Seibertron's 2021 Year End Review

So here we are, another year is over and done with and while looking back on 2021 might not be of high importance on everyone's list of things to do, we did get some pretty cool figures. So the staff team at Seibertron got together to share what they liked best of the year in different categories and we invite you to join in on the fun and give us your pick for each category. Now, here we go!

Figure of the year

Image

william-james88: Kingdom Rodimus Prime. As part of the standard Kingdom line, spending $80 on a voyager sized figure is rough. BUT if the same toy was released as a special "Gen MP" release, which was a line of toys with MP level engineering made to fit in with the current classics scale line, and he came with a trailer, turret platform, accessories (matrix, sword of Primus, effect parts) fans would be all "take my money" and the fact that it's below $100 would sound almost incredulous. Well that's what this Rodimus Prime toy is, truly. More complex than MP-10 with similar number of accessories. And since he's chug scale, he's 80$ instead of 150$ (hell, this released these days in MP scale and MP quality, we'd be looking at $250). I for one thank our Hasbro overlords for trusting me to understand what I am getting in this 80$ package. Obviously, if you find it on sale, then that's even more awesome but that's the same for any great toy.

Scotty P: MP-52 Starscream and/or MP-52+ Thundercracker. I suppose Skywarp makes the cut here too, though end of December releases get tricky, especially with the slower pace of international shipping these days. Anyhow, this third version of a Masterpiece seeker mold delivers the pinnacle, thus far, of the "Sunbow" style design aesthetic for the MP line. Delivering a complex transformation that is, for once, pretty easy to learn while still achieving a superb sculpt with all the articulation you need made this a slam dunk. I didn't need any more Masterpiece seekers but given what the final product is in this case, I can say in retrospect this is something I really wanted.

Bounti76: Unicron. The sheer scale of the figure and the PRESENCE he has is worth the cost.

ZeroWolf: I was conflicted here. Part of me wanted to give this to Unicron but then I couldn't think of a good reason why compared to others. So instead I'm going to say...Transformers Kingdom Core Class Rattrap. Sure, his shoulders are awkward but any toy I can return to and fiddle with constantly are a win for me.

Kanrabat: Definitely Masterpiece Reboost. Not only it's an original character for once (at least in the TF universe) but it's an AFFORDABLE MP with a simple transformation that is FUN to do. I was blown away by this truly Masterpiece of a Masterpiece.

Favourite Kingdom toy

Image

william-james88: Even though this was the best year ever for my favourite series, Beast Wars, none of the beasts impressed me as much as Cyclonus. That transformation was amazing, truly going from one completely different form to another.

Scotty P: Rodimus Prime. Kingdom was an excellent line overall and this nearly went to Dinobot with even Huffer getting some consideration in my mind. Rodimus Prime is something like a dream which is why it gets the nod here for me. Some fans are understandably apprehensive about the switch from size classes to price classes even now, years after it happened, and Rodimus Prime certainly can be looked at as the poster child of this when comparing the robot mode to previous releases such as Jetfire. This is a case where size just doesn't matter when the toy uses that additional budget to be so darn good. Rodimus borrows cues from several previous iterations of the character and even MP-44 for the under-trailer accessory storage, has every feature he needs and even possesses the best headsculpt we've seen for this character ever. It's not perfect, as the trailer tab tolerances are a little frustratingly off and the packaging itself caused paint woes, but this is one of those topics asking for a "favorite" and not "best", so Commander Class Rodimus Prime was an easy pick.

Bounti76: Tie between Slammer and Cyclonus. Slammer is great fun to transform and feels solid, and Cyclonus not only looks the part, but is an engineering slam dunk.

ZeroWolf: this was going to be Airazor but Tigatron nipped her to the post.

Kanrabat: Very hard to decide. I guess Leader Beast Megatron is my favorite of the bunch. A fantastic mold with amazing poseability and great show accuracy. Why pay 400$+ for the MP when you can have this one?

Favourite Studio Series toy

Image

william-james88: Slug, it was really great to finally get another big dinobot that wasn't Grimlock for a change. I love how beefy he is and I feel these leaders (both he and Grimlock) give us what we all want in a leader class release.

