Blackout gave Incinerator orders to take out the humans he had seen as he scanned the area for other fleshy things. He detected a few more to the west and one a little to the South that he could quickly reach.

>>"Decepticons, there are a few targets to the west of my position."<< He let the others know over the comms just as Incinerator burst out of the ground in front of the humans, sending the flesh creatures diving for cover.

Incinerator wasted no time 'stinging' the humans... Shoving his tail blades through their chests, disposing of them near silently.

As for Blackout, it didn't take him long to close in on the human to the South, quickly taking him out with his laser cannon.

(Edit: I typed west when I meant north, so changed the north to west)

Brakeneck was fairly confident that these fleshlings were going to be easy to take care of. He started brainstorming ways of eliminating them - crushed under his giant tires, stomped on, hacked away at with his axe, the possibilities just captivated him. He’d always wondered what their texture was like.

Stepping foot into the complex, Brakeneck finally folded himself into his large alt mode. Man, what a relief. That shuttle was cramped as frag. He revved his engine and squeezed himself out of the hangar that they had landed in. Although there wasn’t much of interest, there were a few, small Earth vehicles lying about, though they seemed to be much more primitive in nature. Let’s give these bad boys a good taste of rubber.

The cars crushed like aluminum foil underneath his massive wheels. The sound of glass shattering from the windshield tugged at Brakeneck’s spark. He loved that sound. When he was done rolling over the car, he halted, transformed and turned around to look at the row of flattened vehicles. He grinned underneath his faceplate, a menacing look in his optics.

Unfortunately, it seemed that he had been beat to the punch, as he couldn’t find any fleshlings in his area. Comms from others came in. Darn, they all got all the best ones. Figuring that there was nothing else to be done around here, he started heading back. >>”Nothing of interest in the western sector. I’m comin’ back.”<<

As the Vehicons completed their physical installation of the rudimentary equipment that Megatron had requisitioned and sent the signals to Soundwave for fine-tuning, the Slagmaker opened a channel directly to Soundwave.

>>"Have our facsimile contact and his entourage here within five breems,"<< Megatron transmitted.

The silver warrior then turned and shifted his focus. A few meters away from where the Decepticon leader stood, a holomatter avatar began to generate. It was a human male in approximately its fifth decade of life with silvered hair, a nondescript military uniform with American regalia and an overcoat that was similarly decorated.

Megatron had no intention of interacting with these flesh creatures directly, at least for the time being. This would do nicely.

Redwing remained quiet for a few astroseconds as he watched Amethyst. She never ceased to amaze him in both her kindness and ruthlessness. It was a unique trait among their forces, at least that he’d noticed thus far. Sure, there were cliques, but she was a mech close to his spark and that helped him to deal with the warring thoughts in his processor.

Turning, he focused his scans on another section, but only a couple of smaller biological showed. He didn’t want to waste his time killing what amounted to pests on this world. Mainly because he didn’t want to appear weak in Amethyst’s optics. Not on a mission.

Steeling himself for what was to come, he started heading toward the scans as he extended his range to the next building, and then the next.

Nothing. Not even a blip/ He paused as he wondered if that was a good thing. It wasn’t that this was a complicated assignment or anything, but if he failed to tally any fleshlings, how would that make him appear to his comrades.

He forced those doubts aside. He could do this. He had to do this. There simply wasn’t any choice. Besides, they were just fleshlings; surely he was doing the cosmos a favor in aiding in their eradication.

A fast moving blip caught his attention as his sensors locked onto it. It was a fleshling in one of their vehicles. It was moving faster than he imagined a routine patrol would, which meant he it was probably a civilian.

Great. Just great. Not even a military target.

He knew that shouldn’t concern him, but it did. Not everything was a threat to them, but even he was glitchy enough to say that to Megatron of Flamewar. He did have some common sense, though he doubted most cared. Still, he didn’t want any witnesses to the act, so without a word to Amethyst — which he hoped he wouldn’t regret — he headed toward the fleshling, taking a diagonal route as best he could to cut it off.

He tried not to rush and make too much noise given their orders, but sometimes things like that were impossible. Especially given the reports coming in from other sections tallying their successes.

It was an odd thing as he stopped at the edge of a warehouse to wait for the fleshling to come to him. Four point five astroseconds, he thought as he readied to step out in front of it. Part of him wondered what he’d done in a previous activation cycle to deserve this, but the better Decepticon-programmed part silenced it. Time to worry about those implications later.

Time to impress the femme. He shook his head at that, swearing never to utter it to Amethyst or any other mech for as long as he functions, and stepped out as the vehicle drew closer.

The human screamed, slammed on his breaks, and swerved into the warehouse wall. The impact sent him over the folded down window of the jeep and head first into the building.

Despite his lack of knowledge of human anatomy, he could tell the human was deactivated.

Pleased that he hadn’t had to take part directly, he opened a comm to Amethyst, >>Got one without firing a shot or getting their fluids on me.

Strangely, he felt a surge of relief at his action. If only more problems took care of themselves.

Dessicater had made a decision that humans were a disease that needed eradicating for the simple reason one had thought it wise to stroke him.

Like I’m some Earth bound pet! His growing anger only fueled his desire to burn these creatures out of existence. Oh, how he itched to transform and start lobbing shells into the area around them. Leave nothing but ash, it’s what they deserve, he thought as Blackout’s transmission came through.

Blackout wrote:>>"Decepticons, there are a few targets to the west of my position."<<

So, we have a spotter. Without thinking, he transformed and turned his turret to the west. His scanners were already active as he searched for the humans. Unfortunately, his system was designed to pick up such small things as organics at a distance. Cursing and grunting to himself, he almost fired a shell in frustration. Only the disapproval of Flamewar prevented him from doing so. Had she not been along as a senior officer…

He forced those thoughts away along with his urge to bombard the area out of spite.

Slowly, his energon flow slowed and his energon lust faded. Not much, but enough that he wasn’t ruled by his desire to bomb the entire area. The things I do for you, Flamewar. You had best appreciate this.

