Bottom of Yellow Sea – Outside Alpha Dome

Having missed a direct hit on Thunderwing with his rockets, a disappointed Grimlock advanced towards the alpha dome once more as the carapace-laced warlord retreated deep into the base. It was surprising that Thunderwing would display such cowardice even in the face of the Dinobots. Then again, he had remained hidden like a cyber-rat on Cybertron for countless vorns as the war raged elsewhere. Still, it seemed very odd. While Devastator had been defeated, Thunderwing was more than powerful enough to continue to put up a decent fight and yet he ran away. Why?

A series of bounce beams shot up from the dome as the Decepticons evacuated the undersea base, taking with them whatever important items and equipment that needed to be saved and kept from falling into the hands of the Autobots. Only Scrapper, Mixmaster and Scavenger remained at the outer edge of the dome, firing off shots at the approaching Dinobots. Another oddity, the shots were not very accurate, even for a ‘Con. It was almost like they weren’t even trying to hit the Dinobots anymore.

>>Grimmy, do we go in, or we just destroy the dome from a distance? Me think...Me think they got no hope. Then again, we can't just run in without knowing whether there is or isn't traps around. Me got shot once from there but it din't hurt. They distracted me from killing the Constructicon so they escaped into the dome. Sorry sir.<<

>>“Nothing to be sorry for, Swoop. The battle is ours.”<< Grimlock responded as he slowed his advance, considering the rest of what his aerial subordinate had just said. Could there be a trap waiting for them inside the dome? It was possible. It’s not like the Decepticons hadn’t tried that trick in the past to varying degrees of success or failure.

>>”Dinobots, halt your advance. Remain outside dome. Could be traps inside. Maintain fire on Constructicons until me hear from other Autobots.”<<

Grimlock stopped in his tracks as he fired several more rockets directly at Scrapper. The Dinobot Commander then opened a secured comm line to those puny ‘Bots within the dome:

>>”Blaster, Scoop, Getaway, report! What your situation?”<<
_______________

Snarl skidded to a stop in the muck when he received Grimlock’s new orders. “Traps? You don’t say. You mean kinda like what Shockwave did to us all those years ago. Or what you did,” the Desert Warrior muttered under his breath as he took aim directly at Scavenger with his long-range rifle and opened fire once again.

Slag, on the other hand, had no intention of remaining where he was. After Weirdwolf had fled back inside the alpha dome, the anger proned Dinobot rushed forward towards the outer edge where three of the Constructicons had remained while the others retreated to the bounce pad.

>>”If you think me going to sit out here like coward you gravely mistaken, Grimlock! Me take fight to 'Cons!!”<<

Slag then fired off several more shots from his electron gun before transforming back into Triceratops mode and charging directly at Mixmaster, the Dinobot’s three horns ready to impale the chemical engineer straight through his very spark with any luck.

The Dinobots were closing in. But as they were, fiery water-trails began to slice through the depths of the yellow sea, en route to the Constructicons' positions.

"Oh frag," Scrapper muttered before his entire world seemed to erupt in flame.

All three of the Constructicons fell backward as the alpha dome was rocked by the incoming attack.

Through the flames, Scrapper could make out one Dinobot in particular, Slag, barreling straight toward them. Toward Mixmaster in particular. They were coming, just as they'd planned. But if this little trap didn't work out, they were gonna get trampled in the process.

"Go go go go go go go!" Scrapper howled as he scrambled back to his feet and tore off in a dead sprint in the direction of the bounce chamber.

"I'm on it boss!" Long Haul replied to his commander's wishes of getting Bonecrusher and Hook out of the fight. The transporter wished he himself was in better condition so that he too could help hold off the encroaching Dinobot force, but alas he was having a hard enough time maintaining his hauler alternate mode. "Hold on back there Hook!" Long Hauls tires screeched towards the bounce pad as rockets and explosions littered the sea floor around his path.

Once he was able to reach his destination, the trio of Constructicons disappeared into a flash of little back towards the Thanatos.

---

That was his chance, there wasn't any other Decepticons standing between him and the Autobots... Each of the Dinobots stood before him, in a line out in the sea. There was no way Misfire could screw this up now... The magenta-flier brought his weapon up and took aim at the leader of the bunch. His actuator gently pulled at the trigger as he steadied his hand and cleared his mind...

