The parts of the room further away from him, only got a tiny bit chillier.

Thrust stood among the other Seekers, taking in Megatron’s words as though they were priceless energon. This is what he lived for, this is the kind of mission that lifted a mech into higher visibility.

Oh yes, this was a mission Thrust was going to enjoy. There was just one small problem.

“We’re not going to fight the Autobots?” The words were out of his vocalizer before he could stop them, and right after Megatron had asked if there were any questions.

His optics flashed briefly as energon suddenly surged through him. He fought to keep his faceplace locked in as intense a feature as possible as his processor glitched slightly, causing him to lock up in mid-thought.

When it corrected itself an astrosecond later, he quietly grunted and mumbled, “Forgive my questioning, Lord Megatron. I am anxious to leave burned out Autobot husks in my wake.”

Yes, so much better. Those words are worthy of a true warrior.

~~~
Thundercracker would’ve smacked his forehead at hearing Thrust’s voice break the quiet had he not been standing at attention.
Of all the glitches… At least, he fixed it. Maybe. He forced himself to keep his optics focused on Megatron as he waited for the slagmaker’s reaction. It would give him a true insight into their leader’s mentality after enduring whatever he had while missing.
It was an interesting test on his behalf, as he didn’t wish any harm to come to Thrust, but he also knew the old Megatron wouldn’t do any permanent damage. This brought the questions as to what they’d do if he lost himself again as he’d been when first arriving on the Thanatos.
Still, he couldn’t help but wonder if any of the others were as curious as he was, and if so, how many? It would be a topic of heated discussion had it been about anyone else, but no one was foolish enough to question Megatron’s state of mind.
Well, there is one, but it’s probably best that he’s not here. His attention went to wondering where Screamer had gotten himself to this time, but he stopped himself. He’d found himself worrying (Is that really the right word?) about him too often lately and too much overall. There were other, bigger problems to deal with at the moment.
Like declaring war on another planet with the Autobots in such close proximity. Not that he had any love for the fleshlings crawling around down there, but another enemy wasn’t what they needed.
I hope you’re as thorough as you were previously, Megatron. He ran through the faces he’d seen board the shuttle after he and Skywarp arrived. We can’t afford a mistake with this many of our warriors relying on stealth.
That brought up another thought and fear, but they were something he’d worry about later.
Yeah, I got a few of them, but I ain’t dumb enough to ask them. Especially with Flamewar here.
Dessicator stood against the hull of the shuttle, studying the metal as it helped take his processor away from the amount of Decepticons filling the shuttle.
This is not good. I don’t work well with others…
His processor was flooded with images of those that had been sent out with him that had been overzealous and rushed into a complex before he was finished targeting it. He’d never figured out how to explain his desire to level everything before going in to others. He knew it didn’t make sense, but he wasn’t good at physical confrontations. It was why he preferred the long range attacks over getting up close and personal. It was cleaner and safer.
He often lost himself in energon lust too easily at times, and that’s when accidents happened. Most times, he didn’t see anyone before it was too late.
It was for this reason that he had become reluctant to go on this mission when seeing how many were taking part. More than that, how would his new friends react to seeing him in action? What if one of them enters an attack zone too soon and he drops a blast right on their heads?
Others just managed to get in the way. Like Flamewar had by accident. Had he been a little more precise with his strike…
He shook his head, chasing the thought away and his thoughts wandered to the notion of opening one of the doors and stepping out into space. He was close enough he was sure he could get back to the Thanatos if he released the recoil absorption feature on his gattling gun.
Tossing that idea aside, he could only think, Come on, land this thing already. It’s too scraping cramped.
'Ooo! This is going to be good!' Feint happily thought as Megatron spoke. Nothing better for someone who transformed into a sniper rifle to be ... On... A infiltration...wait... Holomatter avatars? "Aww scrap." He softly muttered.
Hold the communication module... Who said the sniper rifle couldn't go with the holomatter avatar? They we're capable of carrying objects, he could have his carry himself!
He climbed up on to Reaver's shoulder (much to the taller mech's dissatisfaction) so he could be seen... and heard.
"Lord Megatron, my upmost apologies for asking a silly question." He finally said loud enough that their Supreme Leader could hear. "Will we be posing as military or civilian fleshies?"
Civilian may be difficult to carry a rifle without attracting attention, even in an area of unrest. Not totally odd, but the point of infiltration was not to attract more attention than necessary in his opinion.
Redwing let out a sigh of relief when he heard it was only a holomatter mission. Yet.. He couldn't help but wonder why such strong fighters were chosen. Could it be that this was only part one of this phase of the plan?
Redwing then sighed in a more disheartened tone. He didn't fancy the thought of something bad happening to Amethyst. He tried to put the thought aside.
As Redwing's mind churned, he couldn't help but gaze around the room of the small craft at how many various characters there were. Even Megatron himself was aboard. It made no sense to Redwing as to why Megatron would take it upon himself to join this specific group in this single area of the mission, but Megatron was the mastermind after all.
