The trailer makes me feel like my childhood will once again get raped by bay and co. but at least it looks like there's lots of bot action.
think blonde girl in distress was awful... seems we're going backwards
op on grimlock was epic but cheesy at the same time.. is there a word to describe epic cheese (and no gruyere doesn't count)?
Hope they remember to include some plot round the holes this time.
You could always just not watch them. Then you won't be disappointed.
Exactly.

What rule states that the Dinobots absolutely must consist of Snarl, Swoop, Sludge, and Slag?

No rule, just common sense.

Adimus Prime wrote:Bay can safely reimagine all of the Dinobots except for Grimlock. Grims is the only one with a lot of character development in the books or cartoons. The others are just along with him as team mates. And yes, doing the original 5 Dinobots would be massively strange if they were scale to the animals that they are modeled after.
Swoop would be likely quite small and weak. Sludge would be insanely huge and slow.
What's weird is, why is Grimlock so damn huge? A real T-Rex would be shorter than Prime in his robot mode. So it must be scale to Prime as though Prime were an average human's size compared to his dino mode.
Strafe is not a dinosaur. We know from product package art that a Triceratops is in it. So what is Strafe modeled after? Q/Wheeljack isn't involved in their creation. So we know that Bay is writing a whole new origin with new characters. I just hope Grimlock is roughly akin to the G1 character. I love the War Within Grimlock best. Bay has another opportunity for great character development. But I would expect him to blow up that chance like he always has. Still want to see this movie for sure though.

Well, I'm not exactly sure if it would work, but Shockwave did crash in Siberia, which is fairly close to China (I know it's not that close, but it's on the same landmass.). Maybe Shockwave brought them, and they escaped during the crash and made it to China?
On another note, I've realized why Optimus riding Grimlock bothers me so much. Judging from any Grimlock's personality, would he ever let himself be used as anyone's mount?

Common sense.
Something half the fandom lacks
It's common sense to have the same guys on the same team?
If that was the case, then we would have every 'bot and 'con from G1 in every Transformers series today.
Also, Bulkhead would not exist
Neither would Airachnid
Or nearly all of the Predacons in Beast Wars
Or any Transformer created after 1985.

He just means that if everything after G1 was always done just like how G1 did it, then nothing would ever be new/different/unique/etc. since we would always get the same old stuff as always, including characters.MINDVVIPE wrote:Wow, thats a terrible reply.
We've all known the team of dinobots to be Grimlock, Swoop, and Slag/Slug, and the others, from G1, to the comics, to animated, to the games. etc. I know armada did its own stuff, but in the toy realm, theres so much room to just do whatever (i.e. pcc combiners). And sure, its Bay, and he does things how he wants with his own TF continuity, but you can't possibly be so arrogant to a fellow fan who is both surprised and wishes it was the original team.