...only to watch as the violet-bursts of energy whiz inbetween the staggered line of Dinobots out in the muck.

"H-How?! He was directly in my sights!" Misfire exclaimed, unbeknownst to him that the last calibration to his weapon overkilled his already poor aim.

---

Sludge slowly approached Grimlock's side, carrying his severed Dino-head through the muck as he fired his rifle off towards the retreating Decepticons. "Bah! Was not done with that one!"

“AYIEEEEEEE!” was the high pitched yelp that issued from Scavenger’s vocalizer as he followed his boss’s example and ran like the wind. Really, he was a go kind of bot. Just say go, and Scavenger wouldn’t even ask how far. Nope, he’d just vamoose. Hoof it. Gone.

Now, if Scrapper had asked him to stand and fight, Scavenger woulda done that with equal amounts of enthusiasm as this whole running away thing. Yup! But, you know, he was kinda glad boss had made the call he had. Especially as one of the angrier Autobots came barreling at them. Scavenger was getting the hell out of dodge! He zipped right past the little femme and carried on his merry way. They were almost to the bounce chamber.

Flamewar had stopped dead, allowing the Constructicons to flee past deeper into the base. Grimlock had stopped his charge. Bah. Of all the times for Dinobots to be cautious. Only one of the Dinobots was actually pursuing them into the base. She looked to the remainder of her forces. They could risk it.

>>”Skullcruncher, Weirdwolf,”<< she transmitted over the chaos of gunfire and frantic shouts. >>”Do you think you can goad that Dinobot into pursuing us further into the base without tipping our hand?”<<

Pausing lightly in his retreat, Weirdwolf glanced back to his old opponent. >>”Worth the attempt it is. Done with him I was not in any case.”<< Unloading a volley of missiles as a gift for Slag, Weirdwolf grinned.

“Miss me, did you? Just wait you could not? Blame you I cannot. Afterall, parting is such sweet sorrow,” Weirdwolf called out to Slag, an arm dramatically outstretched.

Skullcruncher merely gave Weirdwolf a puzzled look, ”You think we can?”

Pausing lightly in his retreat, Weirdwolf glanced back to his old opponent, sharing his transmission with both Flamewar and Skullcruncher. >>”Worth the attempt it is. Done with him I was not in any case.”<<

”Eh. If you think so,” the burly crocodilian Decepticon grunted, sought out some protection from one of the many unfinished constructions left behind by the Constructicons and fired couple of shots towards Sludge’s and Grimlock’s position with his metal softening gun. He wasn’t counting on Grimlock to be baited into following them into the dome but perhaps Sludge whom he had humiliated earlier would get all riled up for it.

Battletrap noticed he was left behind when the remaining Constructicons along with Skullcruncher and Wierdwolf went closer to the opening. Remembering the orders from Flamewar, he didn't want the Constructicons to be flanked on the other side. He then joined up with the rest of the group and was a bit disappointed in seeing only a couple of the Dinobots coming into the building.

"Dinobots are nothing. They have no metal, processor, or courage!! They lucky to defeat Devestator. Dinobots are better as recycled Cybertronium than Cybertronians."

Battletrap hoped his taunting would draw them in as he fired a couple of missiles right behind Grimlock. If he and his teammates work together, they will be able to injure the Dinobots before they get blown up by the trap which is set up.

Even as he said that, Blaster disconnected from the terminal that he was working from to cast a tentative look out of the chamber it was housed in. No sign of the Cons. Steeljaw and Ramhorn stood guard right outside while Scoop and Getaway presumably weren’t much further off.

>>”Slag! Get your fraggin’ aft back here now!!!”<< Grimlock bellowed through the Dinobots’ shared frequency as the flamethrower barreled into the dome, causing the remaining Constructicons to scatter like cyber-gnats and flee deeper into the base. Cowards, all of them. Still, with the potential of traps left behind, it was better to err on the side of caution. Grimlock may be looked at as just a big brute with a speech impediment, but the Dinobot leader was actually a very intelligent battlefield commander who rivaled some of the best the Autobots had to offer. Slag, on the other hand, let his rage dictate his actions most of the time unless reeled in by the rex-former.

