Well, I did helped until I got the wrong opinion. ;)

Anyway, I too, was calling CC SS86 OP a "mini MP", but there's just one thing that I nitpick at so that I cannot call it a "mini MP".
The headlights of the truck are way too visible in bot mode. They stick out from the back like a sore thumb and are clearly visible from the front. It's not as "in-your-face" like the truck's front wheels of the ER mold, but I still find this annoying.
I'll be waiting for an upgrade kit to fix it. Preferably a DNA Design one.

The Reprolabels are also out for him. I bought the cel-shaded windows and the cartoon trailer stripes for maximum cartoon accuracy. I skip the toy deco stickers. I love the fact that Toyhax give you the options by selling all the parts separately.

Evan doesn't, but designer Tomo Tatsumi refers to it as an "easy to play Masterpiece" which is probably the best description there is. He transforms him in 3 minutes.

Mine finally arrived.

I do have a couple minor issues, but overall he’s excellent.

Anybody else having issues with the panels with gas tanks not really tabbing in. The slots in his thighs seem too shallow, and the pegs on the red sections don’t seem to really reach the slots in his arms.

also his left leg panel, does not seem t o want to tab in in robot mode.

Ohh, and uh.. yes, his heels are mis-assembled.

I know there's no way to know how accurate the blue-ish color is in the photos that have been seen, but it already appears that the new color for SS86 Galvatron is a major improvement from the original red-violet color imo. I'm hoping it is more of a blue-violet in-person and that it isn't too close to Scourge or Sweep. But either way I'm getting this new version.

Also, no matter what we get for the reveal on the 27th, I'm very confident the Constructicons and Devastator are going to deliver as much if not more than the Legacy Stunticons and Menasor.

It does look more blue, I like it so I hope it's true. Also really loving the solid canon and lack of silver paint on the face. Didn't think they could do anything to make be buy this mold a 5th time, but I'm sold.

Should be an easy win since unlike the other combiners on the cartoon Devastator wont need a frame to look accurate.

I can’t believe I forgot to mention the non-metallic paint on the face of this new Galvatron…. I don’t mind if the paint is glossy, but the highly reflection metallic silver doesn’t look good on any figure imo. Unfortunately this is even my thought for the Dinobots. The non-metallic, light gray is a relatively small but important upgrade for me. At the same time, the face is a pretty important part of any figure/character.
Also, I just saw more photos of SS86 Galvatron online; the new color looks even more violet in these shots. Which may not be accurate, but either way, everything I’m seeing so far has me really appreciative that we’re getting a non-raspberry colored version of this character.

After getting Kingdom Galvatron I'll sit it out until/if they finally do a new one ground up for SS86, or a more Movie accurate version. I'm not playing this game anymore, of buying the next closest version. Looking at you Blaster/Eject as the most recent infraction...

As for Devastator, after the breakdown issue with Stunticons, I'm honestly not eager to try this again. I don't want the same crap to happen even if they're "trying" to address distribution. We all know Hasbro doesn't control that aspect. This game is anotehr I tire of.

That aside, what's left for SS86 that hasn't been done now? I mean if they're doing all new Constructicons can we expect a new Astrotrain fairly soon? I think he's my final want for an overhaul aside from Soundwave. But with the recent Leader I can wait on him for a spell.

I'm just curious do they stick with SS86 for a while longer 2-3 years or change it up to SS87 and start getting some late S3 and S4 stuff out?

I may wait on SS86 Galvatron to see if he goes on sale…. Which is a little risky, but there are going to some like you that pass on this one.

I’m hoping it helps that the Constructicons are being released within a shorter timeframe of one another. But who knows…. This is a situation where I’ll get my preorders in asap.

