Ranking the Bayverse main villains.

I got Sentinel Prime's toy in a trade this week, and it got me thinking extensively about the character. It made me wonder, for what he did, is he worse than any of the Decepticons from the 3 films? If we take all the main bad guys, and I'm counting Megatron 3 different times, because not only did he have 3 different appearances, he also had 3 different attitudes. Starscream was basically the same sniveling little punk every time, and Soundwave went through a major transformation (pun intended :P ) between RoTF and DotM. Shockwave? I'm not sure if we should even count him as a major villain, because his Bayverse version never lived up to G1, Super-Link, or even Animated.

To recap (and I may miss a few things):

2007 Megatron

- wasn't around much, but when he did wake up he was pretty much unstoppable. He berated Starscream, he destroyed anything in his way, and Optimus and the Air Force had nothing for him in a fight.

RoTF Megatron

- when he was revived, the first thing he did was smash a submarine on his way out of the ocean. He stabbed and shot Prime in the back, albeit after getting his ass kicked for a bit. He bitch slapped Starscream. He killed Sam, even if it became a moot point.

DotM Megatron

- wasn't very threatening physically, but just as demented mentally as before. Shot his alleged sworn partner in the back and tore him apart.

Starscream

- led the Decepticons at the beginning. Freed Megatron. Allegedly back-stabbed Megatron by shooting him along with the USAF Raptors. Then took out those Raptors in mid-air. Crippled Bumblebee by shooting off his legs. In RoTF he didn't really do much. In DotM, he shot down the Ark (in the book version, anyway. I don't think it was made clear in the movie) and the Xantium as well.

Soundwave

- was crucial in reviving Megatron in RoTF, as well as controlling communications. In DotM, he became a very real threat, terrorizing Carly as well as killing Que. He also controlled Ravage and Laserbeak who did a massive amount of damage.

Sentinel Prime

- not technically a Decepticon, but just as cruel. Betrayed the Autobots and humans, killed Ironhide, ordered Chicago destroyed, nearly crippled and killed Optimus, and even bitch slapped Megatron.

There are a few more honorable mentions, such as The Fallen, Shockwave, Barricade, Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, even Dylan from DotM. The ones detailed above were the main guys, who were in control. So how would you rank them, from most effective/evil and down?

To me, the only point Shockwave had was to throw people off the trail of Sentinel Prime's role as the movie was being made. It was never intended for him to play any major role other than to let people think he was going to be the main villain. And i think for the most part this worked and had the novel adaption not had been released before the movie opening, it would have worked entirely.

As for Sentinel, yes, i do believe he is the worse of them all. Not only did he betray his own, he killed in in cold energon.
When your up against a villain like Megatron, Starscream, Fallen, etc, in a way you know what to expect. You know what there intentions are, they will do damn near anything for there cause and your not surprised by there actions. There's no trust, you simply have your guard up the entire time. With sentinel there was trust that was betrayed. Think of it this way..
If your best friend worked with someone you greatly disliked/hate for whatever reason in an act to work against you, who would you be more upset with? The person who you would expect this kind of treachery, or the last person in the world you would expect to betray you? This is how i see Sentinel's actions.

I think The Fallen posed more of a threat that anyone, but never actually got to a point to really do anything. I mean, he crashed on earth, destroyed a couple of cities and an aircraft carrier and almost blew up the sun. But Sentinel Prime came closer to achieving his main goal than The Fallen. If The Fallen had somehow gotten closer to the Autobots, I think he would have done much more. The only time he even interacted with them was for a split second at the final battle and all that was on his mind was getting Optimus back down and getting The Matrix.

Megatron from TF1 was the ultimate villian, he controlled Cybertron even before him and Sentinel planed to rebuilt they planet. He showed the autobots how big a threat he really was, killed Jazz cruelly, equally challenge Optimus in battle and nearly killed him without a backstab. He was the feared leader i wanted to see more about. If he still was like this, he would't have let Sentinel take the command of the decepticons easily.

Actually, Watch. Barricade killed Que.

I Personally rank Sentinel Highest, with movie one megs close behind. What you must consider is, Megatron got weaker over the years, while Optimus, (Through the matrix and upgrades) Grew stronger. That's why in the end, Optimus destroyed megs without so much as trying. Soundwave's cruelty made him the runnerup. Through sheer power and ability, I think the fallen owns though. Only a prime could defeat him. So no optimus would mean...
SENTINEL VERSUS THE FALLEN!!!!
That'd never happen though...

Can you imagine how powerful Sentinel would be if he combined with Jetfire like Optimus did in RoTF? I wonder if anyone has attempted a kitbash of the toys...
