Only God Bomber is left in May and there hasn't been a teaser since November? I hope they aren't shelfing Legends for the movie cycle

I'm kinda curious, given the recent conversation in the TR thread - aside from the de-chroming of the guns, are there any significant differences between Hasbro and Takara Jetfire?

The white of Legends Jetfire is more, well white.

It looks like TakaraTomy's Generations-like lines will be taking a back seat for the time being. Which is just as well, the first half up to Skids had 20 releases, while the second half with the Headmasters had 22, in which all the major players have been released.
What the plans are with the 2017 toys (our Wave 3 and beyond), we don't know yet. I am counting on exclusives to tide us over, in the vein of Convobat and Magna Convoy.

Hey fenrir, been awhile hasn't it? Was going through a difficult stretch in my life, so I thought I needed a break from the boards and the fandom. I can't believe my last post before today was from October 2014, but I think you guys sure have taken care of the place, nothing's changed

That's if they would do him. We're all pretty much expecting them to skip any retools inside the TR line, that would include:

- Sentinel Prime in favor of Astrotrain (his head got used twice tho)
- Getaway aka Lightfoot
- Voyager Optimus Prime in favor of Octane aka Octone
- Voyager Megatron in favor of Blitzwing
- Krok
- Quake

Sky Shadow vs. Overlord is debatable, but the latter is more favorable over there.

The retooling between the two (at least the jet half) is going to be quite extensive so it might be enough to get a release on both. Then again a lot of people also think Overlord will be retooled even beyond Hasbro's to make him the same size as God Ginrai and that would definitely be in Sky Shadow's favor.

I can't see them making overlord bigger, that would pretty much mean making a whole new figure from scratch. Obviously not beyond them, but nit when there's already an existing mould to have.

Mkay. I'll just copy-paste from the other thread, but I can remove the micro-review if asked.

Time for some Jetfire, because the guys over in the TR thread got me in the mood. I have the Legends version, one of my first Japanese figures, which I received for my birthday a few years back along with MP Ultra Magnus. I haven't played with him in awhile, so...micro-review!









LOVE this jet mode. Love it love it love it. I remember going onto TFWiki and seeing the first pics of the Hasbro version from Toy Fair, and this mode alone sold me on it. My only real complaint is that I wish the wings were ratcheted, so it would be easier to get the wings into that position. (I also forgot he had so many thrusters. )



Next up, bot mode, in pacifist configuration. Again, love it, but not quite as much as the other configuration. Also, the legs are kinda weird to work with, and the ankles on mine are super tight. But it's not too bad.



Head sculpt is gorgeous, though. Also...

Anyway, next up:



Combat mode! For whatever reason, I prefer this over the other configuration. Slight problem with the gun, I wished it could peg in the middle of the backpack boosters to store in either mode. It would've just looked nice.



Battle mask is amazing. Probably wouldn't have bought this without it. It just looks so badass, and I like the slight anime style to it, and to the rest of the toy too. I'll admit, I am kinda biased towards the whole 'visor eyes, mouthplate, antennae' head design that the mask pulls off perfectly, but still.



Also, more light-piping.
I kinda wish they could've had it so somehow the whole visor lit up...but I like this too for some reason.



Lastly, my preferred configuration. I dunno, I just think this looks the coolest.

Overall, I love this toy, and it was a nice bit of nostalgia to pick it up again. He might be hanging out on my desk for awhile...

All e-Hobby releases are official TakaraTomy product, in fact it's affiliated with them. The store may design the decos for the figures it sells, but in the end, it's all TakaraTomy.

But all licencee holders are official products, hence why they pay for a licence.
Is that different from Fun Pub and Hasbro? And Hero X and Takara?

With the Japanese Wonder Festival taking place next weekend too, we have news of the Takara Tomy Transformers Legends LG-EX Headmaster set - which is debuting at the event, and includes the alternative heads used by Hasbro for Chromedome, Hardhead, Brainstorm, Clobber (Grimlock), Brawn (Gong) and Flywheels - will start appearing at Cybertron Satellite stores as of February 25th, and there are some promotions taking place for their pre-order, too!

And man, does that mean the yellow lion is as big as Sixshot? I never put them next to eachother and always figured the lions were more voyager sized. But yellow look huge here!

Just minor things.

1. Who was driving Chromedome's Transtector when it rammed into Sixshot while little Chromedome himself was on the ground?

2. Depending on how long after Jack's death this is set, Sixshot's still being evil is questionable, considering how he turned from his evil ways by the end of the series.
