Pretty much what I think. They have given us some of the best exclusives in TF history.

Lots of cool toys that would never have existed without them.

I've sent stuff internationally and the only people doing any thieving are the various postal services. Especially if you want to make sure the packages don't just disappear from the face of the earth.

Transformers are big business these days. Hasbro would be fools to leave the Fanclub spot vacant. As for Funpub getting the boot. I wouldn't call it "b*tching" as much I would call it, celebrating, relief, hope, etc.
I get that loyal funpub fans are in their feels due to the news. But throwing shots at the people the club alienated for years won't change it.
Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to you, too.
Transformers is a HUGE business nowadays, but the exclusives market? It's been shrinking. Botcon's attendance is down, the Club's exclusives sales are down... given the consolidation, coordination, and control Hasbro is exerting on the brand, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro were ending the Club concept entirely. What is FunPub if not another loose end?
I haven't seen anyone get the feels so much as acknowledge that some Club figures were well done. But sure, characterizing folks who aren't bashing FunPub or celebrating their alleged demise as blind fanboys or emotional wrecks makes it easier to dismiss the plausible theory that this may mean the end of US-based Club-style exclusives.

I see no foot. What I do see is multiple perspectives and multiple potential outcomes based on the facts on the ground. Unlike you, I express no confidence in one scenario over the other; I'm simply presenting possibilities.YoungPrime wrote:You're just putting your foot in your mouth at this point. The fact that you claim that Attendance was down and sells are down only puts things in perspective.
I know you don't care, and I never said you should. But for something that's not at all geared towards you, you seem to be commenting a lot about it.YoungPrime wrote:Plus why h3ll should I care if this spells the end for Botcon if it wasn't really geared for me anyway???
Whoop-dee-doo.YoungPrime wrote:The only thing at Botcon I really looked forward to were the upcoming TF reveals which will still be released via NY Toy Fair, SDCC, NYCC, Etc.
Or, assuming FunPub is indeed losing out here, Hasbro might end a line of business that's not making good money. Either outcome is possible. To express any level of certainty or to claim it would be wise to take a particular action without understanding the underlying business case is foolish.YoungPrime wrote:So as I said before if Hasbro is smart they'll find a way(s) to fill the void in 2017 that isn't as offputting as Funpub's practices were getting in first place.

Until we hear news about things in 2017, still assume this is the end.

All I'm saying is that we're currently at a "wait and see" point, as unpleasant as that is.megatronus wrote:Sabrblade wrote:2017 is too far off for any news to heard about right now.Bed Bugs wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Well, this news from Jesse makes it sound like something is forthcoming in 2016, and not in a doomed sort of way.

Ehh... It shouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to say "yes, we will be operating in 2017" right now, if they will indeed be operating in 2017. Saying nothing is more damning.

I feel the same way about this. Keyword: feel. No idea how true it is, but it definitely seems that the old hype for limited/exclusive repaints/retools is significantly less than what it was in the past and it continues to diminish. This goes beyond TFCC product - MP repaints, e-hobby, Platinum edition, you name it, there's just not the same excitement there used to be for that kind of stuff. Grand Galvatron is the closest I've seen to excitement out of this fanbase for a repaint in a long while now. There's a multitude of factors for this as I see it, but that also feels like something for another time/place/thread.megatronus wrote:Transformers is a HUGE business nowadays, but the exclusives market? The humans from the Classicverse have had their share of other worldly experiences since the Transformers first arrived in 1984. They have seen the war come and go, they have seen their planet taken from their home universe and transported to another, and then they even found themselves removed from the very planet they had always called home!
It has been five years since that day. The humans now have a new earth, a new home, one that is mostly at peace and one that is free of the Transformers! Or so they think... Next year, exclusively in the pages of the TCC Magazine, an exciting new 36 page story begins with Issue 67. Can the humans every truly be free of the war involving the Transformers, or will they always be at the mercy Of Masters and Mayhem!
To Join the TCC and receive all six issue of the 2016 magazine, the free membership incentive figure Ramjet, discounts on the official Transformers convention BotCon, access to the TFSS 5.0, prizes from Club contests and more, be sure to visit https://www.toyarama.com/…/transformers-club-memberships-c3…