Scotty P: Studio Series 86 Grimlock. If Studio Series' branding being co-opted by The Transformers: The Movie wasn't enough, the toys released for this section of the line have been far superior, delivering pleasant and high-quality figures with 90% less of that frustrating 'panel massage action' when compared to their movie universe peers. Ignoring Wheelie, who should have been replaced with a sword, this is very nearly the definitive Classics-style Grimlock I've always wanted. An excellent companion piece in Slag makes me very excited for the inevitable releases of Sludge, Snarl and Swoop.

Bounti76: Tie between Dino and Jolt. We FINALLY got screen accurate versions of these two... only 10 years after the movie they were in came out. Technically, Dino's car mode isn't a Ferrari, but licensing issues aside, still looks great.

ZeroWolf: Grimlock, has to be...Who can resist a robot dinosaur?

Kanrabat: SS86 Grimlock. Simple, yet so perfect. Another mini MP.

Favourite Cyberverse toy

Image

william-james88: I really didn't like deluxe Soundwave when he was first shown. The character has a great model on the show but it seemed ruined with some offputting kibble. But in hand, most of the issues went away. Not physically, everything I disliked was still there, but I just loved transforming and posing him that they didn't matter as much.

Scotty P: Deluxe Slug. Sometimes you have so many toys of a given character (or character archetype) that you feel like there are no surprises left to be had. Cyberverse Slug takes away some of the jaded feelings this old-timer gets on occasion by delivering two expressive modes that have a process to transform between the two that lives up to the brand's "More Than Meets the Eye" tagline.

Bounti76: Deluxe Class Arcee. Screen accurate robot (minus the back kibble) that actually feels decently made, and not be a "kiddie" toy, designed more to be cheap.

ZeroWolf: Deluxe Class Dinobot Slug...see previous answer.

Kanrabat: I didn't bought much Cyberverses so I'll cheat a bit because he was re-released in 2021. Ultra Skullcrunsher. This one blow both the OG G1 and the TR update away. Sure, he's no headmaster but the whole package just works. He's fun to transform, have a logical gimmick and he do MORE than the previous versions. Truly impressive.

Favourite Masterpiece toy

Image

Scotty P: MP-53 Reboost. As is tradition, I've managed to pick two MP toys in this list once again. It's true though, while I don't think this is on the same objective level of nicety as the new Starscream, Reboost is an amalgamation of so many cool ingredients at once that he quickly became my unexpected favorite Transformer for the last little while. Start with the equally great MP-52 Skids, give him a cool red repaint, extra accessories, the soul of Diaclone and a headsculpt with the energy of Alternity and you get an amazing piece that feels like a celebration of everything that went into making it a reality. The fact that Reboost is a "literally nobody" type of character could be a knock against it, but in this era of Total Brand Awareness where everyone in the brand's A and B tiers gets done ad nauseum, these are the types of Transformers that spark the imagination and keep me invested.

Bounti76: Skids. Out of nowhere, and he and Reboost bring me back to the things I loved about Masterpiece in the early 2010s- fun transformation and durability of the figures without being overly complex.

ZeroWolf: Skids, thanks to not having to rely on cartoon accuracy, they instead made a fantastic toy that shines in both modes.

Kanrabat: I'll say MP Reboost again.

Favourite Exclusive

Image

william-james88: We had great exclusives this year. I FINALLY got my coneheads but I can't use that for the best exclusives of this year since they were supposed to arrive in 2020. With beasts being absent from this Beast Wars fan's year end list, it's about time I changed that as I claim Covert Agent Ravage as my favourite exclusive. This was not cheap but it is the best toy of the character we ever got and none of those were ever cheap. I appreciate how he transforms different from Cheetor at parts and looks very different in robot mode. It's also a really cool package with a fun spin on how incredulous his transformation was on the show.

Scotty P: Buzzworthy Bumblebee's "Worlds Collide" set. This feels like a throwback to the exclusives of 20 years ago and I love it. One set manages to provide a killer black and teal repaint of a "good guy faction" leader that hasn't been done 19,000 times already, Blackarachnia in her weekend clubbin' outfit, a re-use of the awesome Earthrise Cliffjumper tooling as Bumblebee to fill in your kinda-sorta-Mini-Bot-homage ranks and a toy that should've been released years ago in Fangry. In a time where store exclusives are becoming as large a part of the overall Transformers toy line as the main series releases, this stood out as a uniquely fun and creative set that provided great value.

