Hey, this is kinda old news but I saw nothing here about it. Bandai will be adding Sailor Moon to their S.H.Figuarts line to coincide with the new series that comes out next year. The reason I'm posting this is because so far they are only producing Sailor Moon but if it proves popular, then the other team members are likely to come along like what they do with Super Sentai teams. As a male fan, this is great news since I want to have Sailor Moon figures but don't want to buy dolls. BTW, I think Luna looks incredibly cute.

She looks great. I hope we get at least a Mercury. I have so wanted good Sailor Moon figures for the longest time. I hope she comes with some cool accessories.

Personally, I want Mars. I always like her in the show and manga. Give her a "Begone evil spirits" tag, pen, broom and shrine. Venus with an optional Sailor V mask, Artemis and pen would rock too. Mercury with her visor, computer, pen and school books sound right as well.

Alas, I have never watched Sailor Moon, although I do intend to (not the dub though, goddmanit that abomination was bad...)

These figures look cool, looks suspiciously similar to a Figma though. Still, this is Bandai, so I expect the quality will be great.

Yeah, stay away from the dub version. It is a shadow of the original and was incredibly dumbed down for the young female audience in the US. It was also highly censored too. Such things like Uranus and Neptune's relationship. While in the Japanese version they are romantically linked, in the dub version they are cousins. The season one finale is in two parts for Japan, in the US it was compressed into only one episode that was so fast it made little sense.

I like that S.H.Figuarts look similar to Figma, it means I can put her on the same shelf without her looking out of place. She can also take part in some action scenes too.

So, any news on when this is getting released? Or any preorders going up?

Last I heard it was still at TBD stage, unfortunately.

We don't know the release date, sadly. But I hope it's relatively soon!

It will probably be in the summer. That is when the new Sailor Moon show is going to air. No date on that either unfortunately. I hope they change the tone back to the original Manga, keep Sailor Pluto, and not be afraid to have a lesbian couple in the line up.

Yea, I don't get that "Pending Licensor Approval" thing. The figure was first shown during a Sailor Moon anniversary event so obviously was approved then. I doubt Naoko Takeuchi would have allowed it at the event if she wasn't happy with it. Bandai wouldn't be at this stage if they couldn't get the license.

Also, I'm sure Japan will keep Uranus and Neptune as they were, as long as Naoko Takeuchi still wants it that way. As for America, keeping them like that would be good for girls who are questioning their orientation. However, that might not happen.

Let's hope that 'pending licensor approval' placard is just a formality because they don't have a set date, yet. *Crosses fingers* Come on... Sailor Moon deserves a proper action figure release! All the Senshi do.

Are S.H Figuarts figures roughly at the same scale to Figmas (by "roughly" I mean "won't look ludicrously small or comically huge next to")?

I hope they do all the Sailors and a few monsters from the series. Nothing worse than having awesome figures of the main characters and no monsters or enemies to put them against (Figma Puella Magi Madoka Magica girls, every Evangelion figure line ever, I'm looking at YOU).

They are roughly the same size, yeah. I have some tall and some short Figma's so she will fit in nicely.

Hopefully with Toys R Us stocking SH Figuarts on their website and in store this may pop up here in the states.

But yes. Definitely need to preorder. And we have plenty of time to do so.

They are? Hmm, wasn't aware. Admittedly I think I've visited the site I think twice over the past six months or so.

If I spot any preorders, I'll throw the link up. Hopefully others will do the same.
