Just for the painted sword alone, I'd like to have that figure, and I hate the character and the head. The Warrior class Power Surge Prime mold is a fantastic throwback to what TF's used to be.

Care to share more thoughts on that mold and why you feel that way? And do you feel that about the original mold as well or just the retool?

It has a formless, lump-like vehicle mode with body parts sticking out of it, and sh|t articulation in half of his body in robot mode, something smells of Armada to me

I assume you're talking about Prime; it's a tractor trailer, clear as day. There's maybe ONE joint missing from the arms, that would help but it's not THAT bad.

Only if they were exclusives, giving the other distributor (Hasbro Asia or now Transformers Asia) ability to ask for more. But these arent exclusives, so they can still get them from any middleman. BBTS and TFSource can never buy directly from takara (doesnt matter if they are ttmall exclusives or not) but when they arent exclusives, the amount of middlemen they can buy it form is very high and thus the rates are far more competitive, so they can charge the takara MSRP (or less if they made a deal before the exchange rate hike http://tfsource.com/transformers-advent ... mus-prime/).

Right, but at that point, the original point still stands, is anyone going to pay $100 for that crappy prime figure? I've seen it, held it, and it is just garbage
william-james88 wrote:Oh I know, I just wanted to give some info, hope you didnt mind. I would also be very curious who in Japan would pay that amount. Most japanese retailers dont use the MSRP and sell him for 60$ instead which is the same price point that mold goes for in Canada.

They're identical, except that the lightning on the legs of the hasbro version were swapped for toe paint, and darker plastics...
Takara's version has white on its arms, the wings seem to be more translucent, the arm fins have their deco inverted, the sides of the robot mode torso are gray instead of red, colored wheel rims, dark blue hands instead of gray hands, Aerobolt is more extensively painted, gray circles on the shoulders, white truck sides instead of red, and maybe more differences.Hellscream9999 wrote:D-Maximus_Primal wrote:They both look beautiful paint wise

Let's pretend the Minicons cost $100 and the Prime is a bonus figure.

Right, but at that point, the original point still stands, is anyone going to pay $100 for that crappy prime figure? Maybe they'll order enough to cover pre-orders, but, I mean, I've seen it, held it, and it is just no where near worth $100 + shipping
