This is the story submission thread. Just like character applications, you should use a pre-made template to apply for a story you made up, seen below. Once a story is approved, the Moderators will open a thread in which it will take place.

Title: The title you wish to give a story (i.e. The Siege of Polyhex)

Story Author: The username you use at the RPG. This is important so that players are able to contact you to ask to include their characters in the story, make suggestions, or work out details and possible touches to the whole concept.

Characters: List the characters to be played in the story. Before doing so, you are to discuss your ideas with the players of the characters. You cannot involve a character in a storyline that the character's player does not want to play!

Story Description: Describe the plot that you wish to transpire in the story. Starting point, ending point, location, etc. You do not need to list each and every bit of information, if you plan on a few surprises during the actual play, but you need to share enough for the Moderators judging the application to be able to grasp the concept.

Note: don't be afraid to start communicating with other players to work out storylines together. Use PMs, IM channels, the Brainstorming or the Chatterbox threads.

Title: Tunnel Rats

Story Author: WithoutMorals

Characters: Open story. Contrail (fanmade Seeker), Prowl, the Throttlebots

Story Description: Following the raid on Fort Rememberance, Contrail, the Seeker Scorched Earth Tactics expert, has gone underground with a scheme to make sure the Autobots pay dearly for their occupation of Antihex.

The Throttlebots, sent on patrol by Autobot strategist Prowl, encounter the Seeker, but he manages to flee into the tunnels that honeycomb the province. The Autobots know whatever he's up to can't be good. But who to send?

On the other side, Ravage, now commanding the Decepticons in Antihex, knows that Contrail is planning something. But dare he send troops into the tunnels to aid Contrail, even though whatever the sabateour has planned could very well kill them as well?

Dark, cramped tunnels. All the agility in the world won't help you if you can't move. Plus, Contrail is in his element, laying down traps that could ensnare friend and foe alike. Tunnel fighting has always been one of the fiercest forms of combat in warfare. Whose will is stronger?

Title: Decepticon R&D.

Author: Psychout (or Shockwave if mods deem it).

Premise: A research facility within Polyhex of the Decepticons that manufactures 'weapons of the week(TM)' for Megatron/Shcokwave/etc. to try and take over the galaxy with. Those crazy ideas have got to come from somewhere...

Characters: Psychout, Mal Practice, Shockwave (when i find his owner), open to absolutely any decepticon scientist/tech skilled type, minor interest for combat characters as most of what is made will ideally need to be be field tested by them.

Story: Ongoing Decepticon R&D Lab in the style of Shockwaves scheming to save cybertron and economise its energy, irrespective of cost of transformer or any o
ther type of life, and weapons research and development. Reports to Shockwave. Enables those with a tech skill to eventually create technology such as (used as examples only): pretenders, headmasters, dinobots, clones and multichangers etc. for use in the game here.

The fun in this story is finding the required components, stealing the schematics, and selling it all to the highest bidder. Between discoveries, working as a surgeon providing reformats and maintenance for those unable to do so themselves, and politics where available. This will take a long time...

Not expecting many to jump at the idea but PM if you are interested in a less 'direct' game.

Motto: "Feed them to the Sharkticons!"
Title: Insatiable

Story Author: Longshot

Characters: Open story

Story Description: With Decepticon forces suffering their most inglorious defeat in recent memory at the Siege of Polyhex, the High Command is eager to find a means both of punishing the Autobot attackers and securing the fractured borders of their Empire against further incursion. To this end, the Decepticons have developed a very special fuel additive: self-replicating nano-machines (Nanocons, if you will) that migrate to a mechanoid's cerebral circuitry via the energon distribution system, where they proceed about their diabolical function. That function being the complete rewiring of the infected robot, eliminating all but the most basic cognitive processes.

The resultant creature possesses only the most rudimentary intelligence, it's whole being dominated by the primal need of all Cybertronians for energon. With little individuality and no sense of self-preservation whatsoever, the infected savagely tear apart any source of energy they can find, from power generators to other mechs, with improvised weapons or bare hands. And they are capable of passing the nano-machines infesting their systems on to others.

Due to the structural similarities between Autobot and Decepticon cerebro-circuitry, it was impossible to program the nano-machines to distinguish between the two with an acceptable level of accuracy. The Empties, however--the scavengers, neutrals, and other Cybertronians who have spent most of the war keeping their cranial units down without offering allegiance to either faction--are somewhat more primitive in design. Once the infection was introduced to the population of Empties eking out a living on the fringes of Nova Cronum, it was thought only a matter of time before the ravenous, ready-made army descended upon the high-powered weapons systems of the Maximus Line.