With his logic circuits debugged, he thought about transforming back, but decided against it. If he was going to have to deal with these disgusting creatures, he might as well do so in a form where he could run them over and ground them into pulp. Surprisingly, he felt a lot better as he opened a comm to Blackout.

>>Blackout, Dessicator here. I’m enroute now. I request exact coordinates if you have them, over.<<

He only made it a few meters when another message came through.

Brakeneck wrote: >>”Nothing of interest in the western sector. I’m comin’ back.”<<

Are you scrapping me? Dessicator nearly replied over the comm instead of in his processor, but he’d kept enough self-control to remain silent as he stopped and let his engine idle. At least he didn’t vocalize and give away his position. Okay, this just means the others are doing their jobs. It’s as simple as that.

It was difficult getting used to others being involved, but he was adjusting. He just hoped he did so before he blew a logic circuit and turned his guns on his comrades.

As Incinerator was returning from dispatching the humans, Blackout received the message from Dessicater requesting coordinates, he quickly transmatted the coordinates to him.

Within a moment later, Brakeneck's message came through, Blackout cursed the humans softly and scanned again.

He picked them up again... Just a few clicks off from the original coordinates, so he retransmitted the amended location for Dessicater.

>>"I believe they left sensor range for a moment."<< He transmitted as Incinerator reattached himself to Blackout's back. >>"They seem to be skirting in and out of near range radar."<<

--

In a seemingly uncharacteristic moment of quiet, the mouthy Feint had turned his sites to the area Blackout had indicated humans were. He transformed though, leaving his alt mode so he could root through his storage to find his night vision scope. He handed it to Reaver as he went back to sniper rifle more.
--

Without instruction, Reaver swapped out the sites for Feint.

---

Now with better vision, Feint got a visual on the humans that Blackout had seen and indeed, they we're moving slightly in and out of short sensor range. He could have taken them out, they we're within his range, but he left it. "Okay, Gruesome." He said to Reaver. "Let's get off this roof. Everything is out a bit further."

--

Reaver nodded, picked up Feint and slung him across his back and jumped off the roof. He headed east to see of anything was out that way.

Thust waited several breems, but when no response came he found himself in a difficult situation. He could continue with his orders and hunt down any more of the human infestation roaming around, or he could return with his prize.

It was a decision he didn’t want to rush, but also one he didn’t want a part of.

That’s why I ask questions, he grumbled, looking back and forth. His sensor picked up a few humans here and there, but they were farther way. If anything, this missile system seemed like an outpost of some sort.

Surely they’d miss it if he took it. But wouldn’t they also miss it when they radioed those stationed here?

Assuming, of course, that they have the technology. He didn’t like to doubt their technological know-how, but none of them had spotted him while flying here to this group would’ve been ready for him.

Maybe they were alone? There’s no sign of other around.

Oh, how he hated moments like this. These were why Flamewar and the others were officers and he was… well… a talent they didn’t appreciate?

Still, he had to resolve this, and so he decided. Eyeing the missile system, it looked like something he could carry, but that would be far more strange than seeing a jet in the air.

We are supposed to be stealthy.

So, he did what he thought was best. He grabbed a pile of chains sitting against a building and looped them through a towing bar at the back of the vehicle. With a slow, but even pull, the vehicle’s wheel rode over the wheel chocks and came along nice and easily.

I’m going to get a promotion out of this. Not even Megatron can ignore what I’ve accomplished.

~~~
Outskirts of Aleppo - Warehouse Complex
With his mind made up, Dessicator started to turn to head back to the others, chastising himself as he did so.
A stealth mission. What kind of energon was I on to think I could do something like this? A brief thought that Flamewar selected him for this to embarrass him came to processor, but he quickly dismissed it. She wouldn’t do that. Not to me. The others? Sure. In an energon pump, but me?
At least that helped calm him some, though he still thought this was a waste of his time.
A sudden communication with coordinates appeared in his receptors and on the viewscreen inside his tank form.
Incinerator wrote:>>"I believe they left sensor range for a moment."<<
“Well, scrap…” Dessicator’s voice trailed off as he stopped right where he was, debating if he owed anyone an apology or energon for this.
It only took half an astrosecond to decide Brakeneck didn’t need an apology since Dessicator hadn’t told him what he’d been thinking. But Incinerator, oh that mech had a tankard coming.
Opening a channel to Incinerator, he said, >>Tank you very much. I’m heading there now.<<
As he closed the channel, he surprised himself by already routing the coordinates into his targeting computer and his canon was moving to fire. Though it pained him to do so, he forced the desire down and deactivated his weapon. If he fired, not only would he embarrass Flamewar, but he’d embarrass Megatron as well, and that could not happen.
Cursing to himself, he plugged the coordinates into his positioning software and plotted the quickest course there. It wouldn’t take him long, but he had no qualms about it feeling like forever.
~~~

There they are. Just standing without a care in their processors.

For the first time since arriving on Earth, he took time to observe them. They didn’t appear too different than Cybertronians, if one ignored their size and being super squishy. They seemed to have a comradery all their own, just like the group he met up with before coming down here. It was something he had always wanted, but he’d never allowed it to bleed into his missions before.

Now, well, things were changing, weren’t they?

There were three of them sitting on a couple of crates and another standing in the middle of an alley talking. Judging by their uniforms and weapons, he thought they were soldiers. Probably taking an energon brake, he thought as his engine turned on and he inched forward.

They were less than twenty meters away when the one standing put something to his mouth and the end glowed bright, triggering Dessicator’s heat sensors. He paused as the human looked his way. It wasn’t hot enough to be a weapon of some kind, unless it was dangerous only to fleshies.

Still, he’d been patient long enough. “Sorry, guys. This just isn’t your lucky day.”

All four turned to face him when they heard his voice, but their faces were twisted in confusion.