“Bah! Was not done with that one!” Sludge said as he walked up beside Grimlock. Before the Dinobot Commander could respond to his subordinate’s comment, more fire came from within the dome, this time from Skullcruncher and Battletrap.

“Look out, Sludge!” Grimlock shouted as he pushed the jungle warrior out of the line of fire and explosions erupted behind them. A shot from Skullcruncher’s metal softening gun struck the rex-former on his left wing, causing a small portion of his armored plating to weaken and crumble. It wasn’t severe and it wouldn’t prevent him from transforming, but it did provide a weak spot in an otherwise incredibly tough outer exterior.

Grimlock got back to his feet as he finally received a response from Blaster inside the dome:

>>”A little worse for wear, but we’re alright. We’re still inside the base. The outer layer should be passable now if you’re itching to storm the place. Cons withdrew a little while ago. Guess we have you to thank for that. I’m finishing gatherin’ up what little the Cons didn’t delete on their database as we speak. What do you want us to do?”<<

>>”Finish up, Blaster, and get your team's afts out here ASAP! Be careful of traps! ‘Cons aren’t going to leave base, even empty one, without something to remember them by. Move now before Dinobots bring base down on your heads!”<<

Cutting his transmission, Grimlock turned to look at Sludge, Swoop, Snarl and Hardhead. “You all stay out here. Provide cover fire if needed.” The Dinobot Commander then turned and stalked towards the Alpha Dome.

“And where you going, Grimlock?” Snarl yelled after him.

“To get Slag.”

Inside Alpha Dome

Slag chuckled internally as the Constructicons scattered at the mere sight of him charging towards them in his Triceratops mode. “That’s right, cowards, run away! Hahahahah!!!” Having passed effortlessly through the outer barrier of the dome, the flamethrower now found himself inside a drier environment. There was still some small pools of water here and there from the various cracks in the dome’s walls, likely caused by the exchange of weapons fire. Slag didn’t care. He just wanted to impale a Decepticon with his horns. Unfortunately, his initial targets had all fled the base. Thankfully, another target quickly presented himself.

“Miss me, did you? Just wait you could not? Blame you I cannot. After all, parting is such sweet sorrow,” Weirdwolf said as he launched new volley of missiles directly at the enraged Dinobot.

“Me miss smashing you, little doggy!” Slag roared as he turned his charge towards the lupine ‘Con, unleashing a torrent of flames from his mouth at the yellow wolf-former. Explosions then erupted all around him, knocking the mechanical triceratops off course and causing him to tumble sideways onto his back. A bit battered, but no worse for wear, Slag transformed back into his robot mode and picked himself up, energo sword in hand. “Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!!! You think that stop me, Wolfy? You wrong!!!!”

As Slag began to charge again, he felt a firm hand grasp his shoulder plate and halt his advance dead in his tracks. Thinking it was another ‘Con, Slag delivered a quick elbow to the mech’s faceplate and then spun around to impale the unlucky fragger with his blade. Slag stopped himself when he saw who it was.

Grimlock.

“What part of stay outside dome did you not understand, Slag?!” The Dinobot Commander growled, having been unaffected by the elbow to his faceplate. “Now, get back out there!! Me not going to tell you again!” Grimlock then shoved his disobedient subordinate back towards the edge of the dome as more weapons fire came their way.

Turning back to face those Decepticons that remained, Grimlock raised his doubled-barreled rifle in his left hand and opened fire on Weirdwolf while at the same time lifting his rocket launcher in his right hand and unleashing a volley of missiles directly at Skullcruncher and Battletrap. “Go, Slag! Now!!”

“Fine,” Slag conceded angrily as he backed towards the outer barrier and unloaded more shots from his electron gun at any ‘Con that moved.

Scrapper and the other Constructicons practically crashed through the ramshackle entrance into the makeshift room that served as the "bounce chamber" for their undersea base. He could clearly hear the Dinobots somewhere in the distance behind him and he was eager to keep it that way.

"Get on the bounce pad, go!" Scrapper barked, much more harshly than he would normally speak to his team. He couldn't deny that he was cracking under the pressure just a little bit; between Flamewar's plan and Grimlock's rage they were facing an all too real possibility of sudden-death.

"Goin' goin' goin'!" Mixmaster giggled inanely as he scrambled onto the pad along with Scavenger. "What a rush, huh?"