Bounti76: Tie between Tyrannocon Rex and Puffer and Road Ranger. The first female Leader Class figure. An official toy of a European version of a character that used another character's mold, and an official toy of an eHobby exclusive that brought GoBots into the Transformers family. I'm all about firsts and obscurity.

ZeroWolf: Origin Bee. Despite not being a G1 purist, I know a fun toy when I see one.

Kanrabat: Agent Ravage. A great package for a relatively reasonable price, with a superb figure. The engineering on the Agen Ravage is quite something.

Favourite piece of Transformers fiction from 2021

Image

william-james88: My kids and I had a blast with the two Cyberverse films. I really wish we had a Volcanicus that transforms as he does on the show.

Scotty P: Cyberverse special 2 "The Perfect Decepticon". Honestly, it was such a bad year for Transformers fiction that nothing even came close except for the other Cyberverse special, but I picked this second one because the first one focused on one of the worst concepts in Transformers: combining Dinobots :shudders: Additionally, this special accomplished something that was very questionably possible by managing to make Tarn a character that worked in an all-ages piece of media while still keeping true to the character and his truly menacing personality. Add in fantastic roles for characters such as Soundwave and Hot Rod while providing moments to almost every character that mattered previously in the series at some point and you get "The Perfect Decepticon", which was the perfect finale for the best Transformers cartoon series since Armada.

Bounti76: Light/Star, the Transformers Annual for 2021. It strongly featured the first ever female Titan to have appeared in fiction, but also saw the "birth" of Computron (my favorite childhood combiner) in IDW.

ZeroWolf: The Transformers Cyberverse conclusion (thanks to Pop! On Sky TV for airing the specials in the UK!)

What are you looking forward to most next year

william-james88: Seeing what will happen toy wise with the change in release schedule for Transformers Rise of the Beasts. This delay was way too late in the toy development cycle so I am curious if Hasbro will release what was done already and rerelease it later. And I am also curious as to how different the toys will be from the final models now that there is even more time spent in post production between toy designs and final movie designs.

Scotty P: The chaos that ensues from RotB's delay. Necessity is the father of innovation. Mother of invention. Cousin of filler toy lines? Something like that. Bring me all the weird repaints and previously canceled molds. They're probably better than all the movie toys were going to be anyhow.

Bounti76: Finally/hopefully getting a G1 Elita One, and saving money- Legacy looks to be an easy pass for me so far, based on what I've seen.

ZeroWolf: A toss up from looking at what the line after Legacy looks like, and more MP Raiden reveals

Kanrabat: The toys being better distributed with fewer QC issues. But I think I'm asking for the moon.

How dare you removed my non-comment from the fiction category? [-(

But seriously, I find fun that we are all pretty much on the same page in finding that K. Rodimus, SS86 Grimlock, and MP Skids/Reboost are the champions of 2021.

Looking forward more greatness for 2022!

Excellent list. I have to agree with every pick.

Rodimus is fantastic for an $80 master piece level Gen figure.

Cyclonus is also up there in terms of accuracy and engineering. The Jet mode completely disappears.

Grimlock is another example of how good Gen toys are now, that they rival MPs. He's truly a ton of un. His stiff pack-in buddy not withstanding.

I wish I could experience the World Collide set. Really want that Black Arachnia. but alas he's not easily found around here for less than a kidney or half a liver.

Don't have any particular attachment to Skids so totally ignored this MP.

For the rest, I have no real opinion.

As to the future, I think I'm looking most forward to Leader Blitzwing. since I missed TR Blitzwing when he was out, I want something to replace my T30 version which has now decided to fall apart. The rubber panel that holds the head broke off. One of the rear fins cracked. He's in poor shape now.

So a good update in Leader class is something I sorely need now.

Figure of the Year: Paleotrex - The Fossilizers were an amazing breath of fresh air. The next step beyond Weaponzisers and Modulators was extremely fun. As mucxh as I love new updates to classic characters, I simply find them all, especiallyPaleotex to be extremely fun and well made.

Favorite Kingdom Figure: Tigatron (My Slammer is set to arrive in mere hours, but alas it is already 6 days into 2022) :(

Studio Series: Haven't purchased any, but SS86 Grimlock looked great!

Cyberverse: None

MP: None

Exclusive: Tricranious. The color on this Fossilizer is amazing, and the blast effects were very welcome to many fans, was definitely a cool concept.

