Most likely my in-laws will spend most of their time in the Dealer Room, looking for toys to buy me  I've made a list of my wants, but it's like 18 pages and counting... I need to split it up and slim it down to a more manageable and, more importantly, realistic size

I'm going to send them the brochure and get back to you guys. But I do want that box set, because it has Ultra Magnus in it.

Any vets have any good advice on recouping costs from a trip like this? I had planned on buying a second set of complete figures, and either piecing it out or selling as a whole set. Not sure which way to go.

My son is 6 and I'd like to take him, I'm planning on signing him up for the club and using him to get my extras. Any Problems with this approach?

BTW, other details. Coming from FL, planning to drive and stay in off site hotel and arrive Thurs afternoon and leave Sun afternoon.

Many people purchase a second set and sell it to recoup some of their costs. As for piecing it out versus selling it whole, it really depends on you and your potential purchasers. There are usually at least a figure or two that are less desirable than others, so if you sell it piece by piece, you may end up with a figure or two left over that nobody wants to buy. Personally, I would lean towards trying to sell the entire set and only resort to piecing it out of you can't find a buyer for the whole thing.

Any Primus or Minicon or Protoform Package holder can purchase the Add-On figures from the Club Store, so if you get your son a package as well, you will have a chance to buy more of the add-ons. There is usually a limit for how many of each one person can buy initially.

Also, I strongly recommend making your Club Store Add-On purchases Thursday evening immediately following Registration. The line may be horrendous, but many times the more popular Add-On Sets sell out sometime Friday. Shattered Glass 2008 is a great example.

That last statement is soooooo true...Tigertracks and I maybe spent 20 minutes in the souvenier line for 2010, I reccomend the cash line, it moves amazingly faster. Also if the rumor of the SG junkions is true and they are the 3 pack, I HIGHLY advise picking them up right after package pick up..Those things( if true) are going to FLY.

and if that is the case i will purchase someones 3 pack if they dont want it :)

Original article updated to reflect recent years' price increases, six-figure boxed set as opposed to five, added information on Golden Ticket Packages, added mention of Seibertron.com Meet-up. Which reminds me, do we have a planned time/location for the Meet-up this year?

As soon as I get my hotel situation squared away I'll look into it. There are a BUNCH of bars and resturants with in a few blocks of the con and thr west end is close as well. Clubs, bars etc etc ..Lots to choose from..

Depends but most of the time its not too long after the con. I know BBTs starts selling them a week or two after the con.

One bit of advice I can give for those who are making this their first con, prepare yourself for sensory overload! There will be so much going on it will be easy to get overwhelmed. Good job on the guide savage!