Setting the coordinates for the Thanatos and activating a remote control function, Scrapper ran over to join Mixmaster and Scavenger on the pad and then activated the tech.

He was sad to see this base go. He'd had grand hopes for what it could eventually become. But if the Dinobots went with it, it would be a worthy sacrifice.

This was bad. Grimlock himself had come to fetch his soldiers. The rest of the Dinobots seemed to have no intention on entering. Blast. They’d caught on. Well, she supposed that they had been lucky enough to get one of the more stupid ones to come as far as he did. Flamewar was about to call it when she got a transmission from none other than Thunderwing.

>>"As pressing as the Dinobot situation is, we seem to have a far greater one aboard the Thanatos. If you're going to do something of note, you'd better take your shot."<<

What? A greater one? Thunderwing didn’t appear to have anything to gain from lying to her…So she was inclined to believe him. As it was, the Dinobots weren’t planning on coming in. It was time to leave.

>>”All forces, bounce out immediately. We are leaving now.”<<

With that order sent out, Flamewar disappeared into the bounce chamber.

- :CON: -

When Weirdwolf saw Grimlock marching into the dome behind Slag, he weighed their odds of success in taking him down. Two on one? Would be preferable. But two on two…well. He didn’t like those odds. Even as he was thinking it, the little commander of the operation ordered the final retreat. Transforming into his lupine alternate mode, he whirled about and darted into the base along with his comrade Skullcruncher.

Bounce Chamber

When Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher arrived in the bounce chamber moments later, Flamewar was already on the bounce pad along with the rest of the Decepticons that had gone on ahead. The instant they stepped on the pad, Flamewar turned to the console and initiated the bounce. In the next moment, they were all gone.

When the bounce pad registered Flamewar’s departure, it sent a signal to the core of the base to self-destruct. The core shone bright red and then erupted in a spout of flame and force, causig rippling chain reactions through the whole of the undersea base.

((OOC: The Decepticon players that have not bounced yet can assume they have and appear on the Thanatos.))

Weapon: Railgun
Inside Alpha Dome

Fire and explosions started occurring in the base's interior. Blaster received Grimlock's transmission and sent one of his own to Scoop and Getaway who presumably weren't too far away. >>"Scoop, Getaway, hurry and get out! The Dinobots are about to open fire on top of this. Be careful and watch out for traps!"<< Blaster looked around and saw Steeljaw and Ramhorn, and recalled them back. The two Cassetobots came running back to Blaster, narrowly avoiding a small sparking on the floor of the dome, and transformed into their alternate modes. Blaster opened up his chest hatch and allowed the two to be stored inside.

Cautiously, he looked around one last time. Still no sign of 'Cons, but lots of signs of explosions. Looks like they all ran away. Blaster headed towards the exit, assuming that Scoop and Getaway weren't too far behind him, and carefully made his way out of the Dome, avoiding a flying piece of scrap that had been blasted off from a nearby explosion. When he was nearly at the exit, CLANK, a large chunk of metal struck Blaster on his arm. He was knocked over due to the velocity of the scrap. It wasn't anything much, but it made quite a dent in his forearm, with the slightest hint of a leak. It hurt a bit, but it wasn't anything he couldn't pass off for the moment. He got back up, continued on his way out and commed the Dinobots and Hardhead, >>"The 'Cons must've all left, because the base is coming down on itself!"<<

Outside Alpha Dome

Hardhead aimed his shoulder cannon at the dome and raised his two shatterblasters. Responding to Grimlock's orders, he was itching to simply open fire and let all hell loose. He noticed an oddity in the Dome. Something didn't quite feel right. He moved closer to the other Dinobots and he could start feeling a rumbling of sorts from the ground. He asked the closest Dinobot to him, Sludge, and asked "Hey, you feel that too?"

Then came a comm-link from Blaster. The base was on self-destruct? Hardhead's grip around his shatterblasters tightened, and he moved closer to the base in order to spot the Autobots coming out quickly. He wanted to just bring the base down by firing at it. But he didn't want Grimlock to berate him for not following orders. He'd had enough of that already. The tension inside his processors increased. His stubbornness made him almost pull the trigger, despite him knowing that there were others of his own team in there.

