Eh... last year's exclusives were better. My opinion, of course. Only thing I remotely like is the Dinobots set. The rest of it is "meh" to me.

Nothing here tweaks my fancy, but I can see the appeal of the G1 Dinobots.

Dinobots :x

And I wouldn't say "the best", but the Knights of Unicron set does get my vote for "most unorthodox". >:oP

If the Knights of Unicron set were a BotCon exclusive, I would agree with you. But for San Diego Comic-Con, I actually feel that it's the exact opposite, being a very fitting exclusive for that event. I mean, think about it. We got a set of four well known iconic characters who people recognize from as far back as G1 to the movies and media of today, all decked out lovingly in the flare and pizzazz of the 1980s as an affectionate tribute to that era, all in good taste and good fun. It's meant to attract and grab the attention of non-TF fans who like that musical flare and get them interested in the Transformers. And Comic-Con, one of the biggest nerd capitals of the world that doesn't give its primary focus to Transformers (rather focusing on just about everything nerd-centric ever), is a vast ocean full of these kinds of people for this set to appeal to. :-B

To round off today's "first in-hand images of" series from eBay seller lena81822, we have our first in-hand images of one of this year's San Diego Comic Con exclusives: three members of the fictional metal band "Knights of Unicron", Optimus Prime, Jazz, and Soundwave! Optimus Prime and Jazz are redecoes of the Generations: Fall of Cybertron toys of the same names, and Soundwave is a redeco of the Generations: War for Cybertron toy of the same name, all figures coming with additional cloth and wig accessories. There are no images of fellow band-member Megatron at this time. Check out the images below!

is that mold of jazz a decent mold? I like the way it looks but I was turned off by the hollow areas. is that a problem really? Is he pretty sturdy?
I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.

He is decent, but not great. His greatest problems are mainly aesthetic, such as the wide hollow chest and narrow waist.

The concept is hilarious, but the execution of the Optimus is a textbook example of why action figures can't have too many cloth accessories once they're below a certain height: between the hair and scarf, you can barely tell what he's even supposed to be.

He's also a klepto. You can see he stole Jazz's gun, and Primus only knows where he's stashed Laserbeak and Ratbat.

Although I guess technically Laserbeak and Ratbat might belong to him anyways. But the point is, they're not in the pictures either.

I do hope it doesn't wind up being terribly annoying to take off the wigs and cloth stuff in order to transform these guys. Or at the very least that the stuff isn't glued on or whatever, because that'd probably make it impossible to transform these things.

I do wonder why they went with FoC Jazz for this set instead of RtS Jazz. After all, RtS Jazz has a sound system.

If I had to take a cynical guess, I'd say it's because we had a few hundred FOC Primes and Jazzs left over.

The plastic colors on Prime are slightly dirrerent, and Jazz seems to barely share any plastic colors at all with the previous use of the mold, so that doesn't actually work. They'd have had to make these new regardless of the mold they chose.

I'm gonna put on my tinfoil hat and say that between this and Generations Nightbeat, I'm starting to suspect something happened to the RtS Jazz mold and it's unusable now.

Soundwave is going for a little less than three dollars. Jazz is going for a little more than a buck. The highest I've seen Optimus Prime go for is just a little over ten whopping dollars. If those prices are premium, I'm one of the richest little buggers in North Carolina!

These are Chinese listings. Just how much do you think anyone in the US will be selling them for?

I think you might have been drinking when you read the comment. Other than that I cannot fathom where you get the ideology that these are going for a few bucks. That is just ignorant. Next time you try to make assumptions, back it up with FACTS. If not, it will make you look ignorant every time.

Here's a little secret: posts like that are usually sarcastic in nature, especially with accompanying smilies :-$

And yes, some guys will pay a premium for this just to get it first. In this case, "weird" is under the same entry as "unique" and thus "valuable in the long run" in their dictionary. ;)

Dial the attitude down.

Maybe you should tell him to "dial down" his attitude by rolling his eyes while making ignorant comments he cannot back up with facts. What is that supposed to mean anyhow? Dial down what attitude? I pointed out the FACT his comment is a lie. How is that against forum rules? Please explain. If anything, this site needs truth from time to time considering the fact that false rumors spread like cancer on this site. Remember the Legends class debacle last winter?