But the infection spread with far greater speed than the Decepticons ever intended. When the nano-machines were brought online, maddened Empties appeared not only in Nova Cronum, but on the borders of Polyhex, Iacon, and even Kaon itself. And rather than concentrating on the Autobot defenses, the ragged horde began rampaging with singleminded fury toward the contested territory of the Tagan Heights. If the energy-rich city-state were to be overrun by the Empties, it would be a terrible blow to both sides in the ongoing war.

Alternatively:

The nano-machines could as easily have been developed by Autobot scientists attempting to find a means of alleviating the impact of the planetwide energy shortage on noncombatants. In this scenario, the additive's original purpose was to make such mechanoids more energy efficient, and would seem to work at first, until the buildup of nano-machines in critical systems leads to a similar state as the deliberate Decepticon infection, with identical consequences for the population of Empties. This is more of good intentions gone horribly wrong sort of angle.

Title: Into the Depths

Story Author: Longshot

Characters: Open story (4-5 players)

Story Description: A small-scale story which could be adapted to either Autobot or Decepticon players (or both, conceivably). An infiltration squad is ordered into the the labyrinth of largely-unexplored tunnels far, far below the surface of Cybertron, and charged with locating alternative points of entry into enemy territory (alternatively, it could be a simple exploration assignment, for the 'Bots). Naturally, things go horifically wrong.

It starts when the group stumbles upon an ancient chamber, lost for millions of years in the subterranean recesses of Cybertron. A single, large stasis-pod of unknown manufacture rests at the center, and around this strange device are archaic computer terminals and other equipment, and indecipherable, spidery hieroglyphics. Unfortunately, their presence disturbs the long-dormant machinery, deactivating the stasis-pod and releasing the timeless horror within . . .

The squad must then find some means of escape from the maze-like warren--or a method of neutralizing that which hunts them, a relentless monstrosity from the dark prehistory of Cybertron.

Title: Seekers vs. Sweeps

Authors: Lotsa people

Characters Involved: Starscream, Cyclonus, Scourge, canon and non-canon Seekers and Sweeps

Story Description: More of a broad idea than a complete plot yet, this has been brought up by several players. With the introduction of the Sweeps ostensibly to replace the Seekers as the Decepticons' air force, tensions will run high as Starscream attempts to remain relevant with new powerhouses like Cyclonus and Scourge on the scene. As well, the veteran Seekers will feel threatened by the Sweeps and their possibly (arguably? obviously?) superior abilities.

Already conflicts are cropping up in Kaon as the Seekers get their first look at the "new breed." What will happen when the Sweeps get their first crack at the Autobots in the Tagan Heighs? What will happen when the Seekers and Sweeps are forced to co-exist by their superiors? Or will their superiors be content to let the Seekers slip into obsolescence...

So, get involved. Look at the profiles here, write up a sample roleplay, and get in on the fun!

A couple of plots to help push the war forward:

---

Title: The Burning of Iacon
Author: Tybre/Skydive
Characters: Open Story.
Description: See below

The Burning of Iacon

Iacon – the astounding fortress has long stood as the homestead and primary military base of the Autobots. She has survived countless attacks and attempted invasions. She has even endured past wars. But the long standing fortress is growing old and with the war raging Autobot forces are wearing thin. Both sides are perfectly aware of the weakening state of the city.

The Decepticons, eager to gain the upper hand, have been closely watching Iacon for some time. Scouts discuss themselves as street lights and crates near the entrance. Minicons fly overhead, peering through the dome. All units deployed have scanned for weaknesses and found the weakest points. They have also learned the general Autobot schedule. With timing perfect and the weak spots memorized, the Decepticons now stand before Iacon, about to launch the attack that will determine the fate of the city.

The Autobots do their best to strengthen weak spots, but in these times of war supplies and men are scarce, often forcing them to leave these points unguarded. Already the search has begun for a new headquarters, but so far nothing has been found. As the Decepticons prepare to mount their ultimate attack, the Autobots scurry about, trying their best to reinforce the fortress city before it is too late.

Both sides stand ready. Both sides have fought long and hard. It has all lead up to this. If Iacon should fall, the Autobots would be left scattered across the Cybertron without a common home, leaving them crippled. If the Decepticons fall, the Autobots would be temporarily free to rebuild Iacon or even find a new, better base. Whatever the outcome may be, it will ultimately bring all of Cybertron closer to the end of the war.

Notes:
*Iacon does not necessarily have to fall, even if the Decepticons win, it will basically just be in terrible shape and be an easy target.
*The only unit-based requirement is that the Decepticons must begin with at least 1 more person than the Autobots.