Fiction: TT Generation Selects Special Comics - 2021, for me personally, was defintely at the low end of the spectrum as far as TF media. IDW Comics and Cyberverse held no interest for me. WFC Kingdom on Netflix was *tolerable*, but still deviated from the familiar, and the lack of budget and poor quality acting/directing was a major downer.

By default, the TT Generation Selects Special Comics are the clear winner. They combine both the familiar, but take idea in new and interesting directions, sometimes crazily insane as only Japan can do. Unfortunately there appears to be little prospect of ever getting official translations or having them collected in a print volume similar to what Viz did last year with the original Manga TF pages. The fan translations will suffice for now, which is fine.

Looking Forward to Most Next Year: TT MPG Raiden Project, or at least the start of it. This is a character long overdue for a modern update. True , I would have preferred a standard Generations release, but this will be my first real foray into the world of MP collecting, and I'm curious to see how the final product will come out.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

"Generations Masterpiece" should be a part of the TF fandom lexicon.

2021 was a big year for BIG figures. Rodimus rightfully took the crown for me, Leader Grimlock & Slug are both great, especially since, for me at least, most Leader class figures of the past 2~3 years weren't justified in their prices for me for years, in terms of size or engineering.

And to think I almost passed on Rodimus. I was absolutely floored by how good Hot Rod was. Deluxe scale @ Voyager price was easy to swallow here in Canada. The extra accessories & engineering easily justified the price. It's better than the actual MP in everyway (other than scale because of diff. toy lines). So I was very hesitant in getting Rodimus Prime because I got POTP Rodimus and w/ Hot Rod being so amazing, I was like "Do I really need to shell out $150CDN for Kingdom Rodium?" But I took the bait and I was not regretting a single bit after getting it in hand (seeing it on sale a month later was another thing though...). The toy itself justify the MSRP price, because it IS a "Generations Masterpiece" with very few fault. For people how doubt its Commander price: put it this way, which toy I spent more time transforming & posing with at the Commander class (Jetfire, Skylinx and Rodium)? Rodium for sure. Like, several times over the other 2.

So yeah, Hasbro making Core/Deluxe/Voyager/Leader/Commander as "price classes" is a good move so far. I can see the engineering reasons for every "controversal" figures that got "moved up" a class for and I agree with the decision. The extra budget truly makes for a better toy. I much prefer to pay a bit more for a better engineered toy because it is the engineering that interests near-50yo me in Transformers figures.

I just hope Hasbro will honestly do "price classes" justice. Toys are getting far more expensive than it used to just 3~4 years ago. For me, TF went consistantly downhill after TFP, thus giving room for 3P to take the engineering crown (and a big piece off Hasbro's profts). I thought Hasbro reversed course in the SS & WFC and gave us some really great figures at affordable prices in those lines. But Legacy is not looking great comparatively to WFC so far, and we got near bupkis on future SS news to be exicted about for me. "Price classes" and "Generations Masterpieces" are what make me hopeful, weirdly enough.

2021 was a great year for collecting for me (and my brother). My collection increased from 310 at the end of 2020 to almost 340 on December 31st. That's the biggest single year jump I've made in years! And just about every addition has been a truly enjoyable experience. Much of it was 2020 product that eluded me that year, but for the Kingdom line and 2021 Studio Series, solid stuff all around. I've been struggling to come up with a "top" Transformer because there are so many cases to be made. It feels mundane to give it to a deluxe, but Airazor and Huffer are both excellent. Jolt and Dino are long awaited firsts. Cyberverse Thunderhowl was actually really fun and had a great transformation. Optimus Primal and Tigatron are both pretty much perfect, not to mention Dinobot and Cyclonus. SS86 gave us effectively the perfect Grimlock, Jazz, Hot Rod and others. Beast Megatron and Galvatron redeemed the Leader Class. Toy wise, 2021 was possibly the best in a long time, especially without the delays and availability issues that sabotaged the 2020 releases.

In regards to fiction, the Cyberverse movies were really good, especially "The Perfect Decepticon", but I'd also like to congratulate Kingdom for being not just passably good like its predecessors, but legitimately entertaining and a great tribute to G1 and BW.