The red seeker then wondered what his avatar would look like, and what Amethyst's would be as well. He didn't know how the technology worked, so he figured he would wait and see.
Then, Redwing realized he had been staring at the wall for a bit. He quickly shook his head and stood up straight. Better not look tired in front of lord Megatron. He then bumped Amethyst on the arm and said quietly,
"Wonder what our avatars will look like. I mean, they're fleshies, yeah, but.. Idunno, some of them do know good fashion sense. Heh, then again, some of them look more like scraplets than stylish, heh. Hope we'll look at least slightly respectable though."
Amethyst felt uncomfortable. For one, she had already felt a little depressed at the fact she couldn't get her new paint job before this mission had begun. Sure, parts of her were still painted the generic purple and grey of most Seeker warriors, but she also had unpainted parts from the extensive repairs she'd recently had done by Scrapper. If it wasn't for Redwing being here with her and providing her with comfort at his just being near her, she wouldn't have anything to say at all unless she had been spoken to. Another that was making her uncomfortable was the fact there were so many mechs crammed in this shuttle. There wasn't much space to move, which made her want to transform into her alt mode and stretch even more. However, that would be a really bad idea. If she did that, people would get shoved into the walls and the worst thing that could happen is she could anger their Lord Megatron. Therefore, she'd have to wait until they disembarked first, but would she even be allowed to have time to switch to her alt mode for a moment? What with the kind of mission that was presented? It all seemed weird and was definitely all new to Amethyst. It was one thing to have a holomatter pilot aboard your alt mode...another to be galavanting about as one. Also...who in the pit was making it so COLD in here?! Amethyst grumbled and looked rather sour about it. She hated the cold.
Listening to the others speak, Amethyst inwardly sighed. She too wanted some action, like Thrust did. If not the Autobots, than raining hell down on the fleshlings would do, but marauding as a fleshling herself was something never before heard of. Surely though, Megatron thought that this mission would be fruitful, or else why would he suggest such a thing? Hearing what Feint asked next, Amethyst wondered about that too. It would be much better to pose as their military. Amethyst wanted to carry around a flamethrower at the very least. You didn't see civilians do such a thing. How did fleshling NAILS act anyways? It didn't matter ultimately...they were all creatures of which would soon be ready for the slaughter as they procured this world for the betterment of the race of Cybertron, whether the Autobots liked it or not.
Redwing then nudged Amethyst in the arm, saying
"Wonder what our avatars will look like. I mean, they're fleshies, yeah, but.. I dunno, some of them do know good fashion sense. Heh, then again, some of them look more like scraplets than stylish, heh. Hope we'll look at least slightly respectable though."
"Hmmm?", Amethyst sounded, looking at Redwing with a curious look on her face before responding with a nod, "I suppose.....their outter layers have a variety of colors and patterns to choose from. I will base my holomatter avatar according to what is most like "me", in a sense, as a fleshling."
Blackout was doing a weapons check as he listen to Megatron's briefing.
A slight nod came from him, he greatly approved of this type of mission, it was exactly what he was built for. He looked over his fellow Decepticons, being nearly the tallest there, towards their leader.
He didn't have any questions at the moment, he would wait for specific orders before gathering more detail.
"One." Dreadnaut didn't waste any time. His cold, dark and commanding voice boomed through the shuttle. His amber optics coldly scanned the room. A plethora of seekers, the group that had formed in the corridor alongside Hazard and the rest, and of course, Megatron. The slagmaker himself.
The shuttle continued its descent, past the Mediterranean Sea and into Lebanese airspace, en route ultimately for Syria and its capital--Damascus.
Megatron had opened the floor to questions for a reason. The infiltration protocols were complex and needed to be understood if they were going to be executed properly. And each phase required its own set of skills.
“We’re not going to fight the Autobots?” one of his Seekers, Thrust, was the first to ask.
"If the mission is completed flawlessly, the Autobots will be none the wiser as to our presence. But I have contingencies in place that allow for our discovery and for the infiltration of this world to be moved forward, regardless."
"Lord Megatron, my upmost apologies for asking a silly question. Will we be posing as military or civilian fleshies?"
Megatron gave a nod of recognition to the Decepticon who had spoken.
"Shockwave's facsimiles have infiltrated various aspect's of this world's operations both through its military and private sectors. We will do the same. Given the wartorn nature of the region, we will have ample latitude in terms of the specifics of our deceptions."
"How quickly would you like it done?" another Decepticon spoke. His question spoke of the typical bravado that filled his ranks. The Emperor of Destruction would not deny that it pleased him.
"Stay focused on subterfuge, Dreadnaut. The flesh creatures will advance things nicely once the embers of war are sufficiently stoked."
Megatron then turned to Flamewar.
"Address any other concerns or questions they have," Megatron said, before turning and proceeding for the pilot's cabin where he had sent Astrotrain, whereby he could ensure they landed in a facility that would suit their needs.
