Um, isn't $15-$17 what Titans Return deluxes went for? How is Hasbro hiking up the prices? I'm pretty sure MSRP has remained the same for PotP as it was for TR. Stores may have increased their prices slightly over time, but that isn't Hasbro.

Also, Blackwing being single packed in the case isn't likely to shelfwarm that much, at least not in this wave. Possibly in wave 4 when he is re-packed, and out around the lead up to Christmas. This is when you'll want to look for a deal. And clearance usually doesn't happen until the end of the line, so again wave 4 around Christmas or just after like Titans Return did earlier this year. The 17 Blurrs and Scourges that were shelfwarming my local Walmart for 9 months didn't get clearanced until PotP was out in stores.

Agreed. The only time I've found PotP wave 2 in stores, all of the figures were still in stock, EXCEPT Blackwing and Moonracer. Rippersnapper seems to be the shelfwarmer.
Titans Return Deluxes were also $16.99 at my local Target. Walmart had them for around $15, and still does, so I don't think there's been any sort of price jump.
And my experience with getting Transformers on clearance is basically non-existent. If a figure's popular and rare enough, it's never gonna be found on sale. Take TR Perceptor for example. I saw his wave once in stores, and waited to get him, hoping for a sale at some point. Eventually someone bought him and I never saw that wave resurface again.

Most people never saw more than wave 1 and some very late wave 2. As far as I know, only like 3 people in the US ever saw wave 3, and Cogman was never seen at retail here

Frankly, I thought so too, but as it turns out, we were never given an MSRP for those.

The first time we were given a pice lately was with the TLK deluxes which were indeed 19.99

In my neck of the woods TR's ranged from $14.99 to $15 and change at retail. Even the first wave of PotP's were 14.99 with 25% off back in November. But if you wanna pat Hasbro on the back for charging $17.00 for Dlx Dinobots that look like little baked potatoes with legs then go ahead.

That's NOT going to dismiss the scale and quality issue's accompanying the price hike (In My Area) that bothers me and many others...

I actually found a Toys R Us express near me that had a bunch of wave 3 Deluxes (only place so far). However, there wasn't a single Bumblebee among them. This seems to be a common trend, because Bee was the first to sell out (and not get restocked) on Amazon. Was he shortpacked in the case?

Hasbro's marketing team? Where the hell is that even coming from. I'm just pointing out what you are blaming Hasbro for, is more likely the retailers pricing decisions.

So, lets see. You are trying to compare a sale price and discount from November, when toys are marked down for the Christmas rush toward a regular non-sale price in March, and insisting is must be Hasbro raising prices. Um, okay, whatever feeds your rage man.

In any case, if you are deal hunting, then November/December is your best bet, been that way for years. There will be some smaller deals right now leading up to Easter, but the best time for deals is November/December for a current line, or the start of a new line for clearance on the previous line.

Anybody else getting the Wave 2 POTP deluxes from Amazon and having them shipped in padded mailers? Rippersanpper had a frayed card but was otherwiser ok. Moonracer was 100% ok.

I only ordered the 2 dinobots and it came in a box. No issues.

Yep same order. I don't think there are smaller boxes so if I only ordered 1, it probably would've came in the padded yellow envelope.

I've never ordered any item from Amazon proper that came in an envelope. Even a single dvd, always came in a small box with padding. If it came as you stated it would have been from a 3rd party seller

I have had several items from amazon come to me in a yellow padded envelope. Especially books.

I think it may depend on the DC it comes from or maybe the individual packaging the order. I most often remember having my orders arrive in a box, but the condition of the card can vary. Sometimes a figure will come to me with the card/ box in pristine condition & other times it will look like they sat on the figure while they were taping one side of the box together.

Amazon has the POTP Wave 2 Deluxes back in stock. Rippersnapper & Sludge are available for purchase at the price of $16.99. Blackwing & Snarl are also $16.99 showing an in stock date of March 24. The one catch is it doesn't look like Moonracer is on sale right now.

FYI - It isn't really a case of on sale, versus not on sale. Amazon's regular price for the PotP deluxes is $16.99. The ones that are showing up higher, are sold by other sellers, which means that Amazon itself is out of stock. That is why the price seems to fluctuate so much. When Amazon gets some in stock, the listing will default to Amazon as the seller at their price. As soon as they are out of stock, it will usually default to whatever other seller has the lowest price.