Without waiting, Dessicator transformed and stepped toward them. They never had a chance to fire their weapons.

We may be doing this world a favor.

The phrase continued repeating in Thundercracker’s processor as he continued sweeping through the warehouse complex.

He ignored the open comms between his fellow Decepticons, choosing to continue with his initial plan of sweeping the immediate area. The problem was, this planet’s indigenous people were like vermin. Worse, even. The fact they apparently had no qualms about dissecting a mechanical being, even if it wasn’t yet sentient, showed the depravity they were capable of.

Imagine how they treat one another.

After a brief pause, another idea came to him.

Are we any different? Though he knew the answer, he wasn’t about to vocalize it.

Instead, he chose to turn his attention to what Skywarp had said about one of the humans killing himself to try to take out Skywarp. There wasn’t a single Cybetronian he could remember ever taking their warfare to that level unless it was a desperate act.

So, what made these humans desperate enough to kill themselves so wantonly just to take out an enemy? That was a level of… what? Loyalty? No, he didn’t think so. Devotion? Programming? He’d met more than a few mechs that had high levels of both. He was guilty of two of the three.

Fanaticism. That was the proper term. Oh, he knew more than a couple of Decepticons that fell into that category. But even they weren’t twisted enough to destroy themselves for a single target. No, these humans were a step beyond.

For the first time, he found a place of peace and acceptance in their mission there. Whatever Megatron had planned, it had to be better than what these humans would eventually do to themselves.

He hoped.

>>"Infiltration team, we're heading into the city,"<< Megatron transmitted as the facsimile confirmed its arrival outside along with a small convoy of remotely-piloted and battlle-weathered humvees.

Megatron, via his freshly-generated holomatter avatar, stepped outside of the central warehouse and climbed into one of the vehicles in the middle of the convoy.

((OOC-If you have a Decepticon down here, feel free to decide for yourself if your character is going to have a holomatter avatar and accompany Megatron deeper into the city to escalate the infiltration protocols or remain behind at the warehouse complex and continue the interactions you're already building.))

Feint made a noise so happy it put Reaver on edge. "It's time to sneak up and make squishy things explode!" He said happily. "To the warehouse, Fragging Scary One!"

---

One of these days, Reaver was going to let Feint know how he felt about these nicknames.

Until then, he begrudgingly carried the snipe rifle-moded Feint to the warehouse, spotting their leader already prepared, his holomatyer avatar already outside.

Reaver looked at the avatar, then to the warehouse, then back to the avatar. "Lord Megatron." He said respectfully, honestly unsure which to address, he decided to address both. He dropped, rather unceremoniously, Feint and went into the warehouse and stopping in front of the actual Megatron. "Lord Megatron." He repeated. "I'm afraid I have never used an avatar before." He continued as surveyed the equipment quickly.

--

"Hey!" Feint yelled at Reaver as he transformed so he could land on his feet. He also looked at Megatron's avatar. "Uh... Lord Megatron Avatar." He said with a quick bow and then chased after Reaver into the warehouse. He slid to a stop inside. "Lord Megatron." He muttered, wondering what to do now to make the holomatter avatars appear.

--

Blackout turned and began to head for the warehouse as well.

At receiving Megatron’s transmission, Thundercracker turned from his patrol and headed back toward the warehouse he detected Megatron’s signal originating from.

As he neared his destination, his thoughts turned to what he and Skywarp had discussed — jokingly, of course — about what the misfits like Thrust and Redwing would choose, and he found it interesting that he hadn’t given it much thought. Until now, he hadn’t fully decided if he wanted to be a human.

Sure, it was only a holographic facsimile, but to be so small and… squishy.

He shook the thought off. He would do it for no other reason than it was expected of him. Megatron would need intelligent warriors with him, and besides, as much as he hated to admit it, Thundercracker still didn’t fully trust their leader.

Shaking his head, he opened a comm back to Megatron as he neared the warehouse. >>Thundercracker here. Preparing to activate my avatar now.<<

He ended the transmission, then as an afterthought, sent one to Skywarp. >>Looks like it’s time to blend in. You joining us or going to babysit those that stay behind?<<

As he finished, he noticed three other mechs approaching the warehouse as well, and thanks to them, he noticed Megatron’s new form.

He quietly chastised himself for not remembering their names, then thought, I would really prefer a land-based alt form to that. How revolting

For what it was worth, he’d chosen a typical human form, so things went relatively smoothly once he entered the hanger and connected with the machine. So far, it appeared Megatron was the only one to undergo the transformation or whatever he wished to call it, and Thundercracker wasn’t sure of that was a good thing or not.

Too late to stop now, he thought as he sent an activation pulse into the machine.

A brief surge on information transferred between Thundercracker’s processor and the machine, and in seconds, his optics focused on a youthful, slim-looking human male with black hair and blue eyes that matched his actual paint color. He wore an American military dessert uniform.

The avatar Thundercracker lifted his arms as he studied them, a look of disgust crossing his features. He had to remind himself that this wasn’t real and it wasn’t permanent. His expression changed when he glanced at his true form as it towered over him.

How does anything survive being this small? Shaking his head, he headed for the warehouse door, taking in everything so he could better handle the size discrepancies.