Megatron wrote:"My fellow Decepticons...we came to this world for a reason. To add it to the collection of the Decepticon Empire and strip its energy riches bare so that the extinction that looms over our kind never comes to pass. The initial phases of my strategy have proceeded excellently, despite minor setbacks. And so now we move to advance to Phase Three. As such, I have scoured the databanks of this primitive planet and found a region that has been in varying states of war nearly since the time these pathetic little primates could stand upright. Even now, it is a hotspot that has the world's attention, making it a prime location to be exploited.
"Once we've landed and found a suitable base of operations, we will use our holomatter avatars as I direct to strike out and stoke these embers of conflict. Where fitting, I will send you directly into the field. Astrotrain--head to the cabin and launch this shuttle to these coordinates.”
"Questions?"
Skywarp stood back up to his full height and took several steps back from Lord Megatron as he spoke to all present in the shuttle. The teleporter was very happy to hear that they were heading into Phase Three of infiltration. Finally, they could start doing some real damage to this world and it would be the flesh sacks that would do most of it. Hopefully, not all though, the prankster thought as the slagmaker opened the floor to questions.
The black and purple seeker thought about asking something but was quickly cut off by a series of inquiries by other Decepticons around him. Most covered what he had been wondering about. Skywarp wasn’t a thinker, obviously. He just did what he was told. He was a grunt, nothing more or less. He wasn’t completely stupid, but he wasn’t a strategist, either.
Skywarp listened as Megatron addressed the concerns of some of the others. It all sounded great, certainly better than anything that filthy Predacon “lord” could’ve come up with. Thank Primus Megatron was back in charge. Now, things would really get interesting.
Megatron wrote:"Address any other concerns or questions they have.”
The slagmaker spoke to Flamewar before heading off to the pilot’s cabin. Skywarp then turned to Thundercracker. “Well, it looks like we’re finally going to see some action….maybe. Or at least our avatars will. Don’t know how I feel about that.” The teleporter than thought hard for a moment. “I guess we’ll have to change our outer appearance again to match the colors of the local jets. Good thing I remember how from our last mission. Heh. That was embarrassing having the likes of Brawl remind me how.”
For some reason, the shuttle felt a lot colder than the hangar had been, despite more mechs being crammed into it.
The large, heavily armed mech (Dreadnaut) in the room seemed to mean business. Heh. Showoff. Brakeneck casually nudged him in his side. "Too little action for you, big guy? Big boss wants this slag calculated till the microklik."
The monster truck scoffed. "Trust me, I wanna go wreck stuff as much as you, but we don't really got much of a choice, know what I'm sayin'?"
Sixshot remained standing silently beside Megatron as the slagmaker explained to all present why they were here. He then opened the floor to questions and answered each one in the order they were received. As for the phase sixer, himself, he knew that his place was to ensure that Megatron did not relapse back into his chaotic state and start attacking his own Decepticons again. The sixchanger was not the slagmaker’s bodyguard here. He was everyone else’s.
Once Megatron was finished speaking, he referred any further questions to Flamewar to be answered. Sixshot gave her a knowing wink before following the Decepticon leader into the pilot’s cabin where Astrotrain had already disappeared into. The STAG actually had a question of his own, one that he felt only Megatron could answer.
“My lord, if I may,” Sixshot finally spoke up. “Besides ensuring that you don’t go on another rampage, will my talents be utilized elsewhere on this mission? As you are aware, my various alternate modes will not blend in very well with the native vehicles of this planet and my modes cannot be changed due to how I am constructed. I suppose I could utilize holomatter to alter some of my alt modes’ appearances, but I am unsure how well that would work.”
Sixshot paused for a moment before continuing. “I would have addressed this with Flamewar as you commanded, but I felt remaining by your side was more prudent, Lord Megatron.”
Thrust nodded, smiling. He was beyond grateful that his question was the first one acknowledged by their mighty leader. ‘Thank you, Lord Megatron. We, your warriors, shall endeavor to bring glory to the Decepticons’ and your glory,” he said, not expecting a reply.
As grateful as he was, he couldn’t help but wonder why a warrior of his skill, not to mention those around him, would be needed on such a mission against being that weren’t a threat. Surely one of the ‘Waves (Soundwave or Shockwave) could come up with something for this occasion? Why are our talents wasted of such pathetic lifeforms?
He was about to voice his question as Megatron handed over the Q and A to Flamewar, but his logic circuits clicked on just in time for him not to speak.
Doing so would only make him appear afraid of beings that were virtually unable to harm any of them. Such a display of weakness would shatter his carefully constructed mythos he’d worked too hard dispensing Autobots to create, and how would he recover from such a downfall? He doubted if even Megatron could climb out of that potential chasm. Not that he intended to voice that, either. No, he would remain his usual confident self as he’d follow orders and squash any fleshlings that got in his way.
He was heartened by a simple fact: Surely, if Megatron is leading us, there shall be glory..
~~~