In 2022 I'm looking forward to beginning the Masterpiece Trainbots, and finishing both G1 and Beast Wars casts in toy form. Bring on Victory Saber! But most of all, I'm itching to hear more about Cybertron characters being updated, like Override and Metroplex, and hopefully more!

Happy 2022 to all Seibertronians!

Figure of the Year:
Has to be SS86 Grimlock for me... It really feels like it was a long, long, long, long, long, long, long wait to get this character in this high quality of a figure.
Yeah, Wheelie is a waste, but that obviously still doesn't change how incredible Grimlock is.

Favorite Kingdom Figure:
Cyclonus, hands down... I remember being really impressed with SS86 Hot Rod and Scourge, and this guy still topped them both.
So on point in so many ways... He deserves the title of Mini MP.

Favorite Studio Series Figure:
Grimlock, with Slag really close behind. Both are awesome, and make me happy every time I see them on my shelf!

Favorite MP Figure:
MP Starscream... Almost bucket list relative to collecting to have him join my others.
As of right now he will be the last MP figure I'm planning on buying.

Favorite Exclusive:
Origins Bee... Love the alt mode, and he's just a lot of fun for being so small.

Fiction:
N/A

Looking Forward to Most:
SS86 Sludge... Cannot wait for this guy!!!!

fig of the year: kingdom leader galvatron

Netflix's ongoing trailer lineup had me really looking forward to this guy even though I don't have Netflix and have only seen the trailers and heard bad things about the actual shows, finally got me a leader galvatron and he is great.

fav kingdom: blackarachnia

As someone who grew up with BW but missed out on most of the figures in the first run I really really wanted a blackarachnia to be good from BW and I was very satisfied with this one.

fav studio series: 86 wreckgar

Probably the best g1 wreckgar and a good size to have him at too.

fav cyberverse: deluxe cheetor

reviews for kids said this one would be fun so I spent the last half of 2021 looking for him and finally got him around thanksgiving, pretty cool and fun on christmas for me.

fav mp: mpm12 bumblebee optimus prime

I dont do alot of online stuff so this was the only new MP I really got a hold of.

fav exclusive: worlds collide

All the redecos are great and it came with bumblebee who I didn't get in another form.

fav fiction: netflix kingdom (trailer)

The netflix kingdom trailer for me was like a classic hero movie trailer you see and are amazed by, for me thoise trailers include Robocop 2, and Ironman 3... when you just say "dat trailer though" and can't wait to see more of what is going on even if it disappoints you still look back and think about the trailer it had. The stuff netflix could have done with this buildup could go alot of ways, and like I said, I haven't seen any of it though I heard from reviews it was a let down.

looking forward to the most next year: legacy laser optimus prime, rest of legacy

The original G2 Laser prime was one of my fav toys as a kid and sadly I lost his sword and some of his missile discs so I can't wait for him and the rest of the upcoming legacy stuff.

Between slow shipments and COVID this was one of my slower years for TF, also hoping that next year does alot better being someone who mostly shops at brick and mortar and not online, really can't wait to put all the delays behind us as far as the brick and mortar shopping.

Kingdom Dinobot is my #1 despite the complaints about wobby lower half.

Followed closely by Hot Rod. The alt mode of the cab for Rodimus is ugly to me.

Love Kingdom Cyclonus too.

My issues with Dinobot, and what really stops me from loving the toy, is all related to the alt mode.
I have issues with the eyes, the hands and the orange balls on his chest. The last two issues more so.

It looks like your Grimlock has replacement articulated hands. Which ones are they? That does push him up a bit from his standard release though.

I got some, and while they look o.k, and definitely make Grimlock much better than with his closed fists, I would like something a bit more beefy. The ones I got have slightly thinner fingers so don't look great. They look Good and work fine. Just a bit thin for Grimlock.

They are... The fingers are a little loose, but it's kind of to be expected.
The (and a sword not pictured) were purchased on ebay. 3D DIY was in the search.
But heads-up; the person/company I bought them from ended up giving me a deal because they're listing was really poorly worded and set-up-- it literally had the set of hands in the description (and title) as well as in the listing photos...
I thought the price was low, but instantly bought it. The seller came back and tried to say it was just for the sword... So after giving my explanation, reasoning, etc., after messaging a couple times they sent the hands and the sword.

Sooner than later I'll get an add-on kit for Slag, too. I want his tail filled with a better piece than his blaster.

:-?

