I think all cars should be deluxe size. The best part about modern crossover toys is that they can, in theory, fit in with other Transformers.

Honestly, I think Ectotron fits in well. If he's too big it's only by a touch. I didn't notice it until it was pointed out and even then I had to really compare the two to vehicle's widths to see it. If I have to go that far I think it's fine. I mean, even all deluxe cars aren't perfect in terms of scale. Especially if we aren't ditching out older TFs.

I think the only crossover that doesn't quite fit in is Party Wallop. Since he's based on a mutant turtle and a flat cartoon aesthetic whereas other crossovers are based on real vehicles with real vehicle details.

The scale thing is what put me off of Marvel Crossovers back in the day (only got a few recently). They're so big - they fit in with nothing! A good deal on ebay got my into getting a few more. Ironically that package seems to have gotten lost in the mail. :lol:

For Ectotron, I would say voyager was the best bet. Don't forget how absolutey massive a 59 Callilac ambulance is compared to more recent cars. Voyager is still probably a little too big, but deluxe would have been way too small.

TBH, and I know it'll never happen, but I wish they'd make a deluxe option. Same basic mold without the lights and sounds to better scale with the rest of the TF line. And without the car's "chin".

A proper video review from (who else?) PvP.

It's already out in the Asian markets so it's not surprizing. Also, the date is December for Amazon but I wouldn't be surprised if it's sooner at independent retailers.

Also, I knew it would work perfectly with Ectotron.

TBH, I think he looks massive next to Ecto-1, but it's a lot less obvious than next to Gigawatt and some of the other crossover cars.

I think he looks decent next to the HA car and may looks good next to Alternators since they draw G1 inspiration. But Alterators are a very different style. I dunno. Knight is a VERY one-off sort of guy.

Amazon has updated my order and says it arrives on Wednesday. Can't wait.
One of my favorite Live Action shows as a kid. That and Macgyver. But I doubt will get an Angustron Jeep, or Grampa Harry's Chevy Nomad, or the 1947 GMC Pickup. Mac had so many cool cars.

Cool cars? Magnum PI had a cool car but maybe that helicopter?

Does anyone remember 'Automan' and 'Street Hawk'? Those would be sweet bots...(outside of the big 80s helicopters...)

Magnum had "the" cool car. But Ferrari doesn't seem to be licensing their cars sooo....

Automan yes very cool show, sad it didn't last very long, but that would just end up being an all black redeco of Sideswipe with all spark blue pin striping. :-D

Or maybe, The Fall guy's GMC pickup?

Lots of potential cars to be had in 80's action tv shows.

In terms of the genre I think Automan and Street Hawk make more sense as collaborations than Magnum's Ferrari or even MacGyver or Fall Guy and Bay Watch, IMO. KITT kind of fits in with the sci-fi/AI that transforming robots do similarly does a Time traveling DeLorean being high-tech.

That said, the aspect of them hiding in plain sight as normal everyday things does open up a lot of possibilities for pretty much anything. I personally wouldn't see the appeal of Magnum's car being one, which bot was ever considered a private eye?

And then there's the whole licensing issue, especially with an automaker that's likely too costly for a toy that already has a license fee then also add the Magnum IP. I'm honestly surprised they managed to acquire KITT, not that it's a highly sought after IP today. But I do know how some companies like to have a stranglehold on their IP's.

Half the fun of the collab is how they handle the bot. A "plain" car can be saved by a bot mode in a Hawaiian shirt.

Nightbeat is the Autobot private eye, not that Hasbro assigns existing characters to any of these. He's more of a trench coat guy anyway.

Does the torso panel stay clipped into the waist? Mine keeps popping loose.

My only real gripe is the electronics compartment, not kind of ruins the silhouette, bit only from certain angles.

Surely they could have found a better pace for the sound effects button, also could have been smaller in size? I realize the battery compartment had to be close to said light, but it does seem overly large as well. And makes it seem tipsy.

Other than that I really do like it overall.

A custom would be easy enough to make. Keep the car as-is, but change every last bits of the bots in Prowl colors and patterns. With a different head too.

Using parts of Alternator Prowl, like the head, could be a good idea.

Having so much fun with this guy. Finally got some batteries for him, and the sound bites are... well o.k. Some are kind of odd.

I may be not remembering the show, but I don't get the "Thank you, sir" sound byte.

Kind of odd there's no "Activating Turbo Boost ..." or "Scanning..." or "Pursuit mode".... odd choice of voice clips.

Not "Super Pursuit" mode. just Pursuit Mode. Before Super Pursuit was a thing, Kitt had a regular Pursuit mode for chasing bad guys.
