Hey, it's been a while!! How are things?

*reads page of posts*

Oh snap! Things are good!!

Speaking of buying, the last thing I bought was the Voltron '84 Black Lion. Who is amazing and I can't wait to finish the set.

I've slowed WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY down since December. I think more things will be going out and I'm trying to enjoy what I have. I still think I'd like to get an MP36 of some variety, even if it ends up being a KO just due to funds. It's not like I'd be like "ooh look at my official Takara MP36" or anything.

Who knows. What I do know is I'm glad you're happy with what you are happy with. ;)^

I'm not familiar enough to list the differences, but I think it's overall improved QC and some superficial mold/deco changes, but dayum!

Initially, I wasn't into PE's Lio, but YAS that V2 is so hot. He's really givin me the wants. :x

I always thought it was a bummer that Eva Convoy didn't have any special accessories, so I'm just do it myself! And sorry D, I haven't opened Lordover
I haven't opened the last 12 or so LG's, and they might stay that way until I move.

Funny you should mention 36...

I opened him. The reissue I mean, my first run will remain sealed.
He looks, and feels, AMAZING.

Image

But unfortunately he came right out of the box with a couple niks and scratches, so I think that answers the question of "hows the QC on the reissue". Y'all should look up Benscollectibles. He has reviewed (I think) every KO MP-36, and I've decided to buy one of them! For a couple reasons, 1) so I can transform him, and 2) because the one I've chosen (Magten) is quite different. He's silver, has red inner legs, and comes with toy accurate chest and face pieces. Not to mention he'll be the first random piece I've bought in months 8-}

Been really has reviewed everything in the realm of the MP36KO, and I still think I'd go with THF.

So how do you like him compared to Apollyon?

It's difficult to describe. Apollyon is great. Sunsurge is great. But MP-36, and MP-39, are on another level.

Split away, Cary! I may need one of those eventually -- I'm really liking Lio Convoy in Beast Wars II. :MAXIMAL:

I opened my MP-36 upon arrival today, Shaj. Holy hell, talk about a Masterpiece! No nicks or scratches outta the box (and no glue residue for the plug -- HLJ just plugged it in loose!), and I find myself holding him like he's a newborn robobaby.

Megatron, Bluestreak and Soundwave bring my total MP count to 3! I'd consider a KO just so he doesn't get damaged...but I can't stop admiring him. :CON:

I appreciate the Cosmo reference Shaj ;)^

To be honest, that's what I thought. The others were stand-ins in the end. Dang it.

I think I'd end up with the KO of MP36 just due to the fact that I don't have $200 to spend on a figure. I think for Sunstreaker I want to wait and see what other version comes out, possibly Diaclone based, or even the police deco (I'd really like to pick up Clampdown and have the three po-po's together). I could have the KO of MP36 AND the official of MP39 in whichever I choose for the original MSRP of MP36. I gotta do what's right for my wallet, that should be it.

HLJ... plug... what? Mine was from them and I had no plugs :-?
And yeah, he just FEELS amazing eh? I should be apprehensive transforming him, but I'm actually looking forward to it. Just need a copy that can take the punishment....

itscramtastic wrote:I gotta do what's right for my wallet, that should be it.
That's what it's all about bud ;)
I'll always be a Hastak first kinda guy, but I understand some peoples need for the KO's. And there's a huge argument to me made in the case of 36. For his price, we should NOT have to worry about scratching him all to hell by doing something (transforming him) that he's designed to do. It's a very serious flaw unfortunately and it's kind of disheartening. :(

However... there is light at the end of the tunnel. 36 is sub-par ONLY in the sense of the paint scratching, AND they didn't fix it with their reissue. But now there's 39 (Sunstreaker). He is another beautiful work of art, painted everywhere, with a million moving parts, and after asking around people say they've noticed no chipping even after heavy handling. They are clearly learning from their mistakes, and this give me high hopes for MP Dinobot :KREMZEEK:

MP Dinobot...now that's a figure I'm not sure I'll be transforming for a while after I get him. Honest question: Are most MP figures difficult to transform? They look so, but I wonder if it's just that it's nice to bask in their glory for a while before transforming them

I haven't done that in like 27ish years. It hurts my butt sometimes on how old the SNES is. Been meaning to jump back on the Classic, but I can't pry paws of BotW.

What else ya playing on it? I dabbled in SMW, LttP and M3 but had 2 week fling with an old flame that goes by the name of Secret of Mana. That game is as rock solid today as it was in '93. The music still gives me goosebumps.

One of these days I hope to scratch one of my biggest bucket list regrets off, Earthbound. It's an intimidating mountain that I'm not sure if I'm ready to climb.

