The taxes were about 3.50 for all four deluxes, shipping was free. That still puts each deluxe around $15 each. Walmart prices for deluxes are currently about $15.50 before local sales tax. About $16.10ish after tax (depending on where you live). Granted if you only buy one or two? You'll be out a shipping cost as well, and it won't be as sweet a deal. But if you want to get other stuff anyway, why not clear that $50 hurdle and get free shipping?

But if you want to roll the dice and wait for them to turn up in stores, go for it. It all comes down to whether people are willing to shell out a few extra bucks to get their figures sooner. Most people are still waiting for Wolfwire and Mindwipe to turn up on shelves. Distribution and in-store availability for Wave2 and Wave3 has been spotty to say the least. If you search locally? You can wind up driving around for days from store to store, looking for them and not finding them.

The money saved in fuel/transportion costs and time spent searching? It can easily be worth the 2-3 extra dollars you might spend through HTS. But in this case, if you order enough to get free shipping, it easily zeroes out to the same price as retail, or less. More than worth it for the convenience and a guarantee that you will actually get the figures.

Cry me a **** river, those are some of the lowest tax rates in the first world. Sale tax where I am is 15%. And I pay it cause its not like any of us have a choice unless we want to uproot our entire lives to live somewhere where taxes are less. Bringing taxes, an unavoidable and regional factor into the discussion is useless. If you're worried about that constant tax figure, then why bother buying the toy. Might as well charge all the other constants in your life, like the gas or buss pass to get it at the store, or the time it took you to go to the store instead of buying it from the comfort of your home. People could have been doing something else with that time, something that could generate more income instead of visiting the store every week to see the same empty shelves. Its called opportunity cost. And thats a constant too, just like taxes. And plus your still paying those taxes when you buy it at retail, so what's the point of bringing it up?!

And saying they are greedy for wanting you to buy more is ridiculous. Nothing is free in life, shipping always costs money (you think the mailman works for free?). But if you buy enough (at the same good deal), then they cover the shipping and you see that at other places like TRU, Walmart ect. And its a way smaller treshold than TFSource's $150 for free shipping and BBTs has no free shipping. HTS is thus far more generous than either store.

Went to buy it, but decided to wait to see if walmart has the figures. There isn't enough in stock that I want to get free shipping, so hopefully a local store has got them in the past 3 weeks.

All the Wal-marts I've visited recently has had wave 3 deluxes and the legends wave with Gnaw. I'd say we should be seeing full saturation soon (at least at Wally World). Also the deluxes here are under $15. I saw the tax talk above, but I don't really count that because now I have to pay the same in store or online :-(

I'd say wait it out.

The only thing I'm watching for is shipping. Plus, I've come to prefer finding the toy in store. makes it feel more gratifying.

Tax isn't an issue. It's gonna happen either way. I look at the baseline price.

HTS doesn't have anything in stock I want, and even the affore mentioned wave 3 deluxes, only Hot Rod (I think) is left...

Purchased Sixshot at Target on 3/7- after tax was $44.37 USD

*IF* I could purchase on HTS, (used Soundwave as an example since its the same price and happens to be in stock) even with the 15% discount, after taxes and shipping it would be $48.18 (just under $49)...you cant tell me that isn't by design.. I guess I could just purchase another TM to get free shipping, lets see...

Oh crud! The sub-total has to be over $49, not the after-tax total to get free shipping. What a rip-off!

I guess its good for some who have never seen these at B&M, but HTS seems to run out of stock so fast, selection is limited, and *free shipping* is dubious at best.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

How is it dubious? its stated very clearly how much you need to get free shipping and its the same rules as Walmart and TRU, I dont get how this is a big deal. You never include taxes in terms of treshold.

PROMOTION: Site Wide Free Shipping on orders over $49

Free standard shipping on most orders over $49, on most products currently for sale on HasbroToyShop.com. Discount applies to pre-tax and pre-shipping amount. Offer excludes purchases of HasbroToyShop.com exclusives. Other exclusions may apply. No rain checks. Not valid on previous orders. Offer valid in continental U.S. only. Subject to terms and conditions of use and HasbroToyShop.com policies.

I guess it comes form my current secular work, which involves QC for a mortgage company, including all marketing materials. Sure if you "click the details" its all there...it is Legal, but is it easily understood? - Every company is different. Is this truly "Free" shipping for orders over $49? - I guess the fact that they included the word *most* in there is fair...though I guess I've just been trained to make corrections to anything open to subjective interpretation. Words like "most" "should" "probably" etc... are big red flags in my line of work

on a slightly humorous note I typed in "Fortress Maximus" just out of curiousity as I like to see the price range despite getting it a while back. I guess HTS finally ran out of stock as this is what came up:

Having w3 turning up in some parts of the country/world is, as most may know, no guarantee that they'll be showing up everywhere. Each mortal should gauge from previous store behavior and make their own determinations. If they're showing up in your stores, you're some of the lucky ones, and ordering off HTS may not be the best bet.

Most are NOT so lucky. Many places, particularly in the continental US, wind up on some kind of weird schedule where figures that are common on shelves in some parts of the country will not show up in their own states for weeks, or even months. Soundwave and other leader figures have been out and shelf warming in some places since late last year. But other states still have not seen them on shelves to this day.

