Does anyone think there is a rush to get these? I would like to wait until all are released and the quirks/kinks are worked out before I buy.

I'm in the same boat as you. I love Hercules, and I know TFC will support their products when there's some fault. But I sure would love to purchase the set once all flaws are known and MAYBE get a package deal for all 5.

Now that is just bad ass !!!

How can anybody even still talk about FP Aerial Appendage set being better than this ??? And Im not talking s**t because I already own the FP set and I still want this bad boy !!!

My solution for the FP set: Get the energon versions of the Hasbro mold and make it a new character. He will no longer G1 Superion on my classics shelf.

Because each one of these guys costs as much as the FP set, and FP Superion scales with FP Bruticus and MT Giant better than Uranos. I like these guys, but it's way too much money for me to plop down.

What he said. I just do not like the scale that TFC is doing. It's too pricey and not my style at all.

I'll spend the 550ish on something else.

I never liked the FP version of Superion but this guy is going to be too big for my shelf. Love the details for these particular guys.

Scale is a losing battle with 3rd party combiners. Im going all G1 for my classics shelf. (cartoon G1)

You gotta admit that the various 3rd party companies are kind of in sync with actual alt mode scale...

Construction vechicles (TFC)- huge
Jet fighters (TFC)- huge
Combat vechicles (FP) - mid sized
Stunticon cars (FP)- small
Beasts (MMC predacons) - Huge

Besides the Maketoy Giant indivdual robot modes suck and the FP Superion individual robot modes are well...Hasbroish !!!

That group shot is the money maker and should have been released a couple of months ago. My aerial appendage team will be rechristened from Superion to Sixwing (technically five wing). Compared to these guys they could be micromaster sized. I will have a giant Superion on my shelf soon.

Quite frankly I hate the Aerialbots, so putting a lot of money into something I don't care for is completely out of the question. I only got the FP set on clearance just to make my Superion maximus look marginally better alongside his contemporaries. Plus, even if I don't like him, he looks a lot better than that mesh of blocks with wings that G1 Superion is.

Scale is hilariously wrong in Transformers in general. I'm not pretending otherwise. I adore TFWiki's Scale article.

You gotta admit that the various 3rd party companies are kind of in sync with actual alt mode scale...
Construction vechicles (TFC)- huge
Jet fighters (TFC)- huge

Fighters are usually bigger than cranes and bulldozers. In this case Uranos scales more accurately with Giant if we're going for real-world scale. Also Silverbolt should be tremendously bigger than the other Aerialbots using G1 alt modes.
Combat vechicles (FP) - mid sized

REAL BRUTICUS:
Image
Stunticon cars (FP)- small

True
Beasts (MMC predacons) - Huge

Um. No. A rhino is about the size of a pickup truck. Lions, tigers, and bulls are about the size of a small car. An eagle is about a third the size of the average human, with a wingspan of about 6-8 feet. In real scale the Predacons should be the smallest combiner team.

Besides the Maketoy Giant indivdual robot modes suck

Eh, they've both got their merits. Most people seem to prefer Giant overall, for various reasons like money. I'm indifferent on this one, although I prefer Hercules's combined mode. I own neither set.

and the FP Superion individual robot modes are well...Hasbroish !!!

Some of us think that's okay! :O

To get back to the original point, I respect your preference, and I even agree with some of the original points you made in favor of Uranos, but you said "How can anybody even talk about the FP set being better than this?" and I gave you some reasons why. ;)

LOL I love the "Real bruticus" scale drawing. But FP did put some thought into that when they made Swindle a Humvee instead of a jeep and Blast Off a unmanned drone shuttle that really does exist. The predacons are kind of a big N/A in the real life scale department because their alt modes were not meant to be "in disguise" on earth. That is unless you might mistake a big red and orange metal bull for the real thing. ;) I think it's fair to say that all robot beasts from seasons 3 and 4 would roughly be the size of an SUV if they existed in real life. That is if you use their robot modes compared to other robots that turned into vechicles that stood beside them. On the construction vechicles, they vary in size with Mixmaster actually being the smallest and Long Haul being the biggest. Ive seen plenty of fighter jets in person and they are comparable in size to an excavator or crane truck. I did see both the SR-71 and the concorde in person on tne USS Enterprise in NYC. I think TFC got the Blackbird right in comparison to the other jets. Maybe a little small but not too much. But the concorde was much longer than the SR-71. If they ever do a re-shell of the silverbolt figure as a concorde it would be out of scale. On the Hasbro Aerialbots, they make a great Superion Maximus, but just an OK G1 Superion in my opinion. And most people like Giant because of FP Bruticus and Superion and what they consider the perfect scale. I find it hard to believe they like the shovel/crane arms on Scavenger/Hook, or long haul having wings, or Scrapper/Bonecrusher having a cab on their chests. It was TFC making the bots more cartoon accurate that sold me on Herc. IM more of a cartoon accuracy type of guy. Ive never been big fan of the whole "Neo Classics" concept where something has to transform different and look modern in alt mode. For that we have Bayformers.

Not sure what people mean by calling Phantom "Cheap" feeling.
I got mine yesterday, ripped him open and was completely elated.
Funnest figure I've messed with, even though his knee guards poked a hole through
my finger that makes it hard to type.

Warning: do not try and slide the legs upward, before moving the knee guards back.
you will poke a hole in your finger, and it will bleed like a Mofo.

Uranos has fallen far from the tree..

In arm mode there is only 30% elbow, Zero wrist articulation, and about 20% elbow articulation. Add that with the hand only having two points of articulation, instead of three like Herc..

I'm out!

Phantom is the one and only, if I don't decided to get rid of it.

dear TFC,

YOU SUCK!

dear TFC,

Add that to the existing QC issues with Phantom and I'm starting to wonder if I should cancel my Eagle and Blackbird pre-orders until those three or even all five have been released and some more reviews have been done. My budget is far too limited to waste this much money on something that could be a massive letdown.

Could be? He can't hold his gun with two hands!
It's cool to have each figure a nice figure, but if the gestalt of the characters
Is as a bad as this Arm, it's doomed. No wrist articulation means next to nothing with poses.
He might as well be G1, where the only gun action is facing down or facing forward.
He can't holding anything like Herc.

Dear TFC, fix this or get lost, without the wrist articulation and third finger joint, this isn't a 90$ figure.
More like 40$, and Hasbro-esque. Boo you!

His wrist turns on mine, did I miss something? You also get extra articulation out of the elbow if you extend the legs a bit. It seems fine to me.

I'm not confused now at all :P

I've cancelled my Eagle and Blackbird pre-orders and will wait for Phantom to arrive and reviews on Eagle before making another decision. Will still most likely end up with the full set, just might be better to wait for the second run which will hopefully have worked out all the bugs.

Interesting. My Phantom has 360 degree turn at the wrist, if you extend the legs about half a centimeter, you can get a 90 degree elbow swing and the wrist moves back and forth, though admittedly not by much.
