What Encore reissue?william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Trypticon is an odd inclusion, given the heavy Beast Era focus of these manga stories. Gigastorm might have been more appropriate.
Maybe they are preparing us for his Encore reissue

So that's why Trypticon's in this.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote::EDIT: ... or not. The yonkoma may feature BW caricatures, but it deals with every aspect of the line's history, so Trypticon is still justified: he "contributed" to Swerve's cartoon appreance by stepping on him.

The rumored Platinum Edition one is from Hasbro (Asia).

I dont get it, what?
Swerve was among the group of Autobots who fought Trypticon in "Five Face of Darkness" when Trypticon destroyed the Ark. Trypticon is included here to show off Phaser's My First Blaster form since Trypticon was the only Decepticon Swerve got to fight in the cartoon, as well as having stepped on Swerve in their fight.william-james88 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:So that's why Trypticon's in this.JelZe GoldRabbit wrote::EDIT: ... or not. At any rate, anything pertaining to Transformers history, from:
- the UK comics (Roadbuster & Whirl as Englishmen)
- Beast Machines bodies (Jetstorm and Thrust, much to Silverbolt's and Waspinator's chagrin)
- G1 cartoon (Trypticon vs. Swerve)
- IDW comics (Swerve's singing My First Blaster, poor Phaser)
... to everything else is fair game to be made fun of in these yonkoma.

i get what takara was going for with their version, but i like hasbros light red a lot better.
Well, Hasbro's is meant to be MTMTE-accurate rather than cartoon-accurate.Wolfman Jake wrote:shajaki wrote:the pic most important to me....

If you can swap the heads between the two, the Takara one would have an almost perfect G1 screen accurate deco. The reds still a little dark, but the brighter Hasbro one isn't a perfect match either.

Yea - the silver highlights on Tailgate (especially on the face) really help the figure.
