Before that, I worked in a drywall warehouse building orders and forklifting, and before that i worked pretty much from 14-21 in restaurants.

I'd call you a chemical engineer.

That's nice, but very inaccurate. Engineers go to school. I've had none. :-(

How do lift those heavy boxes, and buckets of chemicals? What if you're not strong enough?

I suppose what would happen at any job if you couldn't perform it?

Also sorry DG, but this isn't an endless Q&A thread. Sooooo... who else has jobs? Anyone?

I tried working at Ralph's supermarket and I quit after two days. It was too hard unloading and loading all those boxes off and on the pallet. Plus having to rip all those boxes and crush them. Cleaning, sweeping and mopping was difficult.

I got hired at the Coffee Bean. I quit after two days because I could not remember how to make all those drinks. They don't have it written down. You have to remember how to do it in your head.

I've been working at a 7-Eleven for about a year now. Mainly I do the overnight shift because I hate having to talk to people during the day.

I studied illustration as my major, but I have kinda fallen out of practice. Have been meaning to get back into it.

There's a cereal for that.

Try some and see if it helps.

I get bullied wherever I've worked. And it's usually by someone who is normally passive, like an artist or Buddhist. Many times it's been a female.

Taking it that seriously only makes it worse. You have to be able to laugh at sexism, racism, and whatnot. Otherwise, you let that attitude win. You give it all the power.

You can't walk through life on your tippy toes, desperately afraid of offending people. If you do, you might as well move back home and lock yourself in the basement.

Taking sexism seriously doesn't make it worse. It just makes you look like a jerk in retrospect.

Fear is not at play here. Sensitivity and awareness, however, is.

Yes, the happily married man, raised by a single mother for most of my childhood, is a sexist jerk. Trust me, telling people "don't say this and don't do that" only makes the problem worse. You need to learn to laugh at life, or it will destroy you.

I said it makes you look like a jerk. I don't know you, or how you were raised, or what your life situation is. And that's half the point - it doesn't matter. The internet is largely anonymous, and falling back on your life story after the fact doesn't make it OK.

Well, maybe a better turn of phrase is every subject is okay to laugh at. I admit, there are some limits.

It's not a matter of deciding. It's a matter of self & social awareness.

Of course there are limits. If you have to justify it after the fact, then maybe you shouldn't be making the joke in the first place.
