Takara Masterpiece Rumor Discussion

It's speculation and wishful thinking time, thanks to a post on the Cybergeeks Alliance Facebook page, apparently by fellow fan Fudyn Randomspawner. Taken from the instruction booklet for Transformers Generations Legends class Bombshell, the user has spotted what looks like a Megatron design sported alongside one of Masterpiece Optimus Prime, possibly Bumblebee, or maybe even a potential Cliffjumper. As we said, all of this is speculation, undoubtedly with a lot of wishful thinking, so get out the salt - but in the meantime, check out the image for yourselves!

My body is ready. (My wallet is not.)

Wait a second, what's that in the upper right corner? It kinda looks like Kickback's head. THE PLOT THICKENS.

i would definitely be a bit more than bummed if those tree trunks were masterpiece megatrons legs.

if this is real, which i think is unlikely, why would hasbro be using it?

I don't think this is a deliberate hint, I suspect the graphic designers just used random schematics from HasTak's image bank. But they may have unintentionally let the cat out of the bag.

Hopefully this is true, because Megatron looks promising.

That's Bumblebee at the bottom of the page btw. Cliffjumper has different arms.

This would appear to have already been debunked by the rediscovery of the same artwork in other Hasbro Transformers outlets - the image below is allegedly from their official page for licensees.

This does not, however, entirely remove the potentiality of any of those molds and figures ever surfacing, in my opinion.

If that's a new Masterpiece Megatron, I'm so going to skip that decent looking third party one that should be out this month.

Probably will be another 6 months before we see real stuff

I wouldn't read too much into this. It's exactly the same kind of schematic design that the AOE figures had in their packaging. The Then & Now figures had their own version which included G1 Optimus and Grimlock, the actual G1 designs not the 'G1' toys included in the packs, same for the 'Silver Knight' figures.

It's just a design. It's Generations so they've just including who they now consider to be the three main staples of the franchise, in their G1 incarnations, not designs of any particular figures for them.

Thanks for the image. That Optimus Prime is definitely MP-10; and while the little guy is indeed Bumblebee, it's different than MP-21, particularly the head. Wonder who made these.

More than likely it was designed by a company called Pilot who were responsible for the rebranding of the line and the designs and artwork for the AOE packaging. They designed the schematic artwork for the AOE/Then and Now/Silver Knight packing inlays, which are similar in design to this:

Glad to see that no-one on here reads other people's replies. If they did they'd probably see that this is nothing to do with Masterpiece figures. But hey, I'll let them wallow in their own ignorance if they want.

Yeah so, I doubt Hasbro US would bother putting an MP Megatron design in their instructions, even as a tease. Good luck getting that thing out on shelves.

That said, it goes to show how badly a new MP Megatron seems to be desired in that something like this would garner such attention.

I understand these confirm nothing but recently to my knowledge video games have been taking all the blame for gun violence. So Hasbro may be able to release a MP Megs through and online retailer if they jam an orange cap in it. Then again someone is bound to find out about it an get p***ed off and bring attention to it. But I don't think anyone should be worried about MP Bumblebee getting a U.S. release. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we also got MP Sideswipe this year.

A US release of MP Sideswipe was confirmed at Botcon 2014.

I'm more amused by the fact that, because Va'al posted, we get the British 'Rumour' instead of the American 'Rumor'. Hehe.

Hey I know this is kinda an old post, but I kinda wanted to ask, has anyone noticed the "Masterpiece" Megatron blueprints on the inside of the Toysrus exclusive Bluestreak's packaging?
Image
Also if you look closely, it kinda looks like there's a Masterpiece Unicron too. :-?

I know most G1 enthusiasts are gonna be pissed at me for saying this, but I hope this Megatron won't turn into a hand-held gun, mainly because I want it to be released in the U.S. :CON:

Hi, it turned out that the blueprints were simply decorations from Pilot Studio --

http://www.pilotstudio.com/work/rebranding-a-giant/

As for a "G1" Megatron that doesn't transform into a gun there's always LG13 --
