Well, the Wiki is no help here either. As they overlap the 'Super Robot' and 'combiner' terms for UT. :BANG_HEAD:

If that rumor about movie Breakaway is real, then I am super stoked. The idea of movie bots from the comics and games getting figures is really exciting.

As for others, I'd like to see a couple animated style figures, and more RiD2015 Decepticons. They deserve more. Chop Shop comes to mind among others

So today's new Amazon leaks seem to disprove what I wrote here, it looks like the "Prime Optimus Prime" that was leaked a while ago is just a collab with Amazon, a repaint of Earthrise Optimus in the colours of an Amazon truck. That's a shame, but I do hope a Prime Optimus will still happen in Legacy. The only Optimus Primes I have in my shaved-down post-moving-out collection is the Earthrise version and its Shattered Glass repaint, so I wouldn't mind another version. Either Prime, Armada, or another movie Optimus (because I never liked the Studio Series wave 1 and 5 Voyager mould, and I have no interest in the Bumblebee movie Voyager).

(Not 100% sure this is the right thread, but I know it's kind of a speculation thread) Well, Hasbro just teased the next HasLab project, and I guess they want to test the waters for JG1 by having one of the characters be the next HasLab project. Kinda makes sense. Open with a big one, see the numbers on people willing to bite before putting it into the mainline. Kinda happened with Beast Wars by putting Primal in the fan poll for POTP, then doing Beast Wars in Kingdom.

I'm personally hoping it's Star Saber, and he won't be ridiculously expensive, but given Unicron's cost and the Sentinel for Marvel Legends, I'm not too hopeful

Given it is HasLab, it will be something big and Expensive.

My picks for candidates:

Dinoking

Greatshot

Liokaiser

Victory Saber (as a two-pack)

Leaks / Rumours state it's Star Saber at 200-250 with a Victory Leo stretch goal. He's apparently the same size as Siege Jetfire but has the extra engineering to accommodate the Victory Saber mode and Brainmaster gimmick.

Hopefully his Victory Saber mode is more impressive than him putting on platform boots.

In a way, I hope it isn't Star Saber. As the MP exists. MP level versions of Greatshot or the Gestalts Liokaiser and Dinoking would be more worthwhile as a HasLab project.

Platform boots is authentic to the cartoon though, but maybe they'll look at what Flame Toys did

For me while CW LioKaiser isn't ideal, it exists, (I own it) same with Legends Greatshot (which I also own). MP Star Saber was not readily available to the general fans worldwide

CW LioKaiser, TR Metalhawk, Overlord, and SkyShadow, Selects Black Zarak and Black Roritchi are all very sad right now.

At any rate, this is awesome. Also for a certainly, a Haslab project doesn't have to be some monstrous $500+ item. A Victory Saber set, or 18" "Titan Class" Dinoking (same size as CW/UW Devastator and PotP Predaking), would be perfect for the $200-$300 range, and I'd wholeheartedly support either one.

*Just curious, looking at the Haslab Page on Pulse, once the project is funded, they no longer show the price, also probably to not draw attention to failures, they don't references unfunded projects. Was Cookie Monster the only Haslab so far not go into production?

Putting CW Liokaiser in the same list as Overload and Skyshadow is not right. CW Liokaiser was not a good representation of Liokaiser or Deathsaurus.

Overlord probably did not sell well due to being the final Leader of TR (barely stocked anywhere) and probably gave Hasbro a bad idea of how JG1 characters would sell. It's important to note that there was a 3 year gap between the TR JG1 figures and the Black Zarak duo, Hasbro's testing the waters again for JG1 after the last attempt "failed" (to them).

There are a LOT of assumptions there. I agreed in my previous post that CW LioKaiser was not ideal, but it would still be a much better strategy to release a modern take on something that hasn't been done yet, than something that has, even if it wasn't perfect. Also while Overlord was not readily available at retail, he was easily available at reduced prices at many online stores. That doesn't necessarily equate to failure, just bad distribution, which has always plagued Transformers for as long as I've been back into collecting.

TR Deluxe wave 5 goes for insane amounts on the secondary market, but to all the fans and scalpers who found them at Ollie's at bargain bin prices, was it a failure? Was it a failure to Hasbro that TRU closed in the U.S. causing major issues with where their product was supposed to go in the interim? We will never know.

Not a lot of people liked the LioKaiser cause it was a half hearted retool, Metalhawk was in a box set with other figures that could muddy perception, but I will concede that I had forgotten about Overlord, Sky Shadow, and Black Zarak as ways of purely checking interest in JG1. But I was also mostly just meaning that it'd be a way for Hasbro to know for sure that there is a demand for them among the fans before trying to push them in the mainline.

As a side note, does anyone know if you can change the card on file for HasLab projects after they've been funded and still have your order? Or is it a situation of "Don't even think about touching it or you'll never see this figure again"?

Same. I'd rather it just be for Leo and they reissue the MP for those that didnt pick it up during its loooong stay on the shelves/webstores or the KO. Anything but Star Saber for me.

*I wouldnt really want it to be big powered either after getting the takara set but at least they could do more to improve on that than the MP star sabre.

Don't know about HasLab but Hasbro Pulse purchases can have their card changed. I used to get emails, back in 2019/2020 before the pandemic, from Pulse confirming a card was still good before items shipped.

Was it a failure to Hasbro that TRU closed in the U.S. causing major issues with where their product was supposed to go in the interim? We will never know.

Hasbro doesn't make money from secondary market, hence why they'll sometimes rerelease highly-sought figures (so they can get a piece of that pie). It's no coincidence that we got Counterpunch in the first GO pack available on Pulse and we're supposedly getting the TR Targetmasters in the Retro line... with a new G1 Ratchet supposedly coming in Legacy.

Figures never being stocked and moved to clearance retailers does not spell "success" to Hasbro. Platinum Edition died for a reason. It doesn't matter what circumstances affected the sales, it's the sales of the figures that are examined.
My (semi)obscure wantlist:
CHUG PCC Smolder - CHUG Clench - SS 07 Payload
