Actually, Inferno and Ironhide are the same height. I actually think Ironhide is a little heavier than Inferno.

Really inferno looked a bit taller.
That's why I can't justify the price.

I'd say use a scale. Something larger often feels lighter than something smaller of the same weight.

Okay, did that. Inferno does weigh 3 ounces more. I concede that point.

Okay, did that. Inferno does weigh 3 ounces more. I concede that point.

That totally makes it worth the extra $30 or so . And I dont care for those accessories. With Ironhide its all about gadgets he uses or can use. With inferno, most are just for aesthetic differences. I dont really count them as accessories, more like customisation options. Like with MP Primal, his swords are accessories, but not his extra faces. Thats my opinion, since I get no value from the extra faces.

In comparison to the price of their other offerings? No. I'm not a Takara loyalist. I don't give them blind praise just because they farted out a new MP.

Inferno is a good figure, but not a great one. He does not live up to what Takara has done before, or what they are capable of. Like Shockwave, he is a great update on the original toy, but not a great MP.

I've heard that before.............whatever suits your fancy but concerning Inferno, or any MP or any TF product, I have never given blind praises. Critical praise yes. Only one who does blind praises are many known figure reviewers who get lots of monetary benefits from doing so (that or they're just finding a minute blemish to pick on because the main stream figure floored their 3rd party purchase aka buyers remorse. I know of one reviewer who could not find anything wrong with IH besides the butt wheels started picking on IH's "girly thighs". People...MP IH has "girly thighs"!

Yawoooo! I finally received MP-33, the transformation is insane. I think I had a big grin when I transformed him. Takara thought about everything down to those disk things on his legs. And he's not even a major character.

The paint is beautiful, both the red and pearly white. I also love the chromed parts, they go great with the "Toei Animation" head.

And all those little gimmicks like the anchors, the (ratcheted!) ladder, etc.

This release probably marks a whole new level of cartoon-accuracy and customisation. He looks amazing. Not lacking in any detail in my opinion.

I don't think it would have hurt his show-accuracy though if Takara had tampoed the FD logos; I do like the sponsorship logos tampoed on Wheeljack and Smokescreen. But it's fine.

The grill for carrying Red Alert just reminds me that if Sideswipe were made today instead of three years ago, we would have gotten a better Red Alert. I'm a little surprised that Takara didn't change more than just his deco for the recent MP+ release. They said that at least 50% of Inferno's parts were retooled to make Grapple.

I'm not sure what to do about shelf-space anymore.. it's pretty full now, and Grapple is coming up. Where is this whole thing headed?

Yup. 100%.

Sometimes, we collectors are just so spoiled with all the modern features of our TFs we tend to neglect the R and D invested into it.

Also, I'm thankful for the option to ditch the chrome. Chrome sucks! (This from someone who loves chrome) especially when it fades even if you didn't mishandle the fig like IH!

Now that I actually have Inferno in hand this guy is without a doubt Transformer of the year for me. I'm not even a huge Inferno fan, but I think he's possibly the most perfect MP there is (MP-10 might edge him out). All of the MPs released this year have had various issues that bugged me like Shocwave trading in one type of parts forming for another, or Ironhide's arms and back, or Primal's feet in both mode, but Ironhide is absolutely FLAWLESS. He's everything I would want in an MP Inferno front and back. He looks like he walked right out of the cartoon, his transformation is intuitive, he's heavy and solid and it's going to be tough picking between Grapple and Artfire for Transformer of the year for 2017.

I'm phrasing praising him. You'rephrasingpraising him. There are some feedback I read that are 180 degrees opposite it beggars imagination as it is far from truth. Inferno is an awesome mold just like IH (of course except for the chrome issue in the latter)

mp inferno may be what they are going for but they have veered off track for the mp line and what it used to be.

I do it in reverse - I get the third party one first and when the official drops I get rid of the 3rd party figure.

Imho, the only purpose 3rds serve is to kick Hb/Takara in the cajones to finally make their own official versions.

Wait, you don't even own Backdraft yet? For all the praise you've been heaping on it I just assumed you pre-ordered one. Didn't realize you were praising it blindly...

It all comes down to what you're looking for in a figure. In my eyes MP Inferno is one of the best MPs made because I've always wanted cartoon-perfect figures and now I've got one (more). Realism isn't what I look for in MPs and I've been loving the way the line has evolved.