While it is nice to have a cheap option. One that isn't a piece of junk like the original figure. The MP and Kingdom figures are leagues apart and a false equivalence to compare. Yesss ;)

K. Beast Megs remain the better option to have a "perfect" representation of the character without having to spend 500$.

As I said it is good to have a cheap option. But on a MP shelf, Kingdom Megs would look bad even next to Blackarachnia.

Different lines for different price brackets. I see reviews online from people like Emgo who don't compare regular line figures to MP's. I think someone asked with Kingdom Primal or Prime, and he said there is no point.

Obviously for a MP shelf, anything other than a MP is moot.

For someone who don't want a MP display because space, budget, or lack of interests, the current Generations trilogy is better than ever and fit the bill perfectly.

Exactly that. Which was my point. You wouldn't have MP Beast Megs alongside the rest of the Kingdom line, by the same token. He wouldn't match the aesthetic.

Admittedly they are more than a decade apart. But at a similar price point, Kingdom Beast Megs is superior in every single measurable metric to the OG figure. Which to me, was one of the worst in the entire line. They put effort into the Kingdom figure and it does show. Not just because it has already had three redecos

That was my point from the beginning.

Regardless, only my BEASTS Kingdoms are displayed with each others as a single display. Usually, I go with characters display regardless of lines or size classes. I rarely buy any MP because the entry fee is now way too high.

It has been a long time since I've been impressed enough to buy into regular retail lines again. WFC was close. As it did remind me of the High Moon game designs I did enjoy. But when it ditched those immediately after Siege, my interest was lost. Likewise with Kingdom, I was never really a fan of the Season One BW designs for the show characters.

Obviously, one collect what one wants to.

But then, space ultimately run out.
Especially when one collect too many lines like me! :HEADHURTS:

I haven't posted pics in a while. But my MK Storm Collectibles line has grown by four. The Neca Flash Gordon/DotE line currently stands at five. With another three between the two, expected this year. Plus another redeco of both Super Shredder and Toxie also due in 2022 (bringing both of them to three figures each). Plus a teased Storm Collectibles Gatchaman line that I am Really tempted by and...

The year certainly had some highlights, but was also pretty lackluster in a couple important places for me. So my picks are:

Figure of the Year: Kingdom Ark. This figure has done so much for me, it has completely blown away any expectations I had had for it, and it is so much fun. I named in Iaconus after the Cyberverse War Titan, and I love him so much. He blew away any expectations I had for him. He is the king of the year

Image

Favorite Kingdom Figure: I will give this one to Tigatron. I have really enjoyed the beasts, and just been whelmed at best by the non-beasts, and I really like the cats. I enjoy the cat molds, and Tigatron refined that and really made it great. He is a lot of fun, and I look forward to the mutant version coming up too.

Image

Studio Series: I had a hard time with this. Thrust is objectively the best toy of the year, but subjectively I had to go with Dino. He is a pretty solid mold that only needed a couple refinements to be really great, and he is a long time dream come true. He was a wonderful choice for the year, in a year where we didn't get many live action bots either.

Image

Cyberverse: /i gotta give this one to deluxe Slug. He is such a great figure, easily eclipsing his SS86 namesake and overall being an incredible figure. He is a class of his own for this category

Image

MP: I only got MPM-12 this year, so he wins by default. I won't get reboost for a couple months, otherwise he might have won. MPM-12 has a great robot mode, which a couple of weak spots, and a fun transformation. Shame the alt mode is kinda pretty bad in the back half, but he's still a pretty great robot.

Image

Exclusive: Arriving late, but Puffer has been such a fun and pleasant surprise. I love the idea of a fusion bot, and he lives up to the hype in my head. He is a lot of fun, he is fun just to carry around and fiddle with. He's a blast

Image

Fiction: The 2 Cyberverse specials easily take this category, no other fiction really lived up to expectations this year. the BW ongoing is good, and so is King Grimlock, but I am still waiting on Trades to fully appreciate them, so I didn't feel good ranking them yet. Volcanicus, the Mercs, Grimlock, Soundwave, and Tarn really did make the year for me, Cyberverse ended fantastically, it really is one of the best TF series.

Looking Forward to Most Next Year: I am looking forward most to the MP category. I am super excited for Trainbots, like really excited, and if we do get an MPM Blackout, I am ready for a titan of a copter bot to come!