Your question about the SS86 line continuing is one I brought up a while ago…. My wild prediction is that the deluxe figures: Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, and Arcee all get upgraded to voyager class/scale.
Definitely may not happen. But past that, a new Soundwave is my best guess. Possibly an Astrotrain, but one of the designers already said that would be just a re-release with slightly altered deco.
Realistically, I think we could get something like movie-deco Insecticons. Which will be a letdown for sure. But as you’re saying/asking, what’s left?
Oh, I guess probably a new Cliffjumper from the SS86 Bee mold…. Other than that, I’m outta ideas.

With this, I’m predicting there will be something in 2026 to help “celebrate” the 40th anniversary of the movie. And that will be the finale of this subline.

There's still plenty they could do.

Arbulus and Kranix. Dead Widncharger, Wheeljack, and Starscream. Prototype Arcee and Ultra Magnus (Delta Magnus). The Quintesson Prosecutor. I guess you could say Windcharger and Cliffjumper. Daniel (Spike with a slightly different head).

A new Astrotrain would be okay. Siege wasn't great.

A re-release of Amazon Unicron (not everyone can get a Haslab), Rodimus, and Hot Rod with Magenta. A bare-bones Shockwave or even one that's a space gun again. They could complete the reformatting set with Cyclonus, Scourge, Megatron, the Insecticons, Skywarp, and Thundercracker. All those same deceptions, but with battle damage.

More Junkions, unless they're totally burnt out. Personally I like the look of the one with the wheel in the chest.

Well all that sounds a bit on the boring side for me as I have them all, or passed. I've got no use for Voyager version of past DLX figures. IMO Hot Rod is pinnacle, Kup or Blurr isn't intriguing enough for me to buy again or at a higher price point. I wouldn't mind another go at a better done Arcee, but I don't see $35 of worth there unless they include Danial minifig(non armored), and possibly with hoverboard accessory.

I'm fine with Cliffjumper I have, the alt mode on SS86 Bee is horrendous. IMO
Shame about Astrotrain though, definitely needs a new mold. And I'm not paying $55 for that current hunk of bleh.

I could probably go for a Kranix, I like those old Cybertron bots. Outside of that I'd likely get Tailgate and Windcharger but those likely are Legacy releases?

I also would like to see a Cassette multipack of some kind because it's irritating having to keep buying a Voyager or Leader to get one new one each time.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting anything I said is ideal... Let alone exciting.
In fact, I don't think anything that's been mentioned, even though they may indeed be options, is great. Maybe not "boring", but nothing that seems worthy of being part of a "celebratory" group or subline of figures.
This is exactly why a while ago I said I was so surprised that we're getting SS86 Megatron and Devastator next year. Not disappointed, but surprised. Hell, CC Optimus would've been a solid release for 2026.

I've never liked the idea of "dead" figures, and dead Windcharger and Wheeljack will be just as easy to pass on as the others. I don't mind the idea of reformatting figures, but those are still very limited, and I'm not sure I'd go for those either.

Part of the reason I would like to see those SS86 deluxe figures upgraded to voyager class/scale is because they're too small compared to Ultra Magnus, Springer, and now SS86 Prime. I mean Arcee was always way too small. She's larger than most people think. Look at the scenes in the movie where she's with Springer... Springer is supposed to be very close to the same size as Optimus Prime. So Arcee should be larger than Ironhide.
Anyway, with this up-sizing, at least those wouldn't be just straight redecos. Plus then they could get Kup and Blurr's faces right.
And Hot Rod could get a more magenta color.
As much as I love the Kingdom Cyclonus mold, that could stand to be updated; he should be taller than Galvatron.

I also would've liked cassette multipacks... I'm pretty annoyed that to get Ratbat I'm going to have to get Ramhorn and another Perceptor.
For me, that's pretty poor form on the part of Hastak. It's already difficult to defend them with moves like SS86 Blaster and this Galvatron (as well as other later redecos like Buzzworthy Kup and Cliffjumper).

I borderline hated the look of Siege Astrotrain, which is why I never got him. But I've caved for the Takara Triple Threat 3-pack, just because I'd like to have a mainline Astrotrain, and there seems to be no plans for a new mold or even a SS86 version anytime soon. I also think Blitzy looks better. And I'll sell the Coronation Starscream.

