At first, I was "meh" on what appeared to be just a lazy repaint/retool of Alternity Optimus Prime. Ad a spoiler and stickers and we're done! I already have the original so why should I bother?

Then, the recent images show a completely different vehicle mode for the OP Alternity mold. Now THAT'S what I call heavy retooling.

I may not buy Optimus Prime, but I may just consider one of the other ones. Maybe Star Saber.

Not sure if this means anything to anybody, but the image for the green one just says 'Maximus' no fortress.

I'm probably just picking at details, no doubt it's meant to be some kind of representation of the character, but wondered if it was important it's not EXACTLY being sold of as 'Fort Max.' At least in name. Who knows what the bio says

I wonder if they'll include a tiny fig of those anime race queens depicted on the back of the box? It might justify the price hike; just barely, though.

I wouldn't count on it. The price hike may be caused by the amount of sponsors on the car, which would require licensing.

although you're probably right, it's a bit silly that TT would have to pay to let other companies advertise on their toys.

Right, but it also has an image of Fortress Maximus in the inset. I'm curious why he's green though, reminds more of DOTM Roadbuster than anything else.

I can't wait for the explanation, Fortress Maximus, the largest production transformer, homaged as a racing car? (yes I know, alternate dimensions, Axiom Nexus, Maguffin)

So what part do the Pit girls play in the story?

Had a thought, have the "issues" with the original Alternity Prime's transformation been addressed?

Since it just says "Maximus", maybe the green means it's Grand Maximus.

Looks like we got trolled.

Star Saber and Fortress Maximus would be the last characters I'd expect to be cars.

Nope. The profile shown along with an image states that it is Fortress Maximus. And interesting enough, not only does that add to my conflict but does the fact that I kinda like what I read when it comes to the team.

Sad but true. I keep floundering back and forth about whether I should buy these or not. Seems ridiculous to pay that kind of price just for a few decals.

Not sure about the story, but real life "race queens" in Japan are serve the sole purpose of being eye candy.

I am 100% with you on this issue. Granted, I am definitely going to pre-order Star Saber regardless of his backstory (he ones-up my "Alternity" Dai Atlas in terms of reasons). But I am just 100% conflicted with Fortress Maximus. Granted, I like the team and think they could become a favorite of mine. Plus, I am a fan of Headmasters to the point I made a solid effort to preorder Fortress Maximus. But when it comes to this figure, I see them being more of a Super/God Ginrai kind of team. And if that was the case, I might have been more sold - Much like I eventually was with both "Alternity" Ultra Magnus and "Encore" Sky Lynx. That is just me, which is why it is driving me insane.

Then again, I'll hope preordering "Arms Micron" Wildrider will shut off this conflict. The figure alone has me sold, and I can use more Decepticon/Destrons within my collection.