Grimlock ceased firing as Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher retreated deeper into the undersea base. His animalistic instinct was to chase after them and finish what he had started. However, his battlefield knowledge told him to be cautious as something did not feel right about the Decepticons just abandoning their base. There had to be a little surprise that had yet to be sprung on the Autobots. There just had to be.

“Outside dome now, Slag! Move!” The Dinobot Commander growled as he once again shoved the flamethrower, propelling him through the exit and into the murky waters of the Yellow Sea. Grimlock then turned back as intense rumblings could be felt, emanating from deeper within the base, itself. They grew stronger by the astrosecond as massive explosions began to erupt everywhere. Blaster then appeared, running for his very life.

“Where others?” Grimlock demanded, not seeing Scoop or Getaway anywhere around. The Dinobot Commander got no immediate response as the base shook violently again. The entire area quickly became a raging inferno as a massive fireball hurled towards them. Grimlock spun around and ran back out into the waters of the Yellow Sea, the hard surface of the dome’s floor replaced by the slime and muck of the seafloor.

>>”The 'Cons must've all left, because the base is coming down on itself!”<<

>>”Me noticed. Dinobots, Hardhead, everyone, base exploding! RUN! Seek cover NOW!!”<<

Grimlock cut his comm line to the others just as one final gigantic explosion ripped the Alpha Dome and its two smaller domes apart, sending a titanic shockwave outward in all directions. Unable to make it very far through the muck and surrounding liquid, the rex-former was struck by the immense force of the underwater shockwave, propelling him quickly forward until Grimlock had been slammed hard into the nearby cliff face.

Snarl, along with the rest of the Dinobots and Autobots, were caught up in the shockwave, as well. The desert warrior’s body struck the rock wall with as much force as Grimlock had. Both Dinobots were pinned for a time as the force of the rushing water pressed against their frames. The whole region continued to shake violently, causing a rock slide from high up the cliff face. With no way to escape, Grimlock and Snarl, and likely many of the others, were soon buried under a ton of rock.

Near Cliff Face – A few breems later...

--Critical situation aboard the Guardian. Command staff assembly urgent.--

Grimlock woke in utter darkness to the sound of Ultra Magnus’ voice. Apparently, there was a problem up on the Guardian that required his immediate presence. Well, that wasn’t going to happen just yet. The City Commander would just have to wait until the Dinobot leader dug himself and his subordinates out of the rubble they now found themselves buried in.

>>”We, too, in critical situation, Magnus. ‘Con base exploded. Team down. Me get there when me can.”<<

“Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!” Grimlock roared as he cut his comm line to the Guardian and tried to move. It was difficult but the rocks slowly began to give way as he punched and elbowed them repeatedly. Once he had enough room, the Dinobot Commander managed to transform into his Tyrannosaurus alt mode, using his jaws to devour and crush as many boulders as possible until he had finally reached the top of the rock pile.

>>”Dinobots, Autobots, report! What your conditions?”<<

Near Cliff Face

Hardhead kicked and punched his way through the rocks. He managed to find a good footing on one of the lower rocks and lifted up the one above him. Making his way out of the rubble, he received Grimlock's comm.

>>"I'm alright, but there's a lot of rocks around here."<<

He looked around and saw the Dinobot commander not too far off. He waved over at him, but also spotted the body of another Dinobot - presumably Sludge. He began lifting and breaking the rocks above him.

Elsewhere Near The Cliff Face

>>"Grimlock... I'm stuck under a large pile... I don't know if you'll be able to find me like this... Hold on..."<<

Blaster tried to shift a few rocks of his aside, just to make enough room to open his chest compartment. He let Ramhorn out, and let him clear out some of the rocks. He transmitted a signal beacon that Grimlock and the others would be able to find, but also turned up one of his favourite Earth tracks loud enough for anyone to hear it if they were close enough. The groove of the track made Blaster thrilled instantly. He began to help Ramhorn push aside some of the rocks, but there were still far too many rocks for just the two of them.

First there was a light... A bright light, followed by the resulting explosion. Water surged and managed to lift the gargantuan Dinobot off his feet and hurdling backwards against the cliff. Then rocks and debris crashed around him before Sludge’s optics went offline to conserve energy.