Those who have been on the sharp end of the sickle for in-store distribution will want to take a serious look at the HTS deals, especially since the promo code is set to expire in a few days. It could be some time before these figures wind up in your stores. HFTD Windcharger, Thrilling 30s Windblade, Solar Storm Grapple... Some figures never show up on the shelf at all. But each place is different, so be sure to check your stores and their stocks. If they're still dawdling, HTS may be a viable option.....

I hear you Death and you know I appreciate the puns, but I fear it might be too late. Getaway is already sold out so no more set of 4 for $57 :(

Congrats to those who jumped on it though!

First off language, just because i hit a nerve doesnt warrant that kind of language. Plus the admins will be on it and youll have to change it anyway. But back on topic if your unhappy with your taxes write your heads of state, protest do something about it. Uprooting isnt the only option, even the laziest of people can help make change. If your not part of the solution your part of the problem. 2nd, online orders are not always cheaper than going to the store. When gas was $6 a gallon yeah but now that its under $3 its not. Its cheaper for most to go to walmart than order from HTS especially since they can get other things there too. I go to walmart i get catfood & other supplies, cant do that with HTS now can i. Unlike many (& im sure your included) i dont let collecting control my life, ive fit it in with my weekly routines thus not wasting tome nor money. 3rd, it is greed. How is it that a small company like neca can sell licensed high quality products for such low prices but hasbro sells low grade toys for a premium? Why is it that other companies offer free shipping or low shipping on orders but HTS doesnt? TRU had free shipping on orders of $19 or more for a long time, it just changed to $30 but still better than HTS. Walmart has free 2 day shipping on $35, better than HTS. Ive shipped figures before i know it doesnt cost $8 to ship a deluxe figure even in a box. I know things in life arent free, i also know they dont cost that much either.

Tax isn't an issue. It's gonna happen either way. I look at the baseline price.
Here is some hope for ya, D. Just spotted wave 3 deluxes and legends at TRU. Happy Hunting ;)^

Cool your jets, the site has autocensor, so any bad word is censored and nothing needs to be done, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

But back on topic if your unhappy with your taxes write your heads of state, protest do something about it. Uprooting isnt the only option, even the laziest of people can help make change. If your not part of the solution your part of the problem.

Where is this coming from? you were the one who complained about taxes adding to your bill:

Megatron Wolf wrote:And tax isnt negligible, some people have to pay almost 10% sales tax and that adds up especially on big orders.

In any case, i am not trying to pick a fight. I newsed this to help people get these hot toys at a decent price while they could. if you can get the toys you want for a better price, then i hope it works out for you ;)^

Where did you get them for $14 and change a piece for them? They're at least $14.99 or higher at Target and Walmart, who sells them for the cheapest usually. Most states charge sales tax on top of that. Here in Illinois around Chicago it's about 10%, so about $16.50.

Seems like a few of you need to cool it down a bit. Also no need for swearing or getting all defensive. Everyone has their own financial situation and trying to apply your own situation to people from around the world isn't really fair.

10% sales tax here in Chicago is a lot, especially when we are taxed in other ways, William. We don't have "free" health care, which is really a misnomer because there is no such thing as "free" shipping or "free" health care. It comes out of your pocket one way or another. The high import fees that you have to pay for and the higher sales tax you pay is offset by your free health insurance whereas I don't have import fees, I have 10% sales tax, I have crazy Chicago property taxes around $6,000 a year for a small house, and we most definitely don't have "free" health insurance.

Using the discount code "SPRING17" at HTS brings each deluxe down to $14.44.

We also have 10% sales tax and 10.5% in some cities (state, parish and city tax), wah wah.

MSRP on Leader Class is $46.99. You got an amazing deal on a hot brand new figure. Congrats!

o.supreme wrote:*IF* I could purchase on HTS, (used Soundwave as an example since its the same price and happens to be in stock) even with the 15% discount, after taxes and shipping it would be $48.18 (just under $49)...you cant tell me that isn't by design.. I guess I could just purchase another TM to get free shipping, lets see...

Oh crud! The sub-total has to be over $49, not the after-tax total to get free shipping. What a rip-off!

ALL stores that do things like that never include sales tax in the subtotal. They want you to spend $50 and then they'll toss in free shipping. That's not a rip-off. That's standard retail business. Even Walmart.com has the same type of deal ... you have to spend $35 or more (before sales tax) to be eligible for free shipping. It's a standard retail technique to get people to spend more money than they would have if they had just offered free shipping on everything. It's a technique I also use on Seibertron.com's eBay store from time-to-time.

MSRP is $16.99 on the deluxes. Don't let Walmart and Target fool you into thinking you really got a good deal. You might have saved on that item, but you gave them plenty of money from other general merchandise items or grocery items you've bought from those stores at other times. Every buy soda from Walmart? Walmart sells soda at some of the highest retail prices compared to your local grocery store or Target. So you might have gained a buck on the Transformer toy you bought from them, but lost a buck on a 12 pack of soda. It's just the games of retail stores.

Don't hold it over Hasbro's head that they sold a product at MSRP and offered free shipping if you spent $49 or more and have a sale going on right now to boot. Seems like a pretty good deal.