Thundercracker listened to the questions being asked. They were the typical ones a group of soldiers were expected, if not meant, to ask, so he decided it best to wait and watch.

The mission did sound simple and straight forward enough, and just the type of mission to get a mech’s processor on straight after a layoff. It all made sense. Maybe too much sense, but that also gave Thundercracker pause.

Had he become so accustomed to questioning everything to the point he trusted no one in command? He didn’t think so. He had good intentions and the future of the Decepticon forces in his spark.

Maybe it’s time to allow things to proceed naturally. I can’t save everyone, can I? Who would expect me to? He knew the answer to that, just as he knew it was habit he couldn’t break. But at least the flesh bags wouldn’t be too busy killing each other off to stop them.

The irony that the Decepticons were going to help the humans do to themselves what the Transformers had been doing for millions of years wasn’t lost on him. Just another thing to clog the processor, he thought, and would have sighed had he been capable of doing so.

Thundercracker was so lost in his thoughts he almost didn’t hear Skywarp.

Skywarp wrote: “Well, it looks like we’re finally going to see some action….maybe. Or at least our avatars will. Don’t know how I feel about that.”

That caught Thundercracker by surprise and he couldn’t help but smile. Skywarp was too blasted good at breaking through his serious side, even if it was unintentional. It was probably good for him, but he’d never admit it openly. Not that he had to; there were few secrets between the two of them. Leaning toward Skywarp and keeping his voice low, he replied, “Interesting point. I hadn’t thought of that.” Something about it struck him as odd, but he couldn’t put a finger on what it was.

Skywarp wrote: “I guess we’ll have to change our outer appearance again to match the colors of the local jets. Good thing I remember how from our last mission. Heh. That was embarrassing having the likes of Brawl remind me how.”