Outside, he approached Megatron’s vehicle before taking his place in one of the leading vehicles. This was going to be an interesting experience, to say the least.

~~~
Thrust paused as Megatron’s communication came through and found himself in a quandary. He was near enough to the warehouse that he could make it easily if he wasn’t dragging the missile launcher behind him.
His processor glitched for an astrosecond as he turned from the missile launcher to the warehouse and back again. Some things were beyond his ability to make a decision over, and this was one of those. If he left the missile launcher here, Megatron would want to know what he did with it; but if he returned with it, Megatron would accuse him of wasting time and resources.
For the first time since he sent the initial message, Thrust wished he’d kept his conquest to himself. At least then, he’d be able to drop what he was doing and return post-haste without a concern over it.
After a brief debate with himself, he decided Megatron wouldn’t chastise him either way. He was too valuable to the war effort to make an example of. It wasn’t like he was Starscream or some other mech that challenged him regularly or threatened their fight against the Autobots.
No, Megatron needed him, and he would be there for his leader.
Not wanting to waste more time, he gripped the missile launcher and fired his jets, lifting him off the ground enough so he could angle toward the warehouse and pulled the launcher behind him as fast as he dared move.
I’m sure Megatron will reward me for my forward thinking. Who else will be returning with spoils that can aide us? No one, for I am the only one smart enough to think of this.
Pleased with himself, he smiled as he neared the warehouse. Images of accolades being heaped on him for his actions danced through his processor.
"Aww scrap, that's how you do it?" Feint asked feeling g a bit... silly as Thundercracker walked over and effortlessly made an avatar. "Thundercracker... you... you put me to shame, my fellow 'Con." He said as Thundercracker's avatar left the warehouse.
He hooked himself up to the machine, with a little trepidation, and let it do it's thing to create an avatar for him.
Unhooking it when he was done, Feint looked at the faux human.
He had to admit, that thing was a pretty good representation of him, for a human, though taller than he expected (but probably a bit short by human standards). It sported closely shaved blonde hair, at least on the sides and back, the top was longer, sweeping into his eyes a bit. A sturdy build with visible tattoos and intense gray eyes, wearing military desert BDU pants and a sand colored t-shirt. The avatar had very strong features.
"Wow..." He said softly. "Seeing them so up close... humans are ugly."
As the avatar slowly began sending signals to him, Feint adjusted to looking through it's eyes. But he poked at the fleshy thing with his finger... then made a face at it.
--
While Feint was tormenting his avatar, Reaver hooked up to the holomatter machine.
What it produced intrigued Reaver. "I think I broke mine." He said absently. "It doesn't look military... "
The avatar was thin and pale, with a long black fringe tappering to short in the back of his head. He had a labaret, a hoop around the lower lip, with dark eyes.
It was dressed in a flight suit though, mimicking Reaver's jet fighter alt mode.
--
"Oh scrap, Reave. You are so predictable." Feint muttered between chuckles at the avatar being such a good representation of Reaver's personality. "Maybe you should redo it? Or... I guess... Make it wear it's helmet?"
--
"Maybe later." Reaver remarked as he made the avatar start walking. "Best not to keep Lord Megatron waiting."
---
"Yeah, true." Feint agreed as he transformed into rifle mode and had his avatar catch him and he followed at a jog after Reaver. "Let's go!"
Hearing Feint's appreciation and humbleness caught Thundercracker off guard. To be honest, he couldn't remember the last time he'd heard a fellow Decepticon emote those traits unless Megatron's hand was wrapped around their neck. It was enough to cause the Seeker to hesitate, but he detected legitimate gratitude in the mech's demeanor.
In answer, he shook his head and smiled. "There is nothing to be shamed about. I've grown... accustomed to similar machines over the vorns. The trick is to look for the simplest answers. If it's too complex, Lord Megatron wouldn't trust it for field use."
He added the final part as an after thought. While it was true Megatron wouldn't put his Decepticons in danger haphazardly, the exact methodology of thier current leader was still in question.
Still, he hoped he was being helpful. There were few things that hurt more than looking like a fool in Megatron's optics, and the fact that this mech was concerned enough to mention it instead of slinking away showed he wasn't typical.
Such as knowing my name?
Thundercracker inwardly winced at that, and decided this was the best opportunity to correct that oversight.
"Since we'll be working together, it's the least I can do." He paused, trying to figure out the best way to eat cybercrow. The fact he was known made sense, but that didn't give him a pass for not knowing who he was serving with. "Forgive me for the oversight, but I don't remember your name. Though, we did serve together before, didn't we?"
Feint wrote:"Wow..." He said softly. "Seeing them so up close... humans are ugly."
Thundercracker had to agree. While he believed there were some good qualities to these people, but after what he'd seen, he thought were doing this region a favor. In many ways, he thought they were similar to Cybertronians. Maybe too similar. He couldn't help but wonder if they would be doing the fleshlings and the universe a favor if they wiped them out.
~~~

Warehouse Complex

Dessicator motored along a narrow roadway as he continued along a patrol route he thought would be ideal given their current situation. It was the best way he could think of to deal with having others so close and his desire to level anything that moved in the distance.

It was an inner war he hadn't had to face previously, and it only served to put him more on edge. It would be easy to get lost in energon lust and bombard everything, including his fellow Decepticons, but that wasn't what the mission was.

Why was I selected again? he wondered for what felt like the millionth time. As much as he wanted to think Flamewar was behind it, a vocal part of him argued against it, citing the lack of reasoning in that. If she wanted to see or talk to him, she could have done so at any time. If she wished to gauge his abilities, well, she'd seen those up close when they first met.

No, it had to be something else.

He didn't believe she wanted to embarrass him, so that left only one thing: she wanted him to demonstrate himself to Megatron.

Of course! He wasn't a high enough rank for her to feel comfortable with, so he had to prove himself. It made perfect sense.

Now, all he had to do was keep walking the line between the jovial mech he was around the Decepticons with the murderous bombardier that loved spilling energon.

Not so simple, but it was a challenge after all, was it not?

Pleased that he'd worked through that mystery, he felt confident time would reward him for his struggles. If he could just blow one thing up...

Megatron wrote:>>"Infiltration team, we're heading into the city,"<<

Dessicator's fuel pump nearly skipped a beat at hearing that.

We're going to see action?

It was something that should've made his circuits sizzle with anticipation instead of dread, but if he was going to prove himself, remaining here wasn't the way to do it.

Sighing, he opened his end of the communication and said, >>Message received, Lord Megatron. Enroute now. Dessicator out.<<

Pulling up his navigation system, he entered in the coordinates and a new pathway appeared in his visual.

It had to be better than driving around going crazy.

