Well, it can easily grip the handle, but the chain is long enough to let the flail itself rest of the ground. You can make the figure sort of grab the chain near the flail, but there's nothing to make it actually grip the chain, so you'd have to fiddle it a bit to make the flail stay put without it succumbing to gravity.

EDIT: Just gave it another try. The figure can grip the handle in one hand, grab the chain near the flail in the other hand, and keep the flail off the ground with just the right amount of balance and angle in positioning the figure's legs, feet, arms, and hands.

How does he look next to and scale with the Thrilling 30 Rhinox and Rattrap? (and, I suppose, Waspinator)

He's out of scale with Rhinox and Rattrap. He's taller than Rhinox when the former was taller than the latter in the show. And since Rattrap is just way too tall for his own good, the only Season 1 Primal toy that that Rattrap scales well with is the original 1996 Ultra mold that towers over all the other cartoon Maximal toys.

He`s a bit too big next to Rhinox and Waspinator but the right size for Rattrap

Nah, Rattrap was smaller than that in the show.

Aah cool. I feel Rhinox should be taller but while Rattrap's not the exact right size, I can kinda fudge it and say it kinda works :P thanks guys.

At least they're the right size for Episode 1 riding shenanigans

What the heckin? I reiterate what Cobs says. Why'd you decide to go the MP route as opposed to the original mold? The MP is do die for, but the OG is like... the difference between a black tie affair... and a house party where you end up playing Cards Against Humanity

I hear ya, guys! I hadn't planned on the MP at all....but then I got to thinking about how the only thing I wanted from the upcoming PotP incarnation was the original Optimus Primal. So I thought about the original toy, but then came across a reasonably priced MP32 that was $20 more than PotP Optimal would be at MSRP -- so I just went for it.

This should conclude my Beast Hunt -- unless there's an MP BW Megatron. ;)

MP Megatron is supposedly an announcement for this year. BW MP's got me back into collecting. As I had no real interest in the rest of the G1 MP line, bar Soundwave. So far just MP Primal and Cheetor (with his creepy hands) with MP Dinobot on the pre-order.

Considering I prefer Decepticons/Predacons it's weird that I actually picked most of the Primals first time round: Bat, Munky, TM, Beast Machines version one.

The revival of this thread just reminds me that I need to pickup an MP Primal at some point. Until then, the 10th anniversary repaint/remold will do just fine.

He is as close to 'perfect' as it gets. MP Cheetor I'm not entirely sold on, but Primal is worth every penny.

I hear ya on the 'Con love -- it was odd for me and BW. I actually really liked the Maximals initially, but the Predacons eventually grew on me; especially Tarantulas & Waspinator. Rogue Megatron was awesome from the get-go, yessssss....

And he's rumored for this year?! Nooooo lol :PREDACON:

In researching -all- versions of Primal, I ultimately went with MP32 because he's truly perfect in my eyes. I feel the same way about the handful of other MPs I have as well, but Primal has no issues from what I can see (ok, mebbe dem elbows but that can offset with positioning/posing).

I can't wait to have him in-hand! :MAXIMAL:

Yessss ;)^

Although it is base form Megatron, a design I didn't really like. Ultimately when it comes to Beast Wars, there were only really four characters I absolutely didn't like: Silverbolt, Blackarachnia, Quickstrike and Scorponok. That said, when they become available within the MP collection, for completions sake, I will have to pick them up... Hopefully Quickstrike will come with MP Inferno, as a mini con-like add on. Funnily enough Rhinox was the first of the "new" BW characters I took to straight away.

I thought Silverbolt was kinda funny, and Blackarachnia grew on me -- including their Beast Machines characterizations & looks. I never took to Scorponok or Quickstrike either.

I absolutely dug Rhinox from the get-go as well! And the episode where he broke bad? AWESOME.

I was not crazy about him going back to the Mech Side in Beast Machines, but I chalked it up to being reformatted by Megatron. ;)

The only incarnation I have of Rogue Megatron (as I call him, since he ain't G1 Megatron!) is the Takara Beast Wars Returns MegaHead. I do need a Beast version of him, so we shall see.... :PREDACON:

Scorponok was such a wasted opportunity. I bought the figure before seeing the show (the name has a legacy after all) and was so disappointed in how he turned out. I wasn't really upset when he took a lava dive in Season 2. A little sorry for Terrorsaur, as he had more potential.

bodrock wrote:I absolutely dug Rhinox from the get-go as well! And the episode where he broke bad? AWESOME.

The moment that sold me was in The Probe. Wherein Waspinator tried to ambush a distracted Rhinox. Who up until that point had only been seen using Cheetor's Gut Gun, catches his reflection and unloads THE CHAINGUN OF DOOM on Waspinator.. WOW

Agreed. Megatron's whole persona in Beast Machines can be chalked up to corruption by G1 Megs. Who was noted at the time for his hatred of Organic life. In truth, Joe is the only one that had decent characterisation in all of BM.

Back on topic, you naturally have the choice between MP-32 and MP-38. Be your preference show-accuracy or toy-representation.

Yeah, the 10th Anniversary Deluxe is a neat figure, though, chronologically-speaking, that toy is Primal's seventh body.

Yes, the only one you have just happens to be one of the rarest and hardest-to-come-by Megatron toys of all time. Such a pity.