But I've reached the point in the my collection where I have almost everything I ever wanted in terms of updated figures of characters I like...
Rebuying redecos of figures I already have is one of a few reasons I'm bowing-out from collecting sooner than later. Which is the same reason that it's somewhat tolerable; I'm not playing this game too much longer.
I am hoping that 2026 brings a SS86 Soundwave. But either way, that November I'll be 50, and no matter what I've bought, or what never came to fruition, at the end of that year I'm retiring.

Hot Rod already is/was a Voyager Class release, but I do agree that an actually-magenta version of him is probably inevitable as an exclusive at some point, especially considering how quickly we're seeing color-corrected Galvatron.

Honestly, out of all the possible toys that haven't been announced, I really want Windcharger, Arbulus, Kranix, and the Quint prosecutor. I wouldn't mind replacing all of my Impossible Toys Quintessons with Hasbro versions, even if they aren't major characters (so I guess that leaves the executioner because they did the bailiff already).

I'd probably take any Quintesson, really. The bad part is that they don't really transform. So I dunno what they could do.

I know that as collectors, when the toys are on display, numbering dosent really mean anything. But I guess i'm just a little disappointed as it was kind of fun to see the numbers progress, and you could "sort of" see how many toys are in this line, although TT seems to be doing slightly better just giving everything a basic number (except for 72 which they skipped??), but now Hasbro it seems just really doesn't care, or doesn't wish to go back and fix their errors. Oh well.

Junkion Scrapheap and Buzzworthy Bumblebee Ironhide both use the 86-24 number. Optimus Prime and Galvatron also share the number 86-31. Now that Hatchet has finally released 2 years after the original figure’s cancellation, he has the number 117, causing the toyline to skip over 94. However, his instructions have the number 94 on it, making Hatchet both 94 and 117
:HEADHURTS:

You just have to take the latest release (say 117 currently), and compensate for all that garbage above, then add in all the SS6 releases, all the Video Game releases, and all the core class that have no numbers 8-}

As for SS86, I would guess their goal is to end by the end of 2026 for the films 40th anniversary. Here are the characters from TFTM that haven't had a toy yet officially announced:

Rodimus Prime (Likely will be a Kingdom repaint, Im betting will be the CC for 2026)
Wheeljack (from ER)
Grapple (from ER)
Huffer (from Kingdom)
Sunstreaker ( from the recently released 5-pack)
Hound (from the recently released 5-pack)
Cyclonus (Kingdom)
Soundwave (supposedly the team wants to do an "all new" SW...???)
Astrotrain (Siege...possibly a heavy retool, or the fans are going to hate this)
Shockwave (Siege, should be a voyager though if you take out all the extra bits)
Dirge (ER)
Thrust (ER)
Ramjet (ER)
Ravage (ER)
Laserbeak (ER)
Ratbat (Siege)
Skywarp (ER)
Thundercraker (ER)
Quintesson Judge (ER)
Quintesson Prosecutor (BC2022)
Quintesson Baliff (BC2022)
Allicon (BC2022)
Kranix (BC2022)
Blitzwing (Legacy)
Rewind (Kingdom)
Gears (Legacy United)
Bluestreak (ER)
All 3 Insecticons (Legacy)

The following have had no modern toy at all:
Ramhorn (possible SS86 Steeljaw Retool)
Windcharger
Quintesson Executioner
Arblus (Kranix retool from Pit of Judgement)

I don't know if it's what you're referencing, but Nick from marketing did say they were going to avoid the same issue they had with Breakdown with Devastator. It wasn't so much a distribution issue as him being short packed and not being released again later. Then never should have stuck him in a different series from the other four members, that made no sense. What I'm concerned about is Scavenger and Mixmaster being line enders in wave 4. I'm sure they'll have more to say next Sunday with the reveal.