At that, Thundercracker’s smile broke wide open and he had to stifle a laugh. A slight chuckle still escaped, though. “Bet it was the highlight of his vorn. Wonder if they’re green or tan this time. What do you think the odds are one of us picks a civilian vehicle by accident?”

~~~
Seeing Megatron hand things over to Flamewar caught Dessicator’s attention. Not that she had to work hard to gain it. So far, she seemed to be the only one able to pierce his “battlefield” shell. She was also the only one he could or would stop shelling an area if she was in it.
It was a quandary he hadn’t been able to figure out, but he also wasn’t too sure he wished to at this point. The damage was done, so to speak. He briefly wondered if he’d be able to show that kind of restraint toward his new friends? At least, it’ll be my avatar and not me doing this, right?
The question bounced around in his processor. He didn’t really expect an answer, but it did lessen his anxiety about shifting into his combat mode around his friends. If this, and Flamewar’s presence, helped, he wasn’t about to ignore it.
Looks like I may be able to enjoy the company of others this time.
He waited as patiently as he could, but his hands kept clenching and unclenching as he waited for Flamewar to speak. Even a mundane phrase would be welcome to his receptors.
Battletrap looked at Megatron glad to have their true leader back in charge. He wondered about this whole avatar bit thing but Battletrap seldom questions orders unless to have clarification. Megatron opened up the floor for such questions but Battletrap had none. Then Megatron went into the front cabin and left anymore questions to the very capable Flamewar. Battletrap walked up to her feeling comfortable due to their previous mission together.
"What is the target? Do we grab stuff again? My avatar can't split like I can."
...............
Octane looked around the room and listen to the overall conversation. Part of him wanted to be in the cockpit with Astrotrain but knew he wasn't the best pilot out of the triple changers.
"It had been a long time since we used our avatars, Blitzy. I halfway expect you military guy to fit in well but a truck driver might be a bit out of place unless I can find a truck to steal. Hopefully we can grab some resources on this trip or at least get a good sample of what they have."
"Understood," was the cold, monosyllabic answer that Dreadnaut gave to Megatron. Frankly enough, he didn't understand why this kind of mission had to be done. What was the use of escalating tension amongst a foreign species?
But he didn't exactly have much of a say in this situation. The best course of action was to finish the task at hand quickly and efficiently. That's all that mattered.
Brakeneck wrote:"Too little action for you, big guy? Big boss wants this slag calculated till the microklik. Trust me, I wanna go wreck stuff as much as you, but we don't really got much of a choice, know what I'm sayin'?"
Dreadnaut looked at Brakeneck with a gaze that spelled death. >>"No, you fool. I do not wish to rush the mission for the thrill of combat the likes of an uncultured swine like yourself would do. Understand that there is a reason other than your own for why someone would want to complete something."<<. Dreadnaut did not want to start a scene in the middle of the shuttle, so he used a comm instead. Despite the rather angry nature of his words, his tone was relatively quiet, if only tensed. After the comm, he turned his head back to face the front, acting as if nothing had happened.
Though he didn't foresee any combat in his near future, Hazard was anticipating the mission ahead. A chance to achieve glory for himself? He could see it now...honors, medals. A promotion even!
His grand daydream was interrupted by Brakeneck, who insisted on killing the mood.
Completely ignoring the subelty of Dreadnaut, Hazard marched up the 'Con and did his best to get into Brakeneck's faceplate. "Excuse me, but do you know who you're dealing with? This is Dreadnaut, and I can assure you that he can and will pummel you without straining a servo."
It also did not occur to the small, brightly colored flier that he was making a display in front of their Lord and Master.
Pilot's Cabin--Skies over Lebanon
As Megatron began examining the visual readouts of the Syrian region, there were several attractive possibilities. As always, it would fall to his analysis to choose the optimum site from which to conduct their operations.