No doubt I'll do a 100% run on LTTP, but that'll only occupy me for 4-5 hours lol. I mean, I've played it through probably more than 15 times.

I'd say I'm an above average gamer, but the internet sure showed me that... good gamers? Are scary good. I ain't that.

My biggest regret in gaming... SMW2: Yoshi's Island. Back on my original SNES, I had 100% on every level, including the bonus levels (which you only unlock after getting 100% for every level in the given world).... except the last one. Bonus Level 6. I just couldn't do it. And I tried man. I probably spent the better part of a day dedicated to that one level. And when gaming rage makes you want to cause massive physical destruction to... everything... it's time to put the controller down
I never picked it back up and tried again though. I still have the cart, but I imagine the save file is long gone by now. :(

I definitely gotta get back on the SNES Classic -- we have been playing Secret of Mana as well!

I started Earthbound, but my daughter kinda took over -- she really likes it, and I don't mind watching.

I'm still a bit apprehensive about the paint chipping on Megatron....but I must transform him sooner or later! Then again, I have yet to transform my MP Soundwave! I've had so much fun with him in bot mode I've never even made the attempt. :p

I've transformed every MP.. at least once since they usually come packaged in alt mode. Except Dirge... I don't think I TF'd him. You could argue that I've done an MP-11 transformation enough times already, but he is unique. I think I was too excited to get him shelved with the other two Coneheads, it was a trio too long in the making

I've ran through LttP more times than I can remember. 4-5 hours seems short, but it's been a while.

Yeah, good gamers are scary.

Those SNES batteries have some serious life to em. Give it a go or replay the whole thing on the SNESC. Never say never, I walked away from Ocarina of Time and never looked back, but have been recently enjoying it again on the 3DS.

Too many games not enough time.

What?! I'm surprised. I'm not one of them, but many regard OOT to be their #1. Incidentally, the 3DS version is the one where I truly did 100% completion. I always had all items/upgrades/hearts, but on the 3DS for the first time I collected all the Gold Skulltulas. Felt nice.

The one I find daunting is Majora's Mask. I just couldn't get into it initially due to the clock thing and saving system. Years later I gave it a good go (after WW came out) but lost interest halfway through. I own the 3DS version too... have yet to pop it in :(

Yeah the drum/hands boss made me rage quit. I got really frustrated, beat him, saved turned off the console, boxed it up and never looked back. Come to find out with the right shoes, he's a breeze. It's a good game and did break ground (in Zelda) but it's not the be all end all best game of the century. Several games on the SNES, PS1 and SMB64 belong in those slots.

The one I find daunting is Majora's Mask. I just couldn't get into it initially due to the clock thing and saving system. Years later I gave it a good go (after WW came out) but lost interest halfway through. I own the 3DS version too... have yet to pop it in :(
I've never even attempted that game. With my storied past with OoT and the time limit, I decided it wasn't for me. There are ways around those limits, but honestly I'm still not interested.

I think this is the year I put my back log out to pasture. I'm not getting any younger and games seem to just keep getting longer. So if a game can't keep my interest or if I'm not having fun at least 90% of the time ,I'm moving on. Time to clear the mental clutter and just do what makes me feel good.

EDIT: Grats on the 100% OoT - I bet trophies/achievements drive you nuts. I used to be a trophy whore. I was wasting so much time trying to earn them all, but I realized I was ruining the fun, so I just stopped even looking. Now when they pop up it's like a nice little attaboy. I am so glad Nintendo has yet to jump on that trend.

Makes sense, Shaj -- the 3 MPs I own all came in bot mode!

Hopefully KO Megz gets ya comfy with how to transform him. The last MP-caliber I attempted was my DX9 Galvatron-- he was so tight in parts that I've only done it thrice.

Perhaps this why I lean more towards CHUGs -- my heart won't break (as much) if I break an arm or leg (not that I ever have - jus sayin). But there are some MPs so godly I had to own...if only there were MPs for Beast Wars. :saint: :-$ :-P

Motto: "A man who wants nothing is invincible."
So I bought a KO MP-36, the "Magten" I mentioned earlier. I don't even know if it's shipped yet, and I kinda have buyers remorse. I did actually ho and hum over it for over a week, and the bugger sold out of TFdirect. It was actually pretty hard to find it elsewhere, and I think I bought it more out of panic than anything else.

It just feels like... I'm far more interested in clearing up debt and saving money than buying toys. And I'm almost mad at myself for spending it on anything but. Don't get me wrong though, there are some pieces that I'm SUPER looking forward to, like LGEX Grand Max and Greatshot.

Also, it seems like I'm talking about my life/debt/money/goals thing too much, so sorry if it's a downer