He held onto that thought until he arrived and transformed. He'd arrived in time to see a couple of avatars enter an Earth vehicle.

Though he was sure one was Megatron, it didn't stop him from thinking, You have got to be kidding me.

Had he been human, he would've whimpered. As a Cybertronian, he barely contained the impulse. Knowing he wouldn't have as much control over his body as a fleshy, even if it was a hologram, didn't help calm him.

You're doing this for Flamewar. Remember that, part of him reasoned.

Not like I'll ever forget, he shot back at himself.

He scanned the area with his optics, looking for anyone (especially Flamewar) that might be watching him. Seeing no one, but knowing someone probably was, he forced himself to focus and deal with the situation.

It was all he could do since committing himself and he knew it.

Unhappy as was possible for a mech, he entered the warehouse in time to see Megatron's Cybertronian form standing with others gathered around.

He didn't want to interact with the others until he sorted himself out, so he ignored them as he thought, Suck it up, big boy. If he and the others can do it, so can you.

He quietly wondered if it was possible to remove the glitch of a personality that had been gnawing at him since this started as he approached the machinery.

Technology wasn't really his thing, but it looked like a neural type of interface as well as a physical one. Looking at those already there, he thought about asking which was better, then decided against it. He didn't want to appear as worried as he felt.

Okay, this shouldn't be difficult just locate the signal and connect and... Oh scrap...

He barely had a chance to register the sensation of being copied, transferred, or whatever they called it before he saw his avatar.

I really should've put some thought into this.

A human male standing about five-foot-three and with a large, protruding stomach and no hair appeared in front of him.

Not quite that image he'd assumed would represent him, but compared to the others, he wondered how out of place he would be on this world.

At least, I got the secondary paint (clothes) right. I think.

With nothing else to do but proceed, the avatar turned and headed toward the waiting vehicles. With any luck, he could find one all to himself. As he got used to his new body, a human saying he'd heard broadcast once came to him, but in a much more fitting style: Misery doesn't alway want company.

Ain't that the truth.

Feint's avatar quietly regarded Thundercracker's as the Seeker spoke.

“Feint.” He said. “I'm Feint. And if you don't remember me, then I'm doing my job right.” He smiled slyly. “I don’t remember being on a mission together, doesn't mean we didn’t though. But my job is to know everyone, and Starscream's usual 'wingmen’... Yep.” He paused a moment and smirked, his playfully sarcastic demeanor creeping into his voice. "You're a stand up kind of Mech, Thundercracker, you sure you're not a 'Bot?"

---

“Feint's spent so much time in stasis as punishment. He keeps shooting at commanders, no one remembers him as he's never activated long enough.” Reaver said absently. He paused briefly. “Reaver, by the way.”

---

“Wish I could say he was lying…” Feint said somberly. “Works to my favor though… the not being remembered part." He climbed on to a Humvee, standing in the door but not getting in, affording him a view above the trucks. "I'm a sniper... So fame... Not a good thing for sneaking around."

>>”Great! And, yeah, you got that right, ‘Cracker. This world will be better off without these insane flesh sacks!”<<

Skywarp then headed back inside the main building of the complex still brushing himself off of the dirt and debris from when the human germ blew himself up. It sill amazed him that the little fleshy had done that. So crazy it almost made his pranks look sane. Then more transmissions came across his come line:

Megatron wrote:>>"Infiltration team, we're heading into the city.”<<

Thundercracker wrote:>>Looks like it’s time to blend in. You joining us or going to babysit those that stay behind?<<

Ah, this should be very interesting. Skywarp had not yet utilized a holomatter avatar on this world. It was something rare for Decepticons, but not unheard of. Autobots used them far more as they seemed to enjoy pretending to be fleshlings. For a seeker like Skywarp, though, the flesh bags were something to stomp on, not to imitate. But, it was better than hanging out in a decrepit hangar. Getting out there would at least be more exciting.

>>”I'm no babysitter. So, yeah, I’m coming, ‘Cracker! Just give me an astrosecond to make myself an avatar.”<<

Skywarp then approached the machine and hooked himself into it. Once the data transference was completed a fake human appeared wearing a black uniform with dark purple trim. He appeared to be Syrian, which would blend in well with the humans of the surrounding region.

The teleporter’s mind was instantly transferred into the holomatter avatar and he glanced up at the towering form of his true self. The real Skywarp seemed to be in a trans-like state as his mind took control of the avatar. “It’s weird being this small,” Skywarp muttered to himself as he looked down at his human body. “And disgusting.”

Skywarp’s avatar then left the main hangar and followed Megatron and the others to the waiting humvees. The prankster got inside one of the lead vehicles and sat next to his long-time friend. “Hey, Thundercracker, nice avatar. You never looked better! Hahahah!”

There it was. The message he’d been waiting for. Dreadnaut shifted himself over to a corner of the hangar, dropping himself down and changing into his impressively large alt mode. A tall human male flickered into existence beside him. He was easily distinguished by his height, which was no less than 6’7”, and his thick beard - done in the traditional style of the region. On his head was a dusty gray turban, and he was wearing a white kurta, equally as dusty as his turban. The man was well-built, with sharp facial features and dark, deep eyes. His body was covered by a long, white shawl.

He stepped down and walked towards Megatron’s holomatter avatar. Before he exited the hangar, however, he shot a glance back at some of his now-comrades. Doomshot, Hazard, Brakeneck. Dessicator and Aegis were perhaps elsewhere. It didn’t matter. At least, not at the moment. Dreadnaut could find time for them later.

For now, it was time to finish the work that had been started. He caught up with the rest of the holomatter avatars. “Sir,” he said to Megatron’s avatar. He lifted his arm in a salute. It felt a bit odd to be doing it at a smaller size. Anything to get by, I suppose.

Given what was at stake with the Autobot fleet surrounding this planet as well, he didn’t have to think hard about what their reaction would be to such a thing. Not that it bothered him. They were as predictable as any being he’d heard of.