Weapon: Automatic Acid-Pellet Gun
Title: Guns of Polyhex

Author: Alpha Strike

Characters

Autobots:
Nova Strike - Mission Leader
Forte - Warrior
Recon Specialist
Freeway - Sabotage Specialist
Communication/Computer Specialist
Scoop - Warrior

Decepticons:
Combaticons

Story:

Autobot morale across the held territories is at an all time low. Wounded are still pouring in from across the front as survivors from the fall of Tagon Heights threaten to flood Iacon's abilities to repair and rearm... To make matters all the more humiliating for the Autobot forces, Omega Supreme their greatest asset was effectively forced from Polyhex by the power of a rebuilt army.

Prowl and his senior staff are fully aware of the current status of their forces, even though they had not been directly exposed to the hell of the Tagon invasion. They enter discussions about possible next steps to securing their borders along Polyhex in order to keep from repeating what had happened only days before. It is also apparent that the Decepticons have been able to establish newer defenses, powerful enough to even drive Omega Supreme out. These guns are too much of a threat now to be allowed to exist any longer.

It is determined that a small force must be dispatched to evade Decepticon defenses and enter Polyhex. From there they must move towards the location of the large weapons, from at this point had been moved into position just inside their firing range of Nova Cronum's front line.

The Objective of this force is quite simple, destroy the Decepticon batteries. But this will not be easy, latest reports has them guarded by the Combaticons. Brute strength and firepower will not be enough to complete this objective, it will take cunning and thinking outside of the box for success.

Once the objective is met, the next challenge of the strike team is to retreat back to Nova Cronum, with out being turned to puddles of molten metal. However unbeknownst to them, they will stumble upon a supply depot. The supplies are being loaded and unloaded into hover transports destined to various bunker locations along the Polyhex Bunker line. There they face the problem of, leave it for an Aerialbot air strike, or take care of the depot now and risk being captured or worse.

Weapon: Dark Saber Sword
Title: Sweep stakes
(This title is open to any and all suggestions for improvement)

Author: Light Blade

Characters: Open story

Required Autobots;
Scientists, Technicians, Tactitians etc.
Test subjects – preferably warriors

Possibly Required Decepticons;
Sweeps

Story

The dangerous new threat posed by the Sweeps now threatens to not only place the Autobots on the defensive, but also threatens to quash all thoughts of challenging Decepticon air supremacy. At the bequest of the Autobot high command, a team of elite Autobot scientists and a small number of brave volunteers have established a secret research laboratory, hoping to produce something that will allow the Autobots to counter the Sweep threat.

The volunteers will be tested to their limits, physically and mentally. They’ll be thrown together in highly stressful and demanding situations, maybe a sense of group identity will develop, maybe intense rivalry. The tech team tries whatever it can think of, many ideas fail, a few succeed. Autobot tacticians will analyse all available data ad they try to come up with effective battle strategies.

(Possibly put to the test fending off a real Sweep attack due to the discovery of the base by a Decepticon scouting team.)

Whatever happens the newly discovered technology will prove so dangerous to the users that the project will be shut down - locked away in an archive of technology to use at the final stand. How will those involved cope watching that technology, representing more than most will ever know to them be shelved.

(This story should be a good place for character development. Scientist working on and justifying morally grey ideas, The test subjects being subjected to extreme stress, having to cope with injuries, continued failure and the apparent hopelessness of the situation)

Weapon: Automatic Acid-Pellet Gun
Prelude to the Victor

Author: Alpha Strike

Insperation: J

Characters
Autobots:

Protectobots
-Hotspot
-Streetwise
-First Aid
-Groove
-Blades

Prowl
Trailbreaker
Sunstreaker
Sideswipe
Two Free Autobots - preferably fliers

Decepticons:

Constructicons
-Scrapper
-Hook
-Longhaul
-Bonecrusher
-Mixmaster
-Scavenger

three members of a Decepticon Patrol in Tagan.

Objective - Take down Devastator

Basic Story: Autobots are in dire need of an advantage on Cybertron. With the Decepticon's sporting the new Pretender Technology and the recent loss of the Tagan Heights, morale is slowly beginning to erode. Still the Autobots prepare to fight on. They begin to remobilize their remaining forces with in Iacon while the LSC does their things in Uraya and hosting raids in the southern portions of Tagan itself and Tyrest.

Meanwhile the Decepticons are using their greatest advantage in constructions, the Constructicons, to begin to rebuild the structures and factories damaged or destroyed in their recent invasion. As well as optimize existing equipment, success would give the Decepticons an even greater resources advantage than ever before. The Constructicons are the great advantage that would turn the tides of the war through their technical skills, not to mention the very presense of Devastator in battle.

