Finished one Jazz finally
I don't know if anyone remembers, but I was doing up a custom Jazz awhile back. Well I laid him down for awhile, but started another last week (the lighter one). I finished him up. Now I'll have to go back and finish the first one.
So which do you guys like? The new lighter color or the unfinished darker one?

Very nice - these look so much better when painted, I'm very tempted to attempt it on mine. I don't really care if I stuff it up because Jazz is my least favourite deluxe of the ones I've bought.

They are. It's just not showing up too well.

I've always used Model Master paints on my plastic projects. Never had a problem with them. But my colors for the car parts are custom mixes of several MM colors and an acrylic wax for shine.

Thanks
I outlined the part around it. Some of the renderings I have show a body colored metal surround going around those tires, so I assume that's what the toy tried to replicate. I have mixed feelings on them and haven't decided their fate.

The darker one I hand brushed completely. The newer one I airbrushed the vehicle mode and then hand painted the details in and the robot mode. For the brushes, I used a bunch really. I got a mixed pack of 10 at Hobby Lobby, all sizes and shapes, and I used some of Testors "upscale" (aka not the cheap white handled ones) brushes too. Don't be too cheap on the brushes. A few nice ones pay off IMO. They don't have to be the hugely expensive ones, but stay away from the dirt cheap ones.