“My lord, if I may, Besides ensuring that you don’t go on another rampage, will my talents be utilized elsewhere on this mission? As you are aware, my various alternate modes will not blend in very well with the native vehicles of this planet and my modes cannot be changed due to how I am constructed. I suppose I could utilize holomatter to alter some of my alt modes’ appearances, but I am unsure how well that would work.”
"Sparingly," Megatron said calmly. "You will need to utilize the holomatter avatar process to go out into the field, just as I am going to do. At least initially. We both know that you are no stranger to Phase Six, but I want you to gain a greater familiarity with the preceding phases. Of all my Warriors Elite, I believe it is you who will benefit the most from such knowledge."
Megatron then returned his focus to the holomatter screens he had brought up. As he looked over the city of Aleppo, it appeared to have been shelled almost to the brink of extinction. And yet, there was still life there, and a considerable military presence. It would do nicely, particularly considering the alternate modes of a majority of his Decepticons. They would be able to enter the field with their holomatter avatars and directly with their alternate modes without drawing any direct attention to themselves.
"This warehouse complex, on the outskirts of Aleppo. We land there," the Decepticon leader commander Astrotrain.
"Yes, my lord," the triple-changer responded obediently.
Thrust watched as Megatron handed over the details to Flamewar and headed to the pilot’s section.
So much the better. It wasn’t that he disliked Flamewar or anything, he respected her like few others, but taking this many warriors into a… this?
He also wasn’t one to doubt Megatron. After all, it was because of his greatness that they had all thrown off the yoke of the oppressors and strive for something better than they had previously. The only stumbling block was the Autobots, but that couldn’t be helped. Not everyone could accept they were on the wrong side of history.
But to take part in subterfuge? With all of these magnificent warriors? It didn’t make any sense to him.
He was designed to attack, to destroy anyone standing in the Decepticons’ way, so why was he selected for this?
His processor glitched at the question, so he decided it better to find another who would understand him. Commiserate was the term, was it not?
It sounded like it to him as his optics scanned the group gathered in the shuttle until he found a couple of familiar faces.
Thank Primus there are more Seekers with us.
With a couple of semi-nifty steps and a few bumped mechs, he eventually drew close to his fellow conehead, Dirge. “Dirge! It’s good to see you again!” His vocalizer dripped with excitement, but he managed to keep it low out of respect for Flamewar. Irritating her was like irritating Megatron, and that was something no mech in his right processor wanted.
As he came to a stop, he spotted Amethyst and… Redwing? Yes, that was it. He remembered him from the bar and how he’d been one of the few to come to his aid against the scraplet infested glitch Offroad.
Not that he was holding a grudge against Offroad or anything. He just didn’t understand what he said to unhinge him to the point of violence.
Pushing the thought aside to open up room for more important musings, he focused on Amethyst and Redwing. Something was different with them. What could it be?
He thought about opening a group communication channel with them, but he didn’t want to risk getting the conversations crossed in his processor. Again. Dirge was a proven warrior and deserved all the respect due, but maybe it would be good for them to meet?
He had to admit the idea had merit, and he decided to ask. What’s the worst that could happen. His decision made, he lowered his voice even further and said, “I know this isn’t a social event, but there are a couple of fellow warriors that could use our guidance when we reach Earth. We wouldn’t want Thundercracker or Skywarp to take them under wing and take all the credit, do we?”
Dessicator’s attention was drawn to the shorter mech’s louder than expected voice. At first, he thought he sounded familiar, then seeing it was Hazzard standing between Dreadnaut and another mech.
Despite his concerns, he was surprised to find himself smiling at the smaller mech’s steal plated supports at feeling the need to defend his friend so vehemently. It was something he hadn’t experienced before, and wondered if he would grow close enough to this group to partake in the comradery they shared.
