobots with a robot flight mode, so he'd decided to even the odds by diving to meet Bravo head on.

"You mentioned cutting me down Autobot..." The cobalt and bronze seeker spat as his own frame slammed into Bravo's small contours. The damage to his chest was now apparent having taken another laser volley before impact. Turbulence used his leg and wing thrusters to attempt to alter the minibot's course as he held on. With the altitude and thin atmosphere, going up was no longer an option for either of them.

"Survive this landing and you may challenge the blade of a seeker elite. Let your sword speak of your nobility."

The seeker wanted to know the metal of one so small but willing to face him and certain doom. Was this minibot weak or has the seeker swordmech found a worthy opponent? His spark whispered yes but his processor and tactical algorithms screamed no.

Shockwave's Tower – ‘Arena’

"Very well" Bane said, following Bludgeon's movements like a cheetah, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Bludgeon might be the best among the practitioners of Metallikato, but Bane mastered several other martial arts that he had incooperated into his very own unique fighting style. The Black Death was more than just a mere warrior, he was a real Decepticon, combining combat and deception to archieve victory. Fighting Bane was tricky as there always seemed to be a flaw in his fighting style, often resulting in his opponents being lured into a trap. Bludgeon was probably too experienced and too intelligent to do such a mistake, but at least it might cause some frustration or stress.

Without notice, the Corrupticon psychopath swiftly parried the last of Bludgeon's attacks and countered with a low roundhouse kick, aiming to bring the Master of Metallikato down on the floor. In the very same movement, he followed up with one of his swords in an attack slightly further up. Either Bludgeon would fall down or he would jump and get struck by a sword... or perhaps the martial artist had suprise up his metal sleeves?

Shockwave's Tower – ‘Arena’

Bludgeon's reaction to the move was strange as he allowed the blow to hit him, but moved with it to diminish the blow. The fast and far small Decepticon allowed the blow to slam him to the side but in the air he twirled and used one leg to push himself back, towards his opponent, blade first while Bane still was a bit out of balance by his powerful kick. The blade was aimed for a pressure point near his shoulder which he had identified as a flaw. If he had remained to defend he was certain Bane would have lashed out strongly,so he had reacted like this. Diminished the blow's power by reacting prematurely to it and used the momento granted by imbalance to take initiative.
Still the blow had hit him hard and though damage was not yet visible he was aware that he couldn't pull a stunt like this again. His future moves would need to dodge and parry not try something like this. But that mattered not if he succeeded with this move. If he could wound Bane's arm, his style would diminish in part granting him some leverage in the battle ahead against the Black Death.

By the look on Motormaster's face, he could have as well been roaring 'The slag you are sitting still and rolling your thumbs?! Shockwave gave you an order!' to the various Decepticons that had positioned themselves around the command stations of the massive battlecruiser's bridge. Still, the notorious Decepticon held his tongue for Thanatos was now under Shockwave's command and the ancient mechanoid was not known for his patience towards those under his command. And despite his fearsome reputation, Motormaster did not wish to test Shockwave's patience towards him just yet. After all, by the looks of it he was going to spend far longer time than he would have liked to serving under direct command of the military operations commander and on an infiltration mission. Indeed, near future did not look all that enjoyable from Motormaster's perspective.

Recovering more quickly this time, Bravo took stock. Don't panic, he seems to be going for showy. I can do showy. Bravo twisted, fired off a thruster to get a better angle. A leg emerged, then the arms. Finishing his transformation but still tight in the much stronger Seeker's grip, Bravo completed the last step: Deploying his bonded bladed, which flewfrom the holster in his back to an awkwarly placed hand as surely as a beam of light.

"Why wait...for the landing?" Bravo found purchase and swung his blade into Turbulence's wing and jet assembly.

Shockwave's Tower--Cryostasis Chambers

As if a switch had simply been flipped, Sunstorm's processing capacities went from simply reviewing archived data to actively analyzing his current surroundings. As the chamber completes its final reactivation protocols--protocols that had been engaged from some distance away--Sunstorm registered the audible hiss as an assortment of wires and tubings were disconnected from his body. In additional, the pinkish-purple fluid that had filled the chmaber quickly drained allowing the Seeker's optics to visualize his surroundings in their standard color scheme.