When he awoke he still found himself in dark. The sound of rocks rumbling around him tickled at his audio receptors, though something else hummed in the ocean. Was it...Was that music? Blaster must’ve been out there, no one would play such “melodies.”

When he felt his strength returning to him, the apatosaurus former began to heave that the boulders sitting atop of him to try and free himself from his earthen prison.

>>”Sludge here,”<< The dinobot reported back to his commander, >>”Under some rocks, but starting to see light again. Slowly... But surely...”<<

From underneath one of the piles of debris, the rock began to glow steadily redder and brighter until a plume of magma-like flame shot up from below. Then, like some sort of otherworldly demon, Slag clawed his way up from the water-laden earth he had been buried beneath after the base's explosion.

His optics were still burning with rage. He had been dead-set on impaling at least two of those green freaks before reducing them to molten goo. It had only been Grimlock calling him back that preempted him from being amongst any casualties located within the decimated remnants of the Constructicons undersea base. And he hated that fact just as much as anything else.

>>"We follow and finish them?<< was Slag's only question right now. It would work as a check-in too.

The mechanical Tyrannosaur had eaten and pushed his way free of the surrounding rocks that had encompassed him and his team after the Decepticon base had exploded. It did not surprise Grimlock that the ‘Cons would attempt to blow them all to Primus. It was in their nature. They tucked tail and ran back to their ship, hoping their little trap would become the Dinobots’ watery grave. Not a chance, of course, but that never stopped the ‘Cons from trying.

Transforming back into robot mode, Grimlock peered around the murky depths of the Yellow Sea as he waited for a response to his prior query. He didn’t have to wait too long as the comms began coming in, first from Hardhead whom the Dinobot leader could see waving at him from a short distance away.

Ignoring the pleasantries, Grimlock took several steps forward as he received additional comms from both Blaster and Sludge, the latter of which began receiving help from Hardhead. The Dinobot leader stopped when his spotted an arm sticking out from underneath another pile of boulders. The rex-former quickly reached down and grabbed a hold of the hand before swiftly pulling up with all of his might. Slowly the buried mech in question began to appear. It was Snarl.

“Grrrrr…..” The Desert Warrior grumbled under his breath as his leader pulled him out from under the rubble.

“You okay, Snarl?” Grimlock asked, helping the spiked Dinobot to his feet.

“Yeah, me fine,” Snarl replied, rubbing his cranium with his left hand as he regained his bearings.

“Good. Go help Blaster while me find Swoop. Still haven’t heard from him yet,” Grimlock stated.

“No problem, Grim,” the Desert Warrior nodded as he stretched his powerful limbs and began walking towards where the communications expert’s beacon and accompanying music were emanating from. Snarl soon found the red mech along with one of his cassettebots, Ramhorn. The tiny rhinoceros was free but Blaster was still mostly buried under a large pile of debris. “Hold on, Blaster, me free you.”

Snarl then transformed into his Stegosaurus alt mode and swung his tail repeatedly against the rock pile. “You may want to stand back, Ramhorn,” the Desert Warrior cautioned as he continued to pound the rocks with his spiked tail. Soon, the boulders began to break apart and Blaster was finally freed from his rocky prison. “There you go, Blasty,” Snarl said, returning to his robot mode. The plated Dinobot then reached a hand down to help the communications expert to his feet.

Meanwhile, Grimlock was searching for his aerial brethren, sweeping his scanners across the fallen rocks and debris that littered the sea floor near the cliff face. >>”Swoop, this Grimlock. Where are you? Respond!”<<

Slag wrote:>>"We follow and finish them?<<

The response Grimlock got was not from Swoop, but Slag. The Dinobot Commander turned to regard his anger-proned subordinate with a stoic expression.

>>”No, Slag, we do not follow. ‘Cons gone. Fled back to their ship like cowards. We remain here and search for comrades not yet accounted for. Then return to Trion. For now, go help others. Find Getaway and Scoop. They last seen somewhere in base. Not sure if they made it out before explosion.”<<

Cutting his comm line, Grimlock went back to looking for Swoop. As the smallest and weakest of the Dinobots, the bombardier was more likely to have suffered greater damage than the rest of the team. >>”Swoop! Respond!”<<

Snarl appeared from above, helping Ramhorn out of the pile. As per the Dinobot's instructions, Ramhorn scuttled off to the side, while the stegosaurus began destroying the rocks. The communications 'bot finally saw light, and gripped the desert warrior's hand. As he was pulled out of the rubble, he lowered the volume of his music, as it had served its purpose, and turned to Snarl. "Thank ya, Snarl!" He grinned. "Ramhorn, hop on back in." The little red rhinoceros did exactly as such and Blaster closed his chest compartment up afterward.