He’d always been a traveling artillery unit, and having not staying in one place for long, he’d become accustomed to making quick, disposable friends that he wouldn’t remember once he moved onto a new assignment.
Maybe it’s time to change that?
It sounded good, but was it really that easy? How would they react if they saw his energon lust? How would he react to their reaction?
Those were important questions, but if he wanted to belong to something, it was up to him to take the first real step. Meeting mechs was great, but protecting them from themselves was another.
With that, he glanced at Flamewar. While he didn’t notice her reacting to the brief interaction, he thought it best to step in before things got too heated. The last thing they needed was to start this mission off by killing one another. The fact it could impress Flamewar was another driving force in his thinking. Never mind it allowed him to forget his problems for the moment.
Though he was only a few strides away from the group, it took him pushing past a couple of mechs before he reached his friends.
To his credit, Dreadnaut had remained passive throughout, which showed Dessicator he, at least, understood the possible ramifications of their actions.
Putting a hand on each of the pair’s shoulders, he spoke in a low tone to both Hazard and Brakeneck, “This is not the time, nor the place for an oil squirting challenge.” Turning his attention to Brakeneck, he added, “Might I suggest revisit this over a cup of engex before you’re embarrassed on what could be the most important mission of your operational cycle?”
He didn’t want to think it, but the first thought that came to him was how he missed working alone. If this blows back on me, that’ll probably be the only duty I’ll see. Oddly enough, the thought bothered him.
Skies over Lebanon
When it came to the Seekers and team playing, Dirge most likely ranked rather low in the rankings of 'most chummy'. The silent, sullen and 'creepy' type and a master of projecting fear into others, the cone-headed seeker had remained silent for an extended period of time leaving others to wonder just what exactly he was computing behind those dull and nearly-dead optics. His presence had certainly left a chilling effect on Nitro who had remained relatively quiet, all desire to boast and posture completely killed by the ominous presence of the conehead. The two had almost, briefly, squabbled away from the others...and then Nitro had shut up after a few creepy stare from Dirge.
Cravex wrote:Dirge. “Dirge! It’s good to see you again!” His vocalizer dripped with excitement, but he managed to keep it low out of respect for Flamewar.
"Excitable, are we? Yes, we do meet again. Hopefully all of you are well prepared for this. After all none of us would wish to be seen as a disappointment or failing to meet expectations, do we not? That would be...troublesome." Dirge chuckled ever so slighly, just enough for it to be noticeable and ominous, leaving the implications of what he meant up in the air for others to decide.
"We do have ourselves a new...friend...here. Apparently he think he's better than us seeker, does he not?" Once more, Nitro Zeus received a death glare full of horrific implications a his fate and the big, burly grey bot simply seemed to shrink. Even lacking a face, it was clear he feared 'that creep Dirge'. "No need to fear for conflict nor disruptions of our mission objectives. He's been put in his place. Hasn't he?"
Thurst smiled at hearing Dirge’s chuckle. He’d be lying if he said the mech didn’t unnerve him. He was more off-putting than Offroad. The difference was, Thrust could trust a fellow Seeker. Dirt pounders spent too much time sucking up dust and grime and it did something to their processors that he didn’t… no, couldn’t understand.
It was too… strange. How could anyone be happy puttering around on the ground instead of soaring through the air, seeking enemies at super sonic speeds? It was too… Autobotish.
The thoughts clouded his processor for a blip, nearly causing it to freeze up before the thoughts went into the proper files and he could respond. One of these vorns he’d figure out how to delete some of those memories. Some were too embarrassing to keep.
“Why shouldn’t I? We’re part of Lord Megatron’s grand plan to further the Decepticon cause. These squishy flesh bags won’t know what hit them.”
Dirge wrote: "We do have ourselves a new...friend...here. Apparently he think he's better than us seeker, does he not?"
