Red version of Gobot Harley Robo ?

I started a previous thread attempting to identify a couple of items I found in an old box of G1 Transformers ... this will be one more thing I've found in that box which I'm having a hard time identifying definitively:

It appears to be a Gobot, is a red Harley obviously, and mimics the style of Harley Robo (who is white) and Night Ranger (who is identical to Harley Robo for the most part, except he is blue). This red one ... either it is rare, or I'm misidentifying it as a Gobot when it's a knockoff or something else.

Anyone else familiar with this one ? If so, any helps is appreciated, thanks.

It may indeed be a KO of Night Ranger or MR-37 Harley Robo. He did come in two colors: blue and white, but not red. The white one is a proper variant for Europe (in fact, Europe only got white), and Japan where it was used for the Revenge of Cronos reissue.

That sucks if it's a ko then :( It would be the only non-legit thing in my box of toys I found :/

Who are the most common ko-makers of Gobots ? Anyone of particular noteworthiness ?

Thanks for your input btw.

I looked a bit deeper into and a variety of companies make Gobot KO's, thanks to their simplicity. In fact, they were the most faked out of all transforming robot lines. Don't think it's a bad thing to have an old KO. To some, having a KO is more interesting than the genuine article.

Here's an interesting link for you:

Huh ... that's cool. Interestingly, it only looks like there are two variations of Night Ranger (at least according to that pages data) ... the red one, and a friction-motorized one.

I know there is still a market for some KO's and such, I was just disappointed my box of goodies had a "fake" lol.

Thanks for the extra input ^_^