Sunstorm emerged from the chamber, wiping some of the excess fluid from his arms as an image of his Commander appeared on a screen nearby.

"Reactivation completed. You are to resume primary operational functions immediately."

"Am I to join you, Commander?" Sunstorm asked as he fell to one knee, respectfully.

"Negative. You will find all of the necessary tactical summaries within your authorized mission log. Fullfill them as directed. I will be...occupied...elsewhere."

At this news, Sunstorm looked up. He did not like the sound of this. There were two mechanoids on Cybertron whom he respected more than any others: Megatron, for giving him new purpose...and Shockwave, for giving him new means to carry out said purpose. To have one--or possibly both--of them leave was a most disconcerting reality. Still, he would fulfill his duty as it was commanded to him.

"Understood, Commander Shockwave. For the glory of god-emperor Megatron!" Sunstorm exclaimed, having risen to his feet. Shockwave's sole optic flickered almost unnoticeably before the transmission faded altogether. Not wasting a moment's time, Sunstorm left the cryostasis chambers in search of the command center. He would carry out the will of the Decepticon command, whatever it might be.

Thanatos--Bridge

It took some time for all of the ships varied readings to begin displaying the requisite information needed to undergo a successful launch of this nature. Once they had, Reflector took it upon himself to activate the final sequences.

"Engaging launch protocols," the Decepticon trio reported as a tremor reverberated throughout the entirety of the vessel.

"Commencing."

And with that, the Thanatos began its slow and steady progress in to the surrounding airspace.

Shockwave's Tower--Command Center

The Decepticon Air Commandant had only recently learned of his assumption of command responsibilities for the area, due to Shockwave's transference to another assignment. Cyclonus did not give the matter much additional thought. These were violent times for the Decepticons, but also times where great progress could be made. He would play his part to see it done.

Using his new command codes, Cyclonus entered the spacious control room where the Military Operations Commander had performed the majority of his function over the vorns. Contacting Megatron from here would indeed be much more secure than anything he might attempt on his own. He was subtle, yes, but he was no Soundwave when it came to the creation and manipulation of encrypted frequencies. Better to use preestablished links that had been created for exactly that purpose. Whatever the consequences, the Decepticon Leader needed to be informed of what Thundercracker and the others had observed.

>>"Lord Megatron, I come to you with new information. It appears as though Thundercracker has registered an inordinate amount of Autobot activity in and around the boundaries of Iacon. The most recent field report indicated that it was a large craft. It's apparent destination--Nova Cronum. Pending further orders, I have given them instructions to track the vehicle but remain out of Autobot airspace."<<

As was standard when a subordinate was contacting a superior, Cyclonus left the channel open for Megatron to respond or ignore as he wished. It was then that he noticed another priority message had been transmitted to Polyhex's internal servers. It was a personnel transfer of some significance. The importance of Polyhex in the overall Decepticon strategem was clearly decreasing. How that would ultimately play out was unknown to him, but he would follow through unquestioningly. It was his duty.

Cyclonus activated commlinks directly with each of the individuals that had been listed on the personnel transfer report.

>>"Combaticons--Bludgeon--Rampage...it has been ordered by Megatron that you are to proceed to the Tagan Heights, wherein you will be placed under the command of Roadblock. Further orders will be given upon arrival. Your respective service records here were of the quality I have come to expect. Cyclonus out."<<

Cyclonus then opened one final link after closing out the last, confirming with the Ground Forces Commander that the moves were in progress.

>>"Transfer request received. Requested forces will be en route within five breems."<<

Formalities handled, the Air Commandant waited patiently for Megatron's response.

Thanatos – Bridge

Darkwing and Dreadwind were exactly enthused at the sound of a possible battle with Autobots. Surely some suicidal Autobot would make a run at the ship’s bridge, unleashing a barrage of fire that would be just enough to slag the both of them. They were going to have to be at their best to survive the launch.

Darkwing tapped in a series of commands into his console. “Weapons are hot and targeting scanners are online. No Autobots in range yet.”

Dreadwind chimed in with his own report. “Defensive screens are fully powered up and activated.”

At the very least that suicidal Autobot was going to have to do some work to take the two of them down.