Elsewhere, Hardhead was busy hurling aside the rocks, until he finally saw the jungle warrior peeking out from under the rocks. He lent him his hand and the large Dinobot climbed out of the pile of rocks he was buried under. Giving all of his joints a quick roll, he found his left knee joint to be a bit painful to use. Must've been from the impact.

Blaster headed towards the rest of the 'bots, presumably with Snarl behind him. Picking up Grimlock's comms to Slag, he commed back to the leader, >>"Grimlock, I can set up a beacon and try to find Getaway and Scoop's signals."<< The communications officer opened up his chest compartment again, releasing Steeljaw, Stripes and Saur to start looking around. He set up a beacon that would prod the comms of all Autobots nearby, hoping that eventually it would find Getaway and Scoop's signals. The tank warrior and the apatosaurus instead went around to find the final Dinobot, Swoop.

"Bah," Slag grunted. The Decepticons were almost always cowards. Slag only found a small number of them to be worth his time and energy. Most of the rest collapsed at the first sign of a real fight--mainly any time the Dinobots were deployed.

The Dinobot Flamethrower plodded off, hoping that Blaster could do what he said so that he wouldn't have to waste any time digging up weaklings.

Swoop’s optics flickered with life once again when his commander hollered into his audio receptors. He didn’t have time to brace himself from the surprise explosion, and wasn’t gifted with Sludge’s immovable mass. Around him all he could see was darkness with cracks of light breaking through in certain spots. The Dinobot flier tried to move, which was already hard enough given the current state of his already damaged leg but found no luck. He was stuck under rock and rubble.

>>”I read ya Grimmy!”<< The bombardier responded back, >>”Just can’t... See you...”<< The terrorsaur-former struggled behind the rock, trying to shift the rubble away from him. Even if he couldn’t lift the rock himself, maybe the movements could attract the attention of the rest of his team.

Blaster wrote:“Thank ya, Snarl!”

“No problem, Blaster,” Snarl responded before following the communications expert back over to where the other ‘Bots were located.

Blaster wrote:>>”Grimlock, I can set up a beacon and try to find Getaway and Scoop's signals.”<<

Grimlock paused a moment and looked over at Blaster. “Do it. Snarl, help in the search.” The Desert Warrior nodded as Blaster let out some of his cassettes and quickly set up the beacon he mentioned. The rex-former then went back to searching for the one remaining Dinobot that was unaccounted for. “Dammit, Swoop, where are you?”

Swoop wrote:>>”I read ya Grimmy! Just can’t... See you…”<<

Having finally received a response from his aerial subordinate, Grimlock stopped again and scanned around the immediate area. He soon detected a faint transponder signal along with the sight of a large boulder moving slightly not too far away. The Dinobot Commander hurried through the murky water towards the movement until he was virtually on top of the rock in question. It was clearly shifting in its place as though something underneath was attempting to push it aside. That something was undoubtedly Swoop.

“Hang on, Swoop! Me free you in astrosecond!” Grimlock called out as he leaned down and grasp ahold of the boulder before lifting it up over his head. The rex-former then tossed it aside as though it was a paper weight and looked back down at the spot where the large rock had just been situated. Grimlock smiled under his face shield at the sight of the bombardier. “What? You think you can rest here all cycle? Come on. Get up!” The Dinobot leader said in a joking tone as he extended a hand down to help Swoop up.

Meanwhile, Snarl continued helping Blaster and his cassettebots search for Scoop and Getaway, both of whom were still missing somewhere in the rubble of the base explosion. The Desert Warrior kept his scanner on high as he swept the area for any Autobot transponder signals. Finally, he picked one up. A very weak one.