Hot Rod already is/was a Voyager Class release, but I do agree that an actually-magenta version of him is probably inevitable as an exclusive at some point, especially considering how quickly we're seeing color-corrected Galvatron.

He was supposed to be magenta to begin with until a higher up squashed that plan. Between that and the toy colors figure getting cancelled things haven't gone so great for Hot Rod. Hopefully the G1 figure getting a magenta deco recently means they're more receptive to doing him those colors at some point. We've gotten so many random decos for Grimlock, one magenta Hot Rod shouldn't be so hard to get!

I'm positive it's just an optical illusion caused by the different types of paint. Compared to the new stock photo they look identical.

The lips look different, the cheeks look wider, and the central helmet spike looks shorter.

That picture is just compressed funny. Compare to the Selects version.

I obviously know SS86 Hot Rod is a voyager class figure.
That's why I specifically said voyager size/scale.
The average voyager figure is the size of a seeker, despite whatever anyone wants to say about engineering and budget.
And the main point is that all of those characters I listed should be larger. The engineering already exists; this would just be a matter of more plastic. I'd buy all 4 of those again. And they could make Hot Rod's main color magenta, and fix Kup and Blurr's face sculpts.

The vast majority of characters who haven't been put into SS86 packaging already have a good enough release, and don't need another, even if the deco were to be slightly altered.
Any that haven't been made yet at all in any line maybe should be in SS86, but someone like Windcharger should just be part of the mainline.

Ramhorn and Ratbat are being released this next year in SS86. I believe that's a Target exclusive pack that also includes Perceptor. I understand they were all in that movie scene together, but this is still an odd multipack just because getting Perceptor again seems pointless.
Which goes back to my point that most characters who have a good figure already don't need to be re-released in SS86 packaging.

This also has me thinking that a re-release of Rodimus would be a waste of the CC slot for 2026... I don't care if the CC figure for that year isn't '86 movie or G1-related. If they want to re-release Rodimus, make him a Selects exclusive.

And the comparison shots of Galvatron completely confirm my belief that figures should never have metallic silver painted faces... Highlights and shadows get over emphasized and just don't look good.
It's similar to light piping. In theory it's cool. But without the right lighting from the right angle, the figure's eyes are dark and basically dead.

Well my main argument against Commander Prime was that now means all others are now out of scale. lol
UM was okay as more of a larger bulkier character anyway.

Both Sunstreaker and Hound are solid candidates for reissue as they are both needed outside Exclusivity, plus the fact sunny was due for reissue. That said, is he really going to be that sought after for a third time? Hound definitely. Thrust also fits this criteria.

No interest in the current Ravage, I want a complete redo on par with the new Rumble/Frenzy. In fact I want all the cassettes to get updated, outside of Laserbeak, Buzzsaw and Ratbat, those are fine for what what they are. I was extremely dissatisfied with Steeljaw so much that if Ramhorn follows the same cheap path I'll totally pass on that set as well!

And after having the new Rumble I've no more interest in Rewind/Eject molds. As for the rest of that list of repacks/repaint I can totally pass.

Yeah, the new OP is significantly taller than the rest. And I get that the backpack and fake parts can be a turn off.

For me, though. 86 is the last word on G1 style Primes. I love the guy. He's finally displaced Henkei Prime as my main Prime. I like Henkei's rich colors and the clear windows, but man ... 86 Prime looks like he leaped off the screen.

Plus, ER Prime has those poor plastic colors that were an eyesore right out of the gate. I got him anyway, no regrets, but just looking at him I knew we'd get better. And we did. Twice over. If it isn't this guy then get Dramatic Capture because he's ER perfected.

He's as tall as my old 3P Hegemon figure. Unfortunately the sculpting on Heg just doesn't match this one at all. Maybe if 3P makes a complete Gun Megs as tall as Prime I'll bite.

I'm curious to see their take on Megatron. Didn't bother with ER. I had it in my hands and thought it was so bad I put it right back.