Shockwave's Tower – Arena

Hun-Grrr snickered. “I don’t see any Autobots around here to fight. Not too many real Cons either.” The few Decepticons left watching the match weren’t exactly the best of the best. A few scattered Seekers and Sweeps and a few random other Decepticons. Basically the leftovers. Everyone else was out on patrol or on assignment elsewhere. Polyhex was quickly becoming a bit of a backwater now.

As if confirming his thoughts the new orders came down from Cyclonus. He frowned as his name was mentioned among those being transferred. The Tagan Heights was where the action was now and the energon. Everything he really wanted was there, and yet here he was, stuck with the losers. He would just have to make the best out of a bad situation.

“Ah look, Bludgeon has to be leaving. Now maybe one of you wannabes can step into the arena with me, unless you’d rather watch me humiliate your boss in front of you?” He smirked down at the two Corrupticons.

Thanatos – Bridge

Skyjack's disposition got a little more uneasy upon hearing about the autobot warship. the scans showed it was more than a match for the Thanatos, and could possibly do a number on the aged battleship. he kept issuing scans. Fortunatly, the scans showed that the ship was unaware of the Thanatos, or the Autobots at all. It looked like Primus was on their side. Or Unicron, at least. He reported his findings to Shockwave. Pain pierced Turbulence's processor as Bravo brandished his blade and began to embed it into the seeker's side. Without his own weapon ready it was all he could do to release the Autobot. He'ld have to manage his own landing in Decepticon territory amidst a devastated city block.

"Peace is an ideal that is long dead."

Turbulence remembered well the words spoken by his reformatter. It was the betrayal by the High Council of Autobots that forced Megatron's hand so long ago. Or so he was told.

We've tried things their way; now it is time for our way. Decepticons will not be the second class citizens of Cybertron, not when we can be the next great empire of the galaxy.

The cobalt and bronze warrior slowed his decent with internal flight module, leg thrusters, and then the better half of an unstable roof top. Battered but unbroken Turbulence charged in the direction of Bravo, drawing his sonic sword.

"And so blows the wind of war ...Autobot."

Had Turbulence not been so easily drawn into single battle, his fellow seekers might have finished his foe long ago. It would only be a matter of time before the Autobot force were able to return the favor.

Shockwave's Tower – ‘Arena’

Bludgeon's reflexes and improvisation-skills were quite impressive. The Master of Metallikato had managed to counter despite him being wounded just an astrosecond earlier.

Bane was not exactly out of balance, but in his current stature he had relative limited mobility and Bludgeon had foreseen that. The blade vibrated a bit as it struggled through the initial layer of Bane's armored shoulder plate. After countless battles and even more arena matches, Bane's instincts was attuned to combat, and both his body and mind reacted in perfect synchronization as he used his free hand to stop the blade with his claws. Popping up from between his knockles, the claws haltered the blades course and locked it before it could hit the pressure point, which Bane had figured had been Bludgeon's aim.

"Impressive" Bane's voice was disturbingly calm, though somehow still wild".. but futile" and kicked towards the neck/head section of his opponent, while using his strenght to try keep the blade locked with his claws.

Shockwave's Tower -'Arena'

Bane was good and this would prove a tough battle.
Bane's blows would each be crippling but Bludgeon was quicker in reflexes and agility and would exploit that. Against what seemed common sense, Bludgeon let go of his sword and twirled away using his fingertips to lash out at specific pressure points using the technique of Metalikato... the precize application of blows on structural weakness. Twirling around him, he arrived behind him and prepared to deliver a powerful blow.
"The sword is a valuable and ideological extension of my arm... but I am the weapon in the end" Bludgeon said. If Bane expected him to go out just because he lost his sword than he was in for a rude awakening. He suddenly jumped up and performed a fierce high kick.

It was then Bludgeon's comm activated.

Further orders will be given upon arrival. Your respective service records here were of the quality I have come to expect. Cyclonus out."<<
Bludgeon landed in a crouch and looked at Bane. "A shame" he said.
He bowed lightly but his eyes remained fixed on Bane.
"It seems i shall be leaving..." the Master of Metalikato said "Your performance was most admirable... congratulations" Bludgeon stated with his low grim voice. Recovering his blade he then made his way out. Duty called and he was not one to leave orders unanswered.
His mind was still spinning from Bane's fierce hit though.
The mass of onlookers stepped asside to let the Master pass.
