Did all the plans, got prototypes made and then when finished igear started mass making them

i know afew other guys who did some stuff for igear. To be honest if chad just spoke to igear and gave a fully finished version with no flaws then igear would pay him a fair price for it and the rights and then mass release it for us all. Would save his reputation and save his collection from being sold

If anything chad needs to read this but i dont think hes even on these boards. I know hes a 2005 member but im not registered on that site

What Ratchet and Ironhide are you referring to? Are you referring to the two that are slated to be released soon, but have not been released yet? And I don't understand your point. What did your friend think iGear was going to do with the prototype that your friend made for them? Put it on display and not mass produce it?

I talked to Chad on the boards before Slag-A-Con existed and during and after and will continue to.

He is a good guy and don't think he hasn't put an absolute ton of his own time and money into Slag A Con, because he has.

I hope this all gets resolved, because Chad is a good dude and I want to see Slag A Con continue and I know I will be there in 12 just like I was in 10 an 11.

no stormrider ur missing what im getting at, the guy who i know who made igears ratchet and ironhide that will be released soon enough did the prototype himself after hours of work doing the plans on the computer and getting various prototypes done

Igear paid him to make the ratchet and ironhide as they saw other stuff he was capable of doing

what im getting at is that if chad gives igear a call and says he has this figure and if they would be interested in making it - then they will make it if they can see profit in it. Even if chad needs to work on it some more he could get the figure made by igear and they would pay him for the rights/prototypes/plans and designs for it which should save him from having to sell his collection

I confess that I'm ashamed I posted my earlier comment without first reading the whole article. My apologies for the rather harsh nature of it. I can't imagine the pressure that is now on Mr. Chad's shoulders, and I can respect the actions he is now taking. I'd love to go to Slagacon but it's not realistic for me this year.

If I may push my luck, why does everyone assume the designer of Vector Zeta is a con-artist? Reading through the comments no one seems to know who he is, so why judge so harshly? All Slagacon has said is there's been no communication. Maybe the designer was just some guy who got all excited because a big Transformers convention wanted his figure as their exclusive. Maybe he started to have ambitions of being ranked amongst the 3rd party greats and got a bit carried away. He perhaps realised he'd bitten off more than he could chew and got scared and ran, afraid of the results of owning up and saying he couldn't fulfil the orders.

I'm not saying that's definately the case or that such actions are acceptable. I'm simply pointing out that the guy wasn't necessarily planning on screwing everyone over from the start. It's easy to villainize those we don't know.

You know, that may be the case. Mr. Nice Guy Chad, won't expose the "manufacturer" who is somewhat well known in the TF collecting community as a customizer I believe. I don't know who it is, but Chad has posted some emails from the guy and the year long run around this guy is given Slagacon. I've personally asked who this guy is and never heard a response. I figured some fan pressure would help grease the wheels (I didn't even order this set but the issue has me irate, as a convention goer, a collector and a customizer). Alas, this scoundrel maintains anonymity, and Chad, CEO and Founder of Slagacon, continues to respond to this issue with dignity and responsibility.

if you mean KIDBASH who made the roadbuster kit for captain america then no it isnt him who was making these. I asked him personally when the idea was first shown up and he said no way would he take on somert like that as the roadbuster kit was difficult enough

Then again i never trusted kidbash, paid him for the roadbuster kit and never recived it, said he sent out a replacement twice yet those also never arrived. Had to make a paypal claim in the end

Kitbasher as in a person who kitbashes, which is the act of customising figures.
you know, like our Kitbash forum.

I think he means a user called "Kidbash" not someone who kitbashes. And the only garage made Roadbuster set I know of was the one by Natobot and it was awesome. The only thing failing about that Roadbuster was the Deluxe size of the base figure. Hasbro's repaint department fail, not upgrade fail. I did order a Roadbuster head that was designed for the Cap Hummer but that was off of Shapeways. I was going to use it on U2.0 Onslaught and just never finished it.

I believe Kristen is his wife, she helps to run the convention...she usually is at the door taking your money

as for the customizer, TPANG might be the name...or something like that. Whatever reasons he has its no secret he bit off more than he could chew but instead of accepting that and returning the money, he strung Chad and everyone else along. And that deserves no respect.

Yea, since you revealed his name, yes it's him, though he spells himself TGping.

again its NOT kidbash/aka tping who was trying to mass release the figure

he was working with chad to help make the prototype originally

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/tutorials ... ocess.html

the person who screwed chad over was someone else/some other factory or what have you

No, the thing was being made and produced by them, and based on this they actually made a few casts of the kit:
http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons- ... ost6604638

Also, if you cyberstalk the guy or click my google link, you'll notice that he stopped communication with anyone a few months ago, around the time we last heard of this kit.
Adding to that, but the guy who was supposedly helping TGping with casting it, this yourreflection guy, has a site, which is now offline.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/kidbash/1 ... 022?ref=ts
And as you can see his facebook is dead too.

So yea, these guys "produced" the kit, they both stopped communicating at around the same time so yes these guys are the ones who ripped Chad off.

For anyone interested in making a donation in support of Chad Williams, Founder and CEO of Slagaconcan send those gifts to registration@slagacon.comvia PayPal.com. Chad informed me directly that any charity would better benefit the fans by supporting Slagacon. Anyone who donates will be listed as a supporter in the front cover of the Slagacon Comic book. Chad also added:

Chad wrote:. I have been watching the boards closely and am deeply moved by all the people backing Slagacon as they have.

No, charaty as in donating money. Not to a charaty organisation but as an act of charaty.

No idea, he just says that the donations should go towards Slagacon, maybe they will be used to payback the pre-orders and maybe not.

Im almost certain it will be used to pay back the pre-orders. Thats why the collection is being sold so I dont see why this would be any different.

its different depending on your beliefs

im deeply against charities as they just DONT work. Its like that old saying -give a man a fish and he can eat for 1 day, TEACH him how to fish and he can feed himself for many many years -

i would only give my money to chad if i KNEW 100% this would be helping him outa the crap hes gotten into. I would be furious if he used the money for something stupid like helping drug addicts/homeless people ect

chad needs to say what the money would go to - either him paying off the pre-orders or helping him outa having to sell his collection

the thing i really dont understand is if it was Kidbash+Tping who took all of chads money from the pre-orders then why the hell isnt this a court thing? Im sure as **** this is a no-brainer for a court issue -Hey you took money and basically ran off with it ... RETURN IT OR JAIL -

i dont understand why chad hasnt gotten the money back from kidbash+Tping if he did indeed send them the money for producing these things. It was ment to be a garage job not a factory job and also since they didnt make many of them then clearly they must have the money still and unless chads a complete idiot im pretty sure as hell he MUST have there address.....

so how come chads got everything thrown on his shoulders when a simple court case could settle this within 1 afternoon