Including me, he thought with a wry smile.

Overall, he had to admit Megatron’s plan did have some interesting aspects to it. Though he was curious as to how their holographic matrix would react to human weapons.

He caught himself from thinking too hard on that. He didn’t need to complicate things any further than he already had.

Skywarp wrote:>>”I'm no babysitter. So, yeah, I’m coming, ‘Cracker! Just give me an astrosecond to make myself an avatar.”<<

He couldn’t help but chuckle at that. The few times they’d been out in charge of things had been mainly to help Starscream, ie keep him out of trouble. The punishments they’d received for failing the impossible task more times than not was all the more reason for them to avoid anything resembling that task, ever if their commander wasn’t around.

Survival was a fickle thing at times.

Opening a channel to Skywarp, he said, >>Better hurry, Warp. All the best forms are taken.<< He knew that would light a fire in Skywarp’s thrusters.

All of that only took a few astroseconds, and he turned his focus back to the mech he’d helped, and his friends.

Feint wrote: "Feint.” He said. “I'm Feint. And if you don't remember me, then I'm doing my job right.” He smiled slyly. “I don’t remember being on a mission together, doesn't mean we didn’t though. "You're a stand up kind of Mech, Thundercracker, you sure you're not a 'Bot?"

Oh, look at the spark on this one. So much for the Decepticon ranks being filled with mindless brutes.

Thundercracker nodded. “Good to know you. I’ve fought with so many, it’s hard to keep track. We do tend to stand out, don’t we?” he said, chuckling. Starscream’s wingman. Better than Starscream’s babysitter. He made a note to share that one with Skywarp. If any mech would appreciate that, it’d be him.

“I’ve been accused of worse,” he answered with a smile. He didn’t add those insults generally came from Starscream. He didn’t see a need to expand on that. Though, he did take it as a compliment if a mech apparently as Feint didn’t know more about him than his name.

Reaver wrote:“Feint's spent so much time in stasis as punishment. He keeps shooting at commanders, no one remembers him as he's never activated long enough.” Reaver said absently. He paused briefly. “Reaver, by the way.”

Shooting commanders? That’s… interesting to know, Thundercracker thought, then said, "Good to know you."

Feint wrote:“Wish I could say he was lying…” Feint said somberly. “Works to my favor though… the not being remembered part." He climbed on to a Humvee, standing in the door but not getting in, affording him a view above the trucks. "I'm a sniper... So fame... Not a good thing for sneaking around."

Thundercracker nodded. He, like most in the ranks, didn’t like snipers, but understood their necessity. “It makes sense. Such a skill is needed. I hope when the time comes, you receive the honors you deserve.”

As he finished speaking, Skywarp climbed into the humvee.

Skywarp wrote:“Hey, Thundercracker, nice avatar. You never looked better! Hahahah!”

“Not too shaby yourself, Skywarp. Being a fleshlings suits you.”

Smiling, Thundercracker leaned back and stretched his arms out to the side, testing his new form’s limits by mimicking what he’d seen humans do in their vids. Stretching, he thought it was called.

It did nothing for him except to make him feel foolish for attempting such a… human thing. was sure he’d feel it.

A sudden thought came to him about stories of mech losing their minds when in alternate forms like this, and he couldn’t help but feel uneasy about it. I hope those really were just stories.

Octane received the orders from Megatron. He wasn't overthrilled with the holo avatar but and he was still curious what resources he could scavenge from the area. It will be easy now without the humans and his fellow Cons shooting at things. Octane walked up to Megatron and bowed at the robot form.

"With your permission, Lord Megatron, I think I would be best suited if I stayed behind and did resource management. There might be a few things we could use. I know I found a few barrels of the humans call gasoline which they use for fuel. It would be possible for me to turn it into usable energon if we gathered enough of it. There also could be ways to use their vehicles for our spare parts even if it won't be of the same quality. Maybe the Constructicons could make some use out of the parts."

Battletrap flew and drove in after he received the new orders. It felt good to split apart and get target practice in. He then transformed and recombined. After he was in robot mode, looked over at Flamewar and wondered what the she con was going to do. He decided to walk over to the new machine and plug himself in. The machine made a funny noise to Battletrap and then middle aged man with a rough beard appeared before him. He had a white flight jacket on with a helicopter badge on the shoulders and blue Jean's with JEEP label on the back of the waist. The avatar looked around at the room at the other avatars and joined them waiting to move out.

There were relatively few questions regarding the holomatter generation process. Those that did exist were answered in short order by other Decepticons who were familiar with the process, sparing Megatron the necessity of needing to explain it any further.

Once the time that Megatron had allowed had elapsed, he looked up from the console that he was currently perusing that was contained in the rear of the driver's seat. It was disconcerting to view the world this way, but he would choose this over Thunderwing's bio-organic madness. If this allowed him to advance the infiltration protocols and bring this contested world under heel that much more efficiently, then so be it. He would use these eyes.

"Proceed," is all he said, before the convoy of humvees began to slowly lurch forward as the sun began to peak out over the horizon.

>>"Defensive positions, Decepticons. We will undoubtedly be watched by fleshlings from both sides of this conflict. Just as I have intended. Nevertheless, our transit into the city center may or may not be a smooth one."<<

Amethyst followed Redwing in silence and curiosity as she watched her mate execute the orders they’d all been assigned to. She made sure to be as careful as she could when traversing the small area they were in, because but just as Redwing had found, being truly silent was truly impossible. Compared to the tiny locals, the Decepticons were towering giants. She couldn’t help crushing a structure of some sort under foot as she turned the corner, or could she help her right wing from scraping against the side of a building. The scraping sound was pretty grating too.

“Oops.”, she muttered. She adjusted her wings a little so as not to keep brushing against the other surfaces, est she could adjust them anyways. It wasn’t like they were causing explosions with laser fire and bullets like some of the others who had joined on this mission, so there was at least that. She shook her head a little and sighed, hearing the others clearly making a lot more noise. ‘Well, at least that’s not my problem.’, she thought to herself. If Megatron or Flamewar got angry, let it be with the boys who were causing too much of a ruckus.

