It's better than it's bashed on, but (I never thought I'd ever say this) there is TOO MUCH blood and gore. It completely defies anything we learned about the Predator in the first one. If only kills those with weapons. As I recall, it killed someone in the sewers for no reason whatsoever. The Predator's visions were also wrong, and the acting was sub-par.It's not bad, but it's the worst of the Predator movies.

Like when the Predator rips peoples skin off, in the first movie.

It checks to make sure its targets are armed first. Like that kid in the park, it backed off when he realized it was a toy gun the kid was holding. Also it wouldn't kill whats-her-face when he realized she was pregnant. (Predators are apparently pro-life)

Now Predators? That one actually breaks the rules. Topher Grace and whats-his-face prison guy had little more then small knives (A scalpel and a prison shank), and Topher Grace is killed despite having been disarmed. Not to mention it breaks the Pred rule of letting their prey have the home field advantage.

How was it wrong? The first movie only showed the heat vision mode, and that returns in the second one unaltered. Everything else was just different settings.

When the Predator removes his mask in the second one, he still has heat vision. In the original, everything turned red.

In Preators, they knew that Topher Grace was a serial killer because they were the ones that put him on that planet in the first place.

Of course they did. And even though he didn't have a real weapon, they killed him anyway. Worse, he showed time and again he was useless in a fight.

Part of his act to try and convince the other humans that he was completely normal.

And the Predators know he's not. They know he's only effective when you completely drop your guard and they aren't that stupid. He never even tried to fight the Preds! Even prison guy jumped up and tried shanking the hell out of one. He has no practical combat skills and no real weapons, at some point you have to ask, where's the sport in hunting him?