>>“Me think me found one!”<< Snarl commed the others as he rushed to the spot where the signal was strongest. The plated Dinobot then knelt down and began to dig. Rocks and boulders were thrown aside until a gleam of white metal was exposed at last. Snarl kept digging until he had uncovered more of the seemingly lifeless Autobot. It was Getaway. The Desert Warrior reached down and grabbed the escape artist by his arms and pulled him up and out of the hole. He then checked the limp mech’s vitals and discovered that he was in less than stellar condition.

>>”It’s Getaway. Him alive but in stasis. Suffered severe damage in explosion.”<< Snarl stated, cradling the white Autobot in his arms as he stood back up to his full height. The plated Dinobot then made his way towards Grimlock and the others. >>”Still haven’t found Scoop yet. Hopefully, Blaster and cassettes have better luck.”<<

Hardhead and Sludge were looking around, trying to find the final Dinobot, Swoop. They managed to latch onto a very faint transponder signal, but they watched as the Dinobot commander himself made his way there first, unearthing the avian 'bot. Seeing as the job there was done, the two 'bots went to go help Blaster find the other two 'bots who were lost in the massive explosion.

The red communications officer looked to his side, having found a signal on his beacon. Snarl rolled past Blaster towards it, digging up the spot where it was coming from. A certain white 'bot was lying underneath, but in bad condition. Snarl pulled Getaway out and carried him up. Now, if only they could find Scoo-

Beep!

Blaster's beacon rang up. He'd found a second signal, very much likely Scoop's. Blaster relayed this to the Cassettobots, who immediately ran towards the source. Some mud and slush was covering the rocks under which Scoop was buried. Steeljaw and Stripes began to quickly dig out the dirt, while Saur pushed some of the rocks out of the way. The jungle warrior stepped in and picked up one of the larger rocks, tossing it to the side.

“Thanks for the help, Sludge!” Blaster grinned. Sludge responded with a nod of approval. As soon as the rocks were cleared, a very orange ‘bot was found lying underneath. “Alright, you three, come on back ‘ere!” Blaster opened up his chest compartment to let the three Cassettobots in. Hardhead, being smaller than Sludge, reached in and lifted Scoop out. Much like Getaway, he too was damaged badly. Both of the ‘bots swept off in the explosion needed tending to.

Heading back towards the rest of the group, Blaster approached Grimlock. “Looks like we’re all done here. We gotta get Scoop and Getaway to the medbay quickly. I’ll comm up some Autotroopers to pull us outta here.”

Doing just so, Blaster sent a comm up to the Guardian, to an Autotrooper who was manning the bounce chamber’s controls.

Slag stalked around the area, casually keeping an optic out for anything obvious but otherwise not frantically searching for any Autobot stupid enough to have got themselves caught in the worst of the blast.

He saw increased activity in a couple of spots and as he got closer saw Autobots hurriedly digging out their own. Would he have assisted one of them if they happened to have been directly underfoot as he was walking by? Maybe. But otherwise he was just ready to recharge, reload and find the next group of Decepticons who needed to be slagged.

“Looks like we’re all done here. We gotta get Scoop and Getaway to the medbay quickly. I’ll comm up some Autotroopers to pull us outta here,” he overheard Blaster say to the Dinobot Commander as he closed the distance between the other mechs.

"Good. Done here."

“Looks like we’re all done here. We gotta get Scoop and Getaway to the med bay quickly. I’ll comm up some Autotroopers to pull us outta here,” Blaster said as he sent a signal to the Guardian for a return bounce. Slag seemed to concur with the communications specialist as he mumbled under his breath about being done.

Grimlock couldn’t help but agree, as well. The ‘Cons were all gone and the base was destroyed. Although, the Dinobot Commander had hoped it would’ve been him and his team to do the destroying. It certainly would’ve been much more fun than watching the Decepticons flee like cowards before blowing up their own headquarters. Still, the destruction made Grimlock smile under his face shield and the fact that they had brought down Devastator made this mission a resounding success as far as the rex-former was concerned.

“Yes, we done here,” Grimlock confirmed to the team as he assembled alongside everyone else and waited for the bounce beam to arrive. Snarl, still carrying Getaway, stood just behind his leader as bright light suddenly enveloped the Dinobots and their puny Autobot comrades, whisking them all back to the Guardian up in orbit.

((OOC: The Dinobots and Autobots can now post in the Guardian thread.))
