Dude, this is basically the "Nemesis Prime" equivalent of Unicron. The antithesis doppelganger. The "anti-Unicron", so to speak.

It has the same coolness factor as any other character's duplicate clone/copy/impostor/etc., and it's made of pure energy. It's an energy Transformer! :KREMZEEK:

Ooh...Although I do love the colors (especially those clear green hands) I just don't think I can afford to drop 200$ on a repaint of a toy I already have (even if my old armada unicron does have a broken knee ratchet)

I'd say the Energon Black Unicron would be a better candidate for that :-?

There's two negatives in this for me. First, this isn't the LD Unicron. I was hoping for something closer to that. Second, the green is darker than it really should be.

All said, I would buy any and every rendition of Unicron simply because I like him that much. And every clear robot is cool, so I'm more than down 8-)

I think the people who are like "Blar its just a monotone unicron!" Dont get how heavy this release is. I cant think of another time something as exclusive as a lucky draw was remade for, essentially, main line retail. Not to mention how import this is to the Armada/Micron legends toyline this is.

Not only that, but this isnt jist a random green transparent toy being released. This is a figure that was relevant to the climax of the Armada story. People forget that, because Armada was almost 20 years ago

Ah, you're right, the second one wasn't exclusive to Amazon, it was just based on theirs in different hues. Looking into it it seems it was more of an Asia release than anything, only a limited number found their way to BBTS and the like making him apparently fairly rare.

Oh yeah, missed "Amazon 2.0". I still prefer the darker original.

The one "extra Unicron" I'd like to have is the black one. It look amazing and menacing.

His price is unfortunately way too high for me to triple-dip.

It it missed just a yellow missille, maybe. But unless one go for a custom, I'd avoid any and all incomplete transformers.

Try missing all missiles, dead end, the two shells of the planet mode...it was also filthy, with much encrusted around the spikes. So despite the price, I said no :-)

A Lucky Draw themed figure that can be bought more openly? Does anyone else think this is a sort of "last chance to milk the mold" release before revealing the newer figure? I mean, they did it with MP-10 Prime before they revealed Masterpiece Prime 3.0. In the end, it's just speculation. BTW, I like this Unicron alot, but I think the black one from Energon would be better for a "G2 Unicron" next to TLK Primus.

Watcha mean? The orange Energon Unicron, or the actual black Energon Unicron? I've got all the 'Crons aside from LD, the latest Platinum one (which I do plan to eventually get), and the orange Energon one.

In that case:

Black Unicron was never released in Superlink. The Hasbro version was available there as a "USA Edition" import, with the same box I'm assuming.

Armada Unicron was re-released at the beginning of Energon, no changes at all, but as as shown in a previous post, in an Energon box. That's where the "same toy, different boxes" probably came from. Same goes for the Universe 2008 re-release.

I hadn't realized the price on that jumped so high.. I found him at the TRU in Dubuque years ago, he was clearanced too..
Mines still in tha box...dang!
