Because he's plenty available at BBTS and for 94$US.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/V ... tails/4810

That reissue make sense for the Asian market, but it make absolutely no sense to buy the re-issue from BBTS while the other is available for almost 100$US less!

So, buy the Platinum while you still have the chance. It's an amazing combiner well worth your money.

Substandard packaging on what they still have. Might be worth that $100 different in price to some. Not me, but I already have 3 original g1 Predacons, 94 bucks is to rich for me in order to get the set for the tiger and the bull/buffalo (whatever the non rhino foot is) anyway.

The Platinum is NOT meant to be compatible with the G1 original anyway. Because the G1 original have NO diecast. So gving him two limbs that is full of diecast on an all-plastic combiner will result into something... messy...

I you don't care about having the whole G1 original combiner and your G1 predacons are 100% complete, you could sell them, buy the Platinum, and STILL have some money left. Just a thought.

the hip screw gets loose on rampage every time I put the fist of the combiner then taking it out. the fist isn't tight on the wrist like his counterpart divebomb in arm transformation. even when I tighten it with the screw driver it keeps happening. is this a common issue? if so, how can I fix it? thank you.

Is it for the vintage original, the first reissue, or the Platinum?

Hate to correct but the first G1 releases did have die cast, like all of the 1986 Movie offerings at the time. Later releases, as you may have guess, were all plastic, that includes the Japanese originals. In other words, the 2010 reissue was the first time Japan got the die cast versions.

But I would indeed be weary about attaching die cast versions to all plastic ones.

From the sound of Rampage's problem, you should remove the screw and check the threading inside as it may have been stripped.

first reissue

So it's the all plastic one. As Jelze said above, you may have to disassemble the faulty part. Maybe something broke or came loose inside.

The first reissue was die cast, too. It's just the Japanese original and the second Hasbro run that were all plastic.

I recently played with my PLATINUM PREDAKING and let me tell you, it's still as satisfying as ever! The TIGHT joints, the LOUD ratchets, the COLD diecast... Man, this is a thing of beauty. Even the derpy robot modes!

Image

That Predaking go so well in this glorious G1 display!

Seriously, the Reissue is pointless when the Platinum is half the price. Unless you are adamant about having yellow instead of gold details.

Seriously? It may be just a placeholder stock photo.
Let's wait for the actual in-hand images.
And if it's the EXACT SAME THING as the Platinum........ :HEADHURTS: :POPCORN: :BANG_HEAD: 8-}

Yeah, the Platinum was basically the 2010 reissue with several of its stickers pre-applied, five sheets of more stickers, and a gold redeco of Prime Beast Hunters Optimus Prime's sword.

Are you sure about the pre-applied stickers? Because I remember clearly that there was none. the figures were clean as a newborn's bottom and there was LOTS of stickers to apply and it took a long time.

Read that on the Wiki, but it could be a mistake.

If anyone can confirm if it's in error, I can change it.

so how can I tighten rampage and dive bomb's hips? cause every time I put the predaking fists in between their legs the hip screws loosen up again even when I tighten them up. thank you.

All I can suggest is if you don't mind the screw being PERMANENT, you can always use some glue.

If the screw is metal on metal, then you're in business. Some Loctite Thread Locker will do the job marvellously. Just use enough to cover the threads. In absence of air the glue will cure and seal the screw in permanently. If the glue is left in air, it will remain liquid. THAT GLUE WILL NOT WORK OR DAMAGE PLASTICS HOWEVER.

Image

If the screw is screwed in plastic, then you may use normal Crazy-Glue. Be very, very careful so that the glue don't run in any joints or you will RUIN your figure.

As a Doc Frankenstein type of customiser, that's the only solutions I can come up with.

I bought the red thread locker instead of the blue. since the red is permanent and the blue is temporary. spray painted dive bomb's lower torso. disassembled it first. removing the previous chipping paint. then applied the spray paint. it is a darker red than the previous red. gave it a full day to dry up. reassembled the lower torso with the upper torso. then put the thread locker on the screw. screwed it back in with the leg on each side. did the same with tantrum. while applying the thread locker on dive bomb it got a little messy as you've said previously. so with tantrum I applied some in the hole where the screw goes instead of the screw itself. wish I've done the same with divebomb. but the screw doesn't move at all. when I applied a little force with the screw driver to see if the screw moves since I saw a little liquid coming outside the screw of divebomb and it didn't budge. real good stuff. i'm glad you told me. :-D

So the screws did screwed into metal. That's the only way it could have worked.

Glad it all worked out. ;)^

Now to wait and see what this reissue will be like....