Another one? Just what I don’t need. He glanced at Nitro Zeus and studied his faceplate, then his overall design. He’d heard more than seen the mech enter the hanger, and he was grateful for that. As much as he enjoyed seeing another braggadocio mech, there was room for only one legend to build at a time, and a Seeker wannabe wasn’t included on the list.
Still, that didn’t mean they couldn’t help each other. Everyone had a use, at least until Nitro Zeus’ served his purpose to elevate Thrust’s reputation. Smiling, he reached out and rested a hand on Nitro Zeus’ shoulder while giving Dirge a slight smile. “We can’t all be perfect, can we, warrior? It’s important to know where we stand. Have you heard about how I handed that dirt pounder Offroad? Now there’s an inflated piece of work. If you wish to have a future, you’ll need friends like us who will help guide you on the proper road.”
>>"No, you fool. I do not wish to rush the mission for the thrill of combat the likes of an uncultured swine like yourself would do. Understand that there is a reason other than your own for why someone would want to complete something."<<
Brakeneck, while not the nerdiest mech, identified the comm’s sender as Dreadnaut, the mech right next to him. Rather impressive with his words and eloquent texture, he seemed like a mech of culture. Brakeneck figured he’d just talk to him openly. “I see how it is then. Well then, keep your reasons to yourself. I’m sure they’re much too important for me to know.” The sarcasm in his voice was very noticeable. He scoffed as a smaller jetformer started “berating” him.
"Excuse me, but do you know who you're dealing with? This is Dreadnaut, and I can assure you that he can and will pummel you without straining a servo."
“Heh, we’ll see about that, kiddo. Now why don’t you go play with someone else? This is a talk between big mechs.” His bravado did not decrease one bit, despite the fact that a much larger mech was standing to him, who was practically a walking arsenal. He widened his optics once at the smaller mech, and once at the larger one. Then, came a different voice.
“This is not the time, nor the place for an oil squirting challenge.” Turning his attention to Brakeneck, he added, “Might I suggest revisit this over a cup of engex before you’re embarrassed on what could be the most important mission of your operational cycle?”
“Pfft, don’t embarrass yourself, tough guy.” He pounded his fists together, his giant tires shifting on his shoulders. “If you think all of this is some scrapshow then perhaps YOU should be one reconsidering your position here.”
Redwing nodded at Amethyst's response before looking down and beginning to feel worry again. At least it wasn't a guns blazing mission this time.. Hopefully. Redwing just wanted to get this done and get out with him and Amethyst both okay.
The red seeker then noticed that two of the conehead seekers seemed to be giving another Decepticon a hard time. Typical of them. Redwing knew his place in ranks however, so he decided to avoid saying anything to the seekers. What he did do however is try and show that not all the seekers are a bunch of stuck-up and/or creepy sociopaths.
Redwing tapped Nitro Zeus on the other shoulder, and then warmly and in a lower voice said, "We're all valuable warriors, maan. Whether we be on laaand or in the skyyy, we all got our skills and passions to keep this Decepticon cause in full swing. Let's all keep that in mind."
Redwing then turned his body around and walked back over to Amethyst, and winked at her with a slight smirk.
Doomshot simply stood in place as he listened to his dear lord Megatron. He missed this feeling of being under command of Megatron himself. The biggest step towards victory was knowing your leader was deserving of the title, and Megatron was of course the top pick.
Then, a slight scuffle broke out near him between the meths he had just met previously in the corridors. Oh fun. Though it's tempting, I will avoid to get involv-
Just then, his brother Hazard jumped into the situation without thinking. Great. Just great, brother. Now I may have to get involved before our dear leader must delve into this filth himself.
Doomshot then grabbed Hazard by the shoulder, and said to all those involved (including Hazard) in a commanding but controlled tone, "We have no business starting a quarrel prior to a mission. We are obedient and trained warriors. Act like them. Otherwise, you may very well be fit for no more than Autobot fodder."
At that, Doomshot guided Hazard away from the group to stand with him. He then glared to his side at Hazard before setting his eyes back on Megatron (who was now leaving the main cabin) and Flamewar to await further instructions.
