Who gives a **** what they want? They've got entire aisles dedicated to their toys, they shove other lines out of the way every time a movie comes along. They need to learn to share! :-P

I've come to discover that they're like GI Joe fans. They're on an island all their own and don't acknowledge that their part of a larger hobby.

Transformers that don't transform?
Star Wars vehicles that transform?
G.I. Joe vehicles colored like Transformers?

What is this world coming to?!

Cue the mass hysteria :-P

While I agree that it would be great to see Transformers characters used for this crossover instead of Star Wars-themed transforming mech suit whatevers - it'd be beneficial aesthetically as well IMO, having proper robots instead of trying to approximate human features, and at this point we're used to Transformers characters having more than a single iconic appearance - I suppose what they're doing is reasonable from a business perspective. Something tells me that all other things being equal, Transformers fans are more likely to buy a non-Transformers-character transforming toy, than Star Wars fans are to buy a SW vehicle that turns into a Transformers character.

Admittedly I speak from the perspective of only one fandom, not being inside the Star Wars group (specifically that part that's also interested in toys). Even so, I just get the feeling that SW fans are gonna need more convincing to buy these things than we are, so business-wise it makes more sense to skew the appeal more in that direction. Of course as with any of my many assumptions, I could also be totally wrong, that's also a distinct possibility

Speaking as a major star wars fan i honestly don't give a **** about what they turn into. The main reason I'm buying this (and I'm sure many other collector's feel the same) is for the gorgeous alt mode. Sure the fact that it transforms is neat and all but it's hardly a selling point.

Um no. There might be a few but by and large, most TF fans know they're part of a larger hobby and what one side does affects them too.

But ... have you not already had something similar released without all the panel lines?

Not at this size. Most Star wars vehicles are released at a scale big enough to use with 3.34" figures which make The ships themselves quite big, or at a very small hot wheels like size. This is a pretty good way to have detailed replicas that don't take up a lot of space.

Fair enough ... that seems pretty poopy, I thought there would have been stuff in that size range already. Here's hoping the mob in charge of SW toys sees the popularity of vehicles this size and produce their own and **** off and leave Transformers alone.Image

Images of Grey Model for Takara Star Wars Powered By Transformer Darth Vader

While we have seen the colour images of this new Crossover Darth Vader toy, its grey model is being shown at Japanese toy shows and these close up images give us a good idea at the detailing on the figure. Please note that due to other images appearing on the Twitter pages these were found on, we do not recommend opening the links at work.

This toy will retail for nearly 5000 Yen in Japan and be around the $50 price point from US importers.

New Images and Video of Takara Star Wars Powered By Transformers Darth Vader

Thanks to Japanese websites Amazon.co.jp and the main source, Takara Tomy, we have a couple more stock colour images of the Takara Star Wars Powered by Transformers Crossover Tie Advanced X1 Darth Vader figure!

More images were first seen here, featuring both modes for the main figure, plus the five Stormtroopers and Darth Vader mini-figures also included in the set. In addition, we have also embedded a new clip showing off the figure's transformation (still in its grey prototype mode), including the lightsaber part, and the clear plastic elements of the toy, such as the cockpit - take a look at it all below, and let us know what you think of this new attempt to make Transformers crossovers a thing again, after the debatable unsuccess of the previous go!

Young Jedi Knights action figures for me. Hot Toys, I'd like a 1/6 scale Tenel Ka, please. ;) :D

I'd get these crossover figures if they were Cybertronian characters and not made to look like actual Star Wars characters. For an example, I'd rather see a generic Seeker head on that TIE Fighter's primary mode than Darth Vader's.

Or figures of young jedi period. How else are we supposed to recreate that scene from episode III?!

This actually looks really good. I just wish they'd found a way to incorporate the wings into the robot mode instead of just having them hang off of the shoulders.

Takara Star Wars Powered By Transformers Millennium Falcon at Tokyo Comic Con 2017

Courtesy directly of Takara Tomy on Twitter, we have an image from their Transformers booth over at Tokyo Comic Con 2017, taking place for the rest of the weekend and showing a fair few new figures and merchandise related to Transformers - and the various crossovers currently being explored.

In this post, we focus on the Star Wars Powered By Transformer Crossover Series, and both the full revealed Tie Advanced X1 Darth Vader, and what will be the second figure in the crossover series, the Millennium Falcon. The figure, with its still unknown robot mode (but probably either Chewbacca or Han Solo - or both, as a previous iteration of this figure attempted) is expected some point in 2018, and includes mini-figures of both its Wookie and scoundrel pilots. Check it out below!

I think the proportions of the new Millennium Falcon look better than the first version, but the Han Solo and Chewwbacca figurines look out of scale next to it? Hopefully, tje set can split into two mechs (and no more GPS Chewie!)

So lets see the ugly human or wookie head that ruins the figure. It should have Primes head dammit !!!

Robot Modes Revealed for Takara's Star Wars Powered by Transformers Millenium Falcon

PostPosted: Mon Jan 29, 2018 9:35 am
by william-james88
We have known for a little while that Takara was going to release a new transforming Millenium Falcon in their own Star Wars Powered by Transformers line. However, we had no clue what the robot mode(s) would be... until now.

Thanks to our usual Weibo source, it turns out that just as with the original concept, this Millenium Falcon splits into Han and Chewbacca. Also, similar to the origial release, they are very kibble heavy, featuring a lot of parts from the alt mode. A picture of the robot modes from Hasbro's attempt many years back can be seen at the end for comparison. Well, at least we know Chewbacca won't suffer from gold plastic syndrome this time (since that material is no longer being used).

Let us know what you think and if indeed Takara's take on this concept is better than Hasbro's.