The purple and grey seeker watched the mostly red one as he frightened a fleshling by merely coming into it’s vicinity. The small creature, terrified out of his wits, drove his land based vehicle head on into a wall of a building, crushing the front of the vehicle. A tiny scream had all of a sudden become silent as the impact had been made. Amethyst scanned the vehicle for traces of it’s organic vital signs. None were present. It had been terminated. She looked to Redwing and gave him a nod of approval, comming to him, >>”Impressive. You’re obviously terrifying.”<<, she giggled. Scanning around their area and moving as quietly as she could, while also having noticed Thrust just flying about as if he was defying orders or “doing them his own way”, Amethyst gave a sigh. >>”This has got to be one of the strangest assignments I can recall. I’m an aerial dogfighter, not a ground scrounger. Ah well, what can we do but obey, right?”<<, she messaged Redwing.

>>"Infiltration team, we're heading into the city,"<<

That was Lord Megatron’s voice. The immediate area must have been fully secured now. >>”Come on Red, back to the hangar. Guess it’s time to get fleshy with it.”<<, she messaged her Conjunx. She felt a little bitter about using a holomatter avatar to travel around, but at the same time, she could understand it to a certain point. They needed to be able to infiltrate this planet’s populace effectively if they were going to plant the correct seeds for it’s harvest and destruction. In fact, it really was nothing new. The Decepticon Empire had been doing this sort of thing for millennia. They were following their code of conduct by going through the process in phases. Amethyst and many others here were just more used to the raw combat aspect of galactic conquest. ‘Should I feel honored then, to accompany Our Lord in this endeavor?’[/] After all, when were combat specialists ever invited to go on espionage missions? Her brain module began to ache at thinking too much about this.

Passing by the little convoy of fleshling military vehicles and the human facsimile whose designation came up as such on her internal processors, she registered the other seated “human” as Lord Megatron. “Hmmm.”, she thought out loud. “If Lord Megatron can do that, so can I.”

Glancing back to make sure Redwing was following, Amethyst entered the hangar and found a decent place to park her alt mode. She’d waited so long to turn her t-cog. At least she could do so now to “store herself” in this hangar. [i]‘Amethyst, transform!’
, she thought to herself as she initiated the transformation sequence. Soon, a mostly unpainted grey F-15 Eagle with a little purple paint applied to some areas was sitting like a majestic eye sore in a corner of the hangar.

>>”I can’t wait to get those new paint apps to cover all the grey on my chassis. It’s not becoming of a lady.”<<, Amethyst comes Redwing with a sigh. New paint would sure make her feel a lot better about herself, but at least most here didn’t care one way or another what she looked like. The mission came first. The mission always came before one’s own desires. That was a different story for their Commander though. What was the Air Commander up to anyway? Amethyst didn’t think much about it. She was constructing her avatar, and after applying some things she found on the human’s database called Google, she had her desired holomatter’s look.

The cockpit of the fighter jet opened, revealing a black leather clad fleshling wearing a black, darkly tinted flight helmet. She had used similar avatars to this one on other planets, but they had never been complex and had never departed from “their vehicle”. The pilot tossed down a wire and metal planked ladder and climbed down from her aircraft. She then removed her helmet, and shook out her medium length lavender hued hair. Her eyes were amber, like honey. Her skin was a dark tan, matching the pigments of the locals in this region. The avatar flickered then. She no longer held her helmet, but the helmet was replaced with a rifle equipped with a canister of some flammable substance. She pointed the weapon at a wall and gave a short demonstration. Flames flew from the tip of the weapon in a controlled stream. It disappeared when she took her finger off the trigger.

“Homey enough. It’s not me if it’s not equipped with something HOT.”, an organic sounding young female’s voice said. Human wise, she looked in about her mid twenties and was rather attractive for an earth female. She placed her weapon on her back, tethered by a strap. Her boots clacked against the concrete as she made her way towards the exit of the hangar, but she turned and waited for her significant other, in awe as she looked up at how toweringly huge he was, realizing just how small this form was. It was no wonder the little flesh creatures were so terrified of them.

Blackout made his way into the warehouse. As a few others went about the business of disguise, he too made his way to the holomatter machine. There was never anything about the large mech that seemed particularly rushed.

Hooking up, he created an avatar, an aviator, unmistakably Russian with a close buzz cut of blonde hair, grey eyes, and hard features. It was tallish, but not hulking, a toned human who kept in good shape as the greyish-olive green flightsuit didn't tend to hide physique. The flightsuit, however, sported Iranian flag badges, leading one to believe he was a Russian pilot acting as a mercenary for Iranian air force in the conflict. This was purposeful as Russia was involved but it was Iran who had Sikorsky helis, as was Blackout's alt mode.

Blackout's avatar quickly made it's way to the convoy of Humvees as it was about to leave.

"Lord Megatron." He said over the radio from one of the following Humvees. "If it pleases you, I will leave myself in alt mode, I can turn off my avatar and fly in anyone that may need to join us later. I have ample room for human sized cargo."

Redwing relaxed even more at hearing her enjoyment through their comm channel. He'd dealt with so many questionable mechs, that for a brief moment, he thought she was laughing at him. Sighing, he pushed those thoughts away. If she wanted to laugh, she wouldn't have helped me with those slagging glitches on the ship/

Though the doubt was gone, it was quickly replaced by shame for thinking she wouldn't stand by his side. So much for my brave words. I have to be better than this. He would be, he knew. It just took some time.

And working through personal issues while on a mission would only lead to bad things happening to one or both of them, and he couldn't continue functioning if that happened.

Chuckling himself, though forced, he replied, >>When you're good, you're good.<<

He heard, more than saw Thrust when Amethyst messaged him again.

