Starscream whos it gonna be .... not Chris Latta (RIP)

Postby OBLIVION » Thu May 24, 2007 6:34 pm

As a huge diehard TFG1 fan , Chris Latta AKA Starscream,Cobra Commander one of the most recognisable voices ever to grace the wonderful world of animation(apart from Peter Cullen) in my opinion, is a great and irreplaceable talent , so I ask you this fellow Seibertronians ..... Who do you think is going to be cast as the "old Screamer" in the new movie .
I know That there is a possibility of Hugo Weaving voicing Megatron (unfortunately)(Bring back Frank Welker!!), but I feel they need to get as close as possible to the original voice portrayal for the part, but unfortunately I believe this is going to be a very hard thing to do and sadly as things tend to "change" for some unexpected reasons I think a lot of the original G1 interaction/humour will be lost between Megs and Screamer however hard they try to pull it off .(this is my own opinion)
I am however still looking forward to the movie and will not judge it fully until it has been released unlike a lot of people .
Can you think of any other voices that Chris Latta has performed in the past ,the only ones i can remember are obvious ones :

Starscream
Cobra Commander
Gung Ho
and a couple of voices in Visionaries.
I look forward to testing your memories to see what you can remember !!!lol and your thoughts on the new voice of StarScream .......

and remember " Metal is Metal , cross me whoever you are and I will rip out your Optics!!" :CON: :CON:

Well, Weaving has already been confirmed as playing Megatron, so there's really no "chance" to that. I think Welker could pull off a great Screamer, though.

I have to say, I would love to see Michael Dobson who played Starscream in the Unicron trilogy play Starscream. I loved his voice and have to admit, he is my favorite Starscream.

Possibly. My older brother thinks Steve Buchemy(sp?) would be a good choice. :P

Ugh. No way.

If anyone, Frank Welker. he worked with the best (Latta), and has the voice talent.

I would prefer welker to do Starscream. I do not like Dobson very much.

I think one of the singers from Twisted Sister could do Starscream..at times in the song the voice is 99% spot on. And he wasn't even trying. Or that guy who does SpongeBob. In the hotsauce episode he sounded just like Cobra Commander, so I'm sure he could do a Starscream voice.

I have the voice somewhat too, but it's not 'masculine' and I can't go that high-pitched.

But I don't think a Latta-type voice would fit that Starscream. He's too ugly.