Thus it is settled, during a meeting between the Protectobot team members, the Constructicons are the optimal targets to remove from the calculations of any pending invasion of the Heights. Thus after hours of discussion a strategy is formed by where the autobots would work to lure them into battle.

A trap would be set at a predetermined point, surrounded by various structures and geographic features to help obscure the towering bohemoths should the combiners be required. Far enough away to ensure enough time of get away and to keep decepticon reinforcements from reaching the site before the battle is over. And Trailbreaker. The entire design of the plan would completely isolate the Constructicons in a ring of autobot guns with the Protectobots as the hammer. Trailbreaker would be the final seal on that isolation as he would literally cut off as many communication's frequencies as he is able.

Will the Autobots be able to negate the Decepticon's greatest advantage before Trailbreaker's fuel runs out and the jamming ends? Will the Constructicons manage to get away by the aluminum of their fenders? And what of the Decepticon patrol that is missing from their routes?

Stay Tuned Transformers fans.

Stage Two

Characters

Autobots:
Throttlebots
-Rollbar
-Chase
-Wideload
-Freeway

Scoop
Road Rage
Brawn
Repugnus

Decepticons:

Roadblock
Bugly
Octopunch

Story Basics:

The Constructicons have been knocked about pretty badly by the Protectobots during the ambush. That victory has set the stage for the first truly deep incursion back into Tagan for supplies and of course to do what is most needed now that the best decepticon engineers are on the sidelines. Optimus finally aquesses to the second phase of the build up plan to retake the Heights. He orders a new strike force to be formed around the Throttlebots, consisting of two heavy combat soldiers and two soldiers experienced in sabotage and misinformation.

The initial target for this group is a factory complex a few mega klicks from Autobase Tau. It was on the verge of complete restoration at the time of the Decepticon invasion and would have probably already been completed by the Constructicons before their earlier exit. Their objective is two fold, steal as much energon as they can manage as well as equipment deemed "easy pickings."

Their second objective, once the equipment is safely on its way back, is to begin rigging the complex for destruction. However those who are left to complete the job will find that their task is alot easier said than it is done. For at the time they are near completion, a patrol lead by the Pretender Commander himself Roadblock arrives at the factory with two of his pretender minions and a cargo sledge.

It is apparent that they are there for the latest Energon Shipment back to Tau... seeing as the Constructicon's were unable to accomplish this task in their present condition. The Autobots prepare for battle while final charges are set.

Will the complex be saved by the Destructive Decepticons, or will it be sent into smoldering ruin by the deveptively aggressive Autobot Patrol? Can the transport get his precious cargo back to Iacon before the forces of evil catch up to him? Find out...

Weapon: Energo-Sword
Prelude to the Victor is an unrealistic plan. Sneaking over ten Autobots into Decepticon territory completely undetected isn't going to happen, especially since none of the Autobots listed are anywhere near well suited for such an infiltration. On top of that I don't see them being able to then set up an ambush in the same Decepticon territory. Also, a fight between 20 Transformers isn't going to stay secret for long, even if their is jamming. If combiners are formed everyone in the Tagan Heights will almost instantly know about it. Also I want to make sure you are aware Alpha Strike, but the Protectobots are not front line soldiers. This plan is very aggressive for them and puts the Autobots lone combiner team at extreme risk. Should the Decepticons capture or incapacitate just one Protectobot, highly likely given the Autobots are in Decepticon territory, then Defensor is out of the picture. I don't see Prime approving a plan that sends a team into such a dangerous situation.

Stage two also seems unfeasible. Even assuming phase one went off and was successful, security in the Heights will be even tighter and sneaking in another team will be virtually impossible. Not all of the Throttlebots are particularly skilled at such an infiltration mission. Octopunch and Bugly are not Pretenders yet. Both phases also discount the numerous Sweeps present in the Heights. These missions are just too big and too bold to be pulled off.

Oh boy, unrealistic? Eh for the most part nearly everything we do with in the board is unrealistic... but thats splitting hairs.

I am also pleasantly aware of the Protectobot's limitations as an offensive unit. The cons managed to sneek in several heavily armed units into Tagan mind you, so its not inconceivable to get smaller forces into that territory from the North, West or East. Heck the Protectobots only have three dedicated warriors, the other two won't fight, hense the need for a larger group. Plus who knows perhaps we'd be able to knock out a constructicon in the early goings and prevent the combiners from ever appearing.

I am honestly interested in this series of five chapters that would have ended with a truly divided Tagan. Lets see if we can brainstorm a way to get these stories into a working angle. And please remember, even though security will be tightened heavily, there will always be ways into Tagan. Be they underground tunnels from Altihex or even Polyhex, there are always a way around the most impregnable wall.