Amethyst wrote:>>”This has got to be one of the strangest assignments I can recall. I’m an aerial dogfighter, not a ground scrounger. Ah well, what can we do but obey, right?”<<

For reasons he didn't understand, that brought an actual chuckle from Redwing that threatened to turn in to a full blown laugh if he hadn't caught himself in time. He was about to respond when Megatron's orders came over their open channel.

Megatron wrote:>>"Infiltration team, we're heading into the city,"<<

That was quicker than I expected.

Amethyst wrote:>>”Come on Red, back to the hangar. Guess it’s time to get fleshy with it.”<<

Redwing did another quick sweep with his scanners to make sure the area was clean before responding, >>Now this is going to be fun.<<

Excitement. It was an odd feeling for Redwing, and one he'd only experience when he and Amethyst swore their love to each other.

He doubted the others shared in his curiosity, but he thought existing in the form of another would provide him with an insight he was lacking. He didn't see the harm in trying to understand another's point of view, so long as they didn't have a laser pointed at him. That just ruined the vibe.

Despite his excitement, Redwing was so lost in his thoughts that he had fallen behind Amethyst as they made their way back to their temporary headqurters. Pulling himself together, he hurried to catch up after seeing her glance back at him. Get it together, Flyboy, this isn't the time to daydream.

Amethyst wrote:>>”I can’t wait to get those new paint apps to cover all the grey on my chassis. It’s not becoming of a lady.”<<

Redwing tilted his head to the side as he watched his love. As much as he was looking forward to helping her with her new paint job, he couldn't help but admire her current color and form. >>Maybe not, but nothing can hide your spark from me.<<

Redwing took his place next to her and transformed. It didn't matter if the others hadn't done so before activating their holomatter, he wasn't going to let Amethyst feel left out.

Once he was in his jet mode, he connected his holomatter system to the more powerful generator Megatron had brought and in a wink of a glitch, he found himself staring at a medium-sized man with flame red hair and a full body black flightsuit standing in front of his nosecone. "Not bad looking for a fleshy," he muttered as he stared at himself before the sequence completed and he found himself staring at his former self.

Whoa, talk about a trip. This is definitely going to be a learning experience. He

He walked around his former self, examining every bolt, every scratch. Shaking his head, he turned and froze at seeing Megatron and the others standing near the machine, each as still as a statue yet more imposing than ever. "Far out..." His voice trailed off as he slowly walked toward the door. He made it a dozen steps before tripping over his own feet and nearly falling had he not been close enough to the hanger door to catch himself.

Not the best way to start things off in a new body.

It was then he noticed Amethyst by the door, and before he could stop it, color flooded his holomatter cheeks. "Um... I meant to do that." Clearing his throat, he continued, "We'd better get to the transports before we're left behind."

Like Octane, Astrotrain did not exactly feel ideally suited to be a direct part of Megatron's stealth incursion into the human warzone. His modus operandi was more closely aligned with Octane's: transportation. Either of personnel or resources.

In this case, he had been more than a little intrigued by what he had overheard his fellow triple-changer propose to Megatron: convert crude fleshie fuel into energon? Would it work? What would it taste like? Astrotrain's curiosity was certainly piqued.

"You really think you can convert this garbage into energon?" Astrotrain asked Octane as he moved away from Megatron. "This land looks like it could be a treasure trove of abandoned armaments and undetonated ordnance. Maybe I can assist with acquiring some additional raw materials. The fleshbags have to be transporting fuel and equipment on these little railways of theirs."

*"And you have what was promised?"* the military official on the screen said in thick, enunciated Arabic.

*"What was promised and more,"* Megatron responded to the face on the handheld human tablet device using the human's same language. The regalia on his avatar had shifted to reflect Russian rather than American regalia. *"I have no time to make arrangements such as this unless I can deliver."*

*"Good. Good. You...you speak the home tongue better than I would expect, for an outsider."*

*"I'm a quick study,"* Megatron said, a slight smirk on his human avatar's battle worn facial-features.

*"Until we meet,"* the Syrian commander said, as the screen abruptly went to black.

"Fleshling trash. I couldn't have picked an easier world to ignite planetary conflict," Megatron said, looking over at Flamewar's human avatar, a human woman approximately a decade or so younger than Megatron's choice of avatar and in a nondescript black military uniform.

"We may be able to skip a phase. The natives of this planet have been at war with each other since the dawn of their creation. Everything on this world preys upon something else," Flamewar said.

"Time will tell," Megatron agreed.

>>"Lord Megatron. If it pleases you, I will leave myself in alt mode, I can turn off my avatar and fly in anyone that may need to join us later. I have ample room for human sized cargo,"<< came a transmission from Blackout.

>>"Excellent, Blackout. Remain on standby accordingly,"<< Megatron transmitted back as he looked out the window of his transport. Up close and personal, a Cybertronian with any combat function would be hard-pressed to look at the surroundings and not see the similarities between this and certain regions of Cybertron. Unfortunately for this world, it would not be rebuilt into the universal gem that Cybertron would one day become.

>>"Ahhhh, very good Soundwave. Inform the Combaticons of my satisfaction with a job well done. Have them drop off the erstwhile Air Commander at the warehouse complex outside Aleppo and instruct him to join us. I would have words with the Seeker. Then have them report to Shockwave. Megatron out."<<

"Some would say energy is energy. I can convert most chemical energy compounds into energon similar to Mixmaster ability. Now as for the taste, we both know it won't be as good as the high grade natural stuff. I think the all natural is even better than the super energon we had several cycles ago but not the same buzz. The biggest question is if we can find enough of this gasoline to make any energon. I think this is the same stuff we swiped back on the water platform a few deca cycles ago but more refined. I am not sure if Megatron intends on making this warehouse a true fortified position but might as well scrounge up whatever materials we can. I still think the Constructicons would do well being here but it wouldn't surprise me they are working on their gestalt making it better."

Octane transformed into tanker mode and drove around searching for any useful resource. The idea of interacting with humans even in holo form bugged him.
