Also, the Terrorcons could have looked great with this crowd, but I'm not crazy about the Hasbro decos. (Maybe if there's a really good sale someday. Or a UW edition.)

It is possible to get a cartoon-accurate deco for Abominus's head if you're willing to customize the toy a bit, as the whole head is cast in maroon plastic, meaning that the white helmet is just painted white. All you have to do is remove all of the paint on the head to reveal the maroon plastic underneath, and then paint/color the eyes red and the face gray/silver to get that full cartoon look.

I always get too ambitious with these things, then bored and eventually leave it unfinished. It's not just the Hun-gurrr/Abominus faces; I think that with some tweaks Takara would have pushed these to the next level. (For instance, I don't get why Hun-gurrr's thighs have these random white blocks?) Takara spoiled me with its awesome Legends decos. There were figures I would have probably skipped if not for its attention to detail & colour schemes. (Not to mention extra articulation and signature guns for the Constructicons.) It's fine though, I'm not too bothered by it.

BTW, shame that the engineering doesn't allow for dragon knees on Abominus. I always thought it was a cool feature because it kind of looked like the heads belonged to Sinnertwin & Cutthroat. (AKOM made that mistake in an amusing piece of animation.)

Wow, I never realized how much they screwed that up. In the first frame it's a funny colored Hun-gurrr, then he splits into Sinnertwin and Cutthroat with dragon heads, and then finally Hun-gurrr pops on top of the dragon heads to form Abominus. That's has to be one of their weirdest animation errors in a series full of animation errors.

Check on Topspin's legs, they might have the holes or pegs. and directly connect it on Twintwist's Leg.

Seems odd that is easier to get the legends twintwist over the hasbro one but I want the colors to match looking forward to Seaspray. Just got the Leoconvoy (after never having/wanting Alpha Trion) and it's a lot nicer than I thought it would be.

The Takara Legends line as we know it is almost at an end, so we should appreciate these newly released legends figures, which sport different paint applications from their Hasbro counterparts, while we still can. Below we have images of Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG-64 Seaspray, LG-65 Targetmaster Twin Twist and LG-66 Targetmaster Topspin. LG-65 Twin Twist includes Targetmaster partner Spoil, a new mold inspired by G1 Spoilsport, and LG-66 Topspin includes Targetmaster Peaceman, who is a retool and redeco of Legends Recoil.

While we do not have the full comic scans yet, we do have an image of a combined mode of Topspin and Twin Twist drawn by Sakumoto. This mode is achievable with the toys and you can see images of it below.

I wonder if Takara is gearing up for the "series finale" of Transformers Legends now. I believe that Topspin, Twintwist, and Seaspray with Lione are the last of the mainline releases for the LG line, correct? Would they pack the final Legends stories with LG-EX Greatshot and Brave Maximus?

I already have the Jumpstarters from Hasbro, because i didn't care for them being Targetmasters. I pre-ordered Seaspray, but i think i was wrong there too. I do not understand why the windshield is not painted, it looks bad.

Maybe, maybe not. We were told Legends would continue as exclusives which seemed to imply there would be more coming than just those two. More convention exclusives don't seem out of the question either.

Legends is still a line that predates the unification, much like Movie the Best.
Lines going forward from here, such as Studio Series and Power of the Primes, no longer have differences.

Targetmasters and Lione head... Sheesh.

I have the Hasbro Jumpstarters with Reprolabels on them and I'm quite happy with how they turned out. I'm not sure what to do with the LG versions if anything at all.
